(RE-EDITED) Children will understand this song but will understand it better as an adult. Sure as a child life will feel hard sometimes but as an adult you see the REAL pain of it. But then we learn as we continue to grow, we look back at those mistakes and burry them. We keep looking forward and we keep climbing that mountain even though the rocks come back and try to knock us off of that mountain. We don’t give up until we’ve reached that top of the mountain. now that im older I listen to my childhood songs and it's magical to me because i was so innocent this movie came out on my birthday and i was hurt over cameron boyces passing, still am, but songs like these will forever be apart of my life 💗

This song's lyrics surprised me a lot. It's very "musical vibe" and lyrics are full of metaphors it's amazing. Comparing this to disney zombies "Finally Me" or any other "kids targeted tv movie songs", there are a lot of films trying to send kids the message of "be yourself, you write your own story" but none of the songs came close to what this song did. Mostly because they all lack metaphors and lyrics are always on the nose telling audience directly just "be yourself" But this one was different. It tells you to be brave and it's not your fault that you turned out to be this way all you need to do is to have courage to change and write your own story. The lyrics even have a part where it says "There's no pre-written guarauntee of happily ever after" this lyric alone is pretty realistic for a disney movie but also the whole "once upon a time" thing keep the touch of "this is a fairy tale" "A fairy tale, that is real" The mixture of both unrealstic and realistic vibes really make this song a gold.

i love this song. it's so inspirational. it made me believe i could do anything.

For everyone who thinks this is wrong... This is how it is done in the OFFICIAL soundtrack. So, yes, it is right. They most likely cut and rearranged lyrics since they had a limited time. This is just like what they did with two songs from HSM 3 (Right Here, Right Now and Walk Away). They didn’t do the full versions in the movie and had the full ones for the soundtrack to the film. They also did this for one section in Ways to be Wicked with the phrase “Cruel and Unusual, we’re taking control. There’s so many ways to be wicked” etc. they left the phrase out of the movie and added it back in for the official soundtrack. So please stop bringing it up...

Descendants will always be my favorite movie . And i love how the fairy tale continues with D2 and D3 but D3 is the sad. Like i cried in queen of mean bc Audery was hurt and sad and miserable so she became evil and taken over audron but then the pirates came and help mal and the Vks and when break this down comes i cry because this will be the last celebrate we will have of descendants i am so happy it started vut sad when it ended if you read this thanks and like my commet
