I feel like I'm the only curly who doesn't wrap her hair at night. I just use a satin pillow case and move my hair out of the way so I'm not sleeping on it. I'm a light sleeper who doesn't move a lot at night. I wake up with perfect curls (looking bomb thanks to Mell). I only start refreshing on day 3 or so, when I get some freeze or lose definition.

I'm a wavy (mostly 2b), but I don't wrap or bonnet my head either. I'm also a light sleeper and I just carefully position my hair out of the way too! I don't even use a satin pillowcase. I tried it but I don't like the feel of it on my face (I'm a side-sleeper). Even so, I can usually get to day 3 with decent hair as well! You know, as long as my wash day was a success 😅

I have heavy hair, it has always been beautifully curly when my hair was short but as it got past my shoulders it lost most definition. I have been growing my hair out for 3 years and was ready to chop it to get my curls back. Then I found you about two weeks ago, watched many many (maybe an embarrassing amount) of your videos in a short period of time and for the first time ever my hair is long and curly!

Appreciate you mell! The day I style and hair lookin good, I hate to sleep for fear of ruining it. BUT! Wearing the bonnet and all uve suggested, makes the next day (still) a good hair day! I never would have known! Years ago when I would wear my hair natural, I washed and re-did EVERY DANG DAY 😳 I never knew I didn’t have to.

Hi Mel - I’ve been stalking your channel for months. I was using Deva Curl products when I started getting handfuls of hair falling out. I started searching for info and edjumacating myself. The clouds parted and the hair angels started singing when I found Manes by Mel. I have spent hours watching and molto soldi on good curly products since then. I’ve also made some dufus blunders like sleeping with my hair plastered with mashed avocado, honey, olive oil and coconut oil. I now know not to ever do THAT again. I’m so glad I won your IG contest for EVA NYC curly hair products. These products are beyond PHENOMENAL and I will never use anything else. Plus I’m totally addicted to the smell. My curly hair has never looked better. I did purchase both of their new products about a month ago. They are really great. I just wish they had the same smell as the “Mane Magic” line. Hi Mel! I am always looking forward to your videos. Ever since I watched your "why I don't follow the CHM I been hooked! I never knew I had somewhat curly hair until highschool but I didn't know how to take care of it or how to make it look nice. So I gave up and kept on straighten it. But following your videos I have been able to revive those curls I have and I am SOOO happy!! I have gotten compliments about my hair it it's great!!! But I still have a long way to go until I can see the full potential of my hair.... I just used a facial steamer to refresh my curls. My hair looks so nice after doing this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before: Ugh a product vid. After: Gimme those affiliate links!! But seriously. Steam and finger coiling have been the top 2 game changers for me by a huge margin. I live is a dry af climate and they have taken my hair from “Oh the top is wavy but a few good curl on the bottom.” To 3B/3C all through-out. And I have super fine hair, so no matter what I do it gets stringy and flat, even in my bonnet and the steam just plumps it back up. I use a clothes steamer though. It’s what I had!! Same price, stand way further away.

@@ManesByMell I am ready for my best night wash! I tried wet plopping before but something just looked off in the morning. Plus it's uncomfortable sleeping with the plop. (I also heard it can cause scalp mold!) How long do you plop for before adding in products?
