If you're wondering how the shading happened, Basically the pancake gets darker the longer it's on the pan. So they did the darker parts first in order. Darker to lighter.

I admire anyone who can draw but this is wonderful. To see everything in 'negative' and then it turning out 'positive' Tip on turning pancakes over without splashes or trails : slide the pancake from your frying pan onto a large pan lid. Cover the lid with your frying pan and flip the whole thing over........ Keep on frying!
