Naomi Njoki, now 27 years left Kenya for Saudi Arabia two years ago in search for greener pastures.
As I scrubbed walls and toilets in Saudi, I remembered the mud house I left in Kenya, almost falling off; knowing very well that my parents did not have the ability to chase poverty out of that home, I did my best!
"I have managed to build them this house from my first contract salary. I'll be going back to Saudi soon, so that I do the finishing and then buy myself a piece of land," says a proud Naomi who hails from Gatūndū South.

Mimi nilikuja Cairo thru kulipiwa ndege na visa na a friend of mine ako uko so anawork tu job ya hao na she used to tell me analipwa 40 k and above naona haiwezekani but vile nilifika uko I thank God sai nalipwa 7 k pesa ya Cairo its equivalent to 50 k za Kenya na kwa mwezi Niko na off mbili I thank God so far so good Niko na watoi wawili mmoja nilimuacha akiwa class 4 sai ako class 7,mwingine alikuwa 8 months na juu sina mama nikamuachia my aunt sai ata mtoi hanijui kanaelekea 4 yrs can't regret kuja hapa coz after kulipiwa ndege na visa I later paid my friend

Just a concerned fellow who Is still.working here in saudi. The last time I checked the government had organized for a board to oversee the workers challenges they are are facing here.has the board checked on our salary because we are really under paid.imagine other countries maids are now being paid at 1500.while Kenyans are being being at 750,800,850 ,900.please this is very traumatizing. I wish someone could oversee that
