Sailor has a piston filler, the Sailor Realo so it’s definitely larger ink capacity vs the cartridge converters.

Love your new super fine nib Ali! You are the one who got me into the common planner and I love not having to buy all the monthly inserts for my leather notebooks anymore. Well Im still working through my handwriting situation because the little blocks are so tiny and most of my fountain pens are medium … I just can’t get into the little boxes so I take up two or three at a time. I think I’ll try to go to a fine nib n see if that helps. Im sorry your nib got twisted when it flew out of your hand. Love the white n rose gold pens. They go with everything and look so pretty full of ink. Happy day!

I have a Twsbi Diamond 580 with a Japanese EF grind that writes beautiful. I will say that my sailor Medium Fine is a luxury writing experience, I guess is how I would explain it but I hate the ink capacity. I do actually use cartridges and just flush them and refill, you get more ink in those than a converter. I would love to find a Sailor with a TWSBI capacity

If you are interested in a piston filling Sailor, then you will want to look at their Realo (1911 or Pro Gear). You might also look at Pilot's Custom 823 which is a vacuum filler and has a 1.3ml capacity. Pilot will be making the 823 available in the US market with both an Extra Fine nib and their Posting nib. Both sailor and Pilot offer nibs which are finer than TWISBI. Best wishes with your pen search.

I could not tell from the video though the ink bottle could have been De Atramentis. Would love if you shared the ink. Best wishes!

I'm a complete novice when it comes to fountain pens, but I've found that the writing experience in terms of line thickness can vary not only by manufacture and nib size (and paper), but also if the pen is a wet writer and if the ink is a wet (or dry) ink. TWSBI Ecos tend to be wet writers, so if you use a wet ink, the line will be thicker than a line made with a dry ink. I've got two TWSBI Ecos in EF and M nibs, and noticed this when I played around with my inks recently. Might be worth a little experiment to see how various inks write in the two pens to compare, if you own multiple different inks. That being said, whatever was done to your new pen makes it write a beautiful EF line! Thanks for sharing! xx

Are you exclusively using Doc Black now? I have some but for some reason don't have any pens inked with it. I still adore Lexington Gray although honestly I have more inks than I should, which is why I don't mind a big capacity- I like to play with the inks and colors and have an embarrassing amount of Kaweco Sport pens.
