In this video, Dr. Berg talks about his opinion on Alkaline Diet. Every different part of your body has a different pH. The blood pH is between 7.35 - 7.45, anything above 7 is alkaline and anything below 7 is acid. The colon, urine, and stomach pH are acidic.
The important thing to know: The pH factor in foods is NOT what makes a food healthy - it is the nutrients in that food.
One of the big functions of having different pH in different parts of the body is to allow things to flow or be transported in different directions. There are just as many symptoms and diseases that occur in an alkaline state as there do in an acid state.
Alkalosis Symptoms:
1. Hypokalemia
2. Confusion
3. Tremor
4. Twitching
5. Numbness

I tried the alkaline diet for almost 7 months straight and felt more energetic, I was able to rid of all the acne I had on my face and back, including some weird bumps I got on the back of my head. I've been on and off lately and notice the difference when I'm eating other foods, but it's definitely hard, what helps me is meal prepping for the week.

That was very informative except that the alkaline diet IS NOT about MAKING THE BODY completely ALKALINE. It is about helping the body to find a BALANCE and not stay at the edge of a pH that might be too acidic (because of toxins brought by a bad diet/lifestyle, as opposed to the toxins naturally created by the body).

The stomach naturally produces HCl (Hydrochloric acid) to help with the digestion of food and has a higher acidic level than rest of the body (between to 2 to 5.5 as compared with 7.45 of rest of the body). The stomach also produces mucus at the same time which acts as a lining to protect its inner walls against the action of HCl. The HCl is required to kill bacteria that enters the body through food, and also to activate enzyme pepsin that helps in the breakdown of proteins in the stomach and the enzyme, Intrinsic factor that absorbs B12. Pepsin can only work in an acidic environment. If the food sits in the stomach for a longer period of time then the chances of increased acid levels can cause gases to be formed which in turn can result in bloating, burping, nausea, and heartburn due to acid reflux. Eating too much food can pressurize the stomach. Eating too high alkaline foods can cause more stomach acid to be produced to enable digestion, so balancing your meals are very important. Carbohydrates move quickly through the stomach, while proteins take longer and fats can sit in your stomach for almost 6 hours. While choosing your meals we should make sure we combine our food in such a way where we can get the maximum absorption of proteins while the carbs and fiber bind them while maintaining a good insulin balance. Fats should be preferably the unsaturated ones that go smoothly through the stomach till they are emulsified with bile in the small intestine to aid in absorption of the fat soluble vitamins, A,D,E and

I’ve tried all sorts of “diets” but none were sustainable after giving them a go for a few months at a time. That is until i found a protocol instead of “diet” 16/8 Intermittent Fasting changed my life. I feel amazing. I did the alkaline diet four years ago, for five months - it helped my arthritis a lot as I couldn’t walk, but I think it was purely because I ate healthy food for a few months... I ate high healthy fat foods like avocado and salmon and cooked in coconut oil and had lots of vegetables, similar to keto, the alkaline diet is, except keto allows bacon and I love bacon !!! I didn’t lose weight on the alkaline diet as I ate too many calories and way too much fruit, but lots of people were curing their health ailments eating lots of fruit but made me more hungry- fruit never fills me up ( insulin I know ) ... I didn’t count calories at all and I didn’t lose weight, but I felt so much better and I could walk, but it wasn’t sustainable for me. The only confusion I have, is when I read, cancer does not grow in an alkaline body...

Just eat healthy like Dr Berg suggests. And like he says, the body will find it’s own balance. The most important keys for having correct alkaline acid balance is low toxicity and plenty of electrolytes especially potassium. And not from bananas, but rather green leafy veggies, avocado, cream of tartar powder(in water) or blackstrap molasses in small amounts.

You’ll obviously have a lot of good outcomes with the “alkaline diet” considering the plentiful fruits and vegetables and low carbohydrate foods listed. Dr Berg didn’t say it was bad, he just pointed out factual deficiencies on the diet. And cleared up some biological science behind it. Anyone consuming more vegetables and fruits will have better health outcomes regardless of the diet they choose. (As opposed to not eating vegetables and fruits)

Ok - This is serious. It is not the Ph. It is the voltage. Every cell works at -25mv. Every cell renews at -50mv. This is 7.35 Ph and 7.50 Ph in solution. Cancer cells replicate at +35mv to +50mv. But also need Oxygen and nutrients to power the cell and cell growth. There is more ...much more.

Dr. Eric Berg can the blood PH even drop below 7.35? If the blood sugar drop to low we can die. Is the blood PH the same, that we can actually die if we force it to low? My theory on the blood ph and cancer is that the blood have a localized acid ph around the cancer. To combat that we need to increase our blood flow (vessel dilation) to get more blood to the cancer area and that way we get rid of the acid blood and get more alkaline blood there. We can do that by aerobic movements and eating certain foods.

Yes, the body does know what to do. And it comes at a cost to fix things. To buffer the excess acid from what is being eaten the body will rob calcium from the bones and connective tissue. That will decrease the overall health of the body over time and cause several problems.

Dr. Berg, I wish you had a store or an office where I could pick up some of your products. I live about 2 hours away from norther VA. I would drive there right now if I could get your trace minerals. I've bought a few items through Amazon like the gallbladder formula, electrolyte powder, massage tool and your wheatgrass juice powder, but my son has a fever and I really want to get the trace minerals for him. I don't trust any other product at the Vitamin Shoppe and Amazon can't deliver anything by today. I eat healthy keto (thanks to you Dr. Berg) and have been for almost 2 years and my kids do about a 75% keto diet, but my son has been extremely stressed for the last 2 weeks, with high anxiety from school and some school kids and his diet last week was bad because my husband bought the groceries and didn't get anything healthy and I even contributed by getting my kids a box of ice cream sandwiches as a "good" report card treat. I'm just wondering if the high stress, yucky diet and the fact that half his school is sick could be why he ended up with something. He hasn't been sick with anything, not even a cold since we started eating better back in early 2017. I gave him some wheatgrass juice powder and his fever did come down and I will go and get him some bell peppers, but I'm worried that he may have strep throat. I worked on the back of his neck with the massage tool to try and help him. I know the doctor is gonna prescribe and antibiotic or Tamaflu and I'm trying to avoid that if possible. Just a worried mom here :(

So should we drink ACV water or baking soda water
@jusme2888

I've wondered the same. when I fast I sprinkle a drop of baking soda in my salt water. And while alot of different people like acv while fasting, I've only been consuming it before meals bc supposedly it aids in digestion. I dont need that digestion aid while fasting. Not sure if it matters, hopefully I'm not messing anything up in me lol..

This analysis is correct. What people don’t understand is that there is no such thing as an acidic body. Your blood can never have a high pH coz of a pH buffer system. Only compartments like the stomach with sole purpose of digestion.
@t.a.4356
@t.a.4356 8 ай бұрын
The pH buffer takes electrons from your tissues, making them acid, to compensate your blood when it gets acid. But if you eat alkalizing, this buffer balances blood back by giving electrons, and that is the key for chemical health.
@leroy44
@leroy44 8 ай бұрын
@@t.a.4356 I dont know of any pH buffer system that takes electrons from tissues. What pH buffer is that? The purpose of a pH buffer system us to keep your blood at neutral pH i.e. pH ~7. "Alkaline foods" can therefore never make your blood alkaline, coz buffer system will always respond to restore normal pH. For example, bicarbonate pH buffer system is controlled by the CO2 you breath out. If your blood becomes alkaline, you will have to retain more CO2 (less breathing) to make more bicarbonate and hydrogen ions in blood to restore pH to 7. Your blood can never be alkaline unless you are severely ill or stop breathing.

This absolutely makes no sense at all people who have been alkaline for years and years are by far the healthiest people on earth. No disease, stress and tiredness. An alkaline diet is a diet you eat to give the body the minerals the body is made of. Non alkaline food is food that is not organic aka naturally occuring. I have been alkaline for a while now and I rid myself of ulcers, fybroids, bloatedness, constipation and my skin is glowing, my hair is growing in patches that it was not growing anymore, I hardly get tired and I am full of energy. The is no single illness that you can pinpoint caused by alkalinity and provide a case study.

Why is keto meant to be good for cancer treatment when it's more acidic? Man not dying is so confusing
@nataliehines7899
@nataliehines7899 2 жыл бұрын
Clean keto reduces the toxic chemicals that are causing cancer. It balances hormones that increase cancer growth. You are also eating fruits and vegetables that are high in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals etc that the body need to function properly and heal itself. Then the cycles of intermittent/prolong fasting help keep your body in a state of ketosis & autophagy.
@KatJaguar1122
@KatJaguar1122 Жыл бұрын
@@nataliehines7899 yes all that is true but most importantly, Cancer eats sugar, and a keto diet starves the cancer. A keto diet with plenty of potassium and other minerals is not going to be acid forming. Potassium is key. In fact, just get cream of tartar and drink it mixed in water and get tons of potassium which will alkalinize the body slightly.

I'm not a believer in the alkaline diet but im wondering if it's a crude method of managing mineral deficiencies from SAD . If you think of ketosis where some people run into trouble is when they don't manage their electrolytes, ketones are acidic and but potassium and magnesium are alkaline minerals. Is it possible that eating too much from one spectrum taxes your bodies ph regulatory system, and because its taxed your nutrient absorption gets messed? I know you're not changing your ph with diet but maybe the balance of minerals in the body gets screwed up. I'm aware there is no science supporting this hypothesis atm. I suspect its a general rule of association, coffee is acidic, is full of antinutrients but at the same time if you look at a raw vegan diet its deficient in amino acids.

I commented earlier. But I want to tell you another thing because it’s been some time since my last comment, and it’s been positive things. I did like 40 jumping jacks and raised my heart rate. Then ate watermelon after. Like 5 wedges. Then around 1pm I made a ton of pasta, but it was the cleanest pasta ever. No oil, no greasy. Just pasta and vegetables like broccoli, shredded carrots and cabbage, and bean sprouts. And I also cut fresh ginger and garlic and green onion to sprinkle on top when it was done. And then I went to sleep afterwards like 30min later. I was scared to sleep cuz of the acid reflux. But I slept so good. From 2pm to 9pm just now. I was knocked out, undisturbed. It was the most amazing sleep I ever had in my entire life. I think this alkaline stuff is helping me. I really think it is making my body more calmer and making me sleep so much better too. Thanks doctor! I watch all your videos
