Your dad surprised me. He’s the first person I know who’s able to connect congee with sick food in his first try and comes up with that brilliant idea to put congee in a coffee cup for take away. He doesn’t talk often but when he does he comments on things precisely and on point, that comes only from people who have a certain level of int with such a open mind... plus he looks good. My suggestion, don’t ever try to dig his past about his popularities when he was young.

Malaysian Chinese would normally dip youtiao into coffee, red bean soup and congee (not dip but submerged them in congee), never in soy milk. Pairing soy milk with youtiao is mainly found in Northern China and Taiwan. Almost all Chinese families in Malaysia came from south of China.

Hello from Melbourne! Omg I just stumbled upon your channel and I’m in such awe!! I wish I learned more Chinese growing up (I’m from Malaysia but english was my first language at home) and I’ve suddenly had inspiration from all the Chinese tv shows I’ve been watching since COVID to try and practice more and you’ve also inspired me!! Do you have a video about how you got into learning Chinese? I’d love to know what’s inspired you. 🙌🏻

Congee is the healthiest breakfast ever... I like Cantonese style for sure

I'm Chinese. Congee is easy to digest, good for ill people. But it is not very healthy. Basically just a bowl of carb and water with high GI.

Blondie's dad, on evidence of dipping his youtiao into what's left of the changfen sauce, has that wicked natural foodie wisdom - an intuition of what foods go well together. You can't teach that sort of food smarts!

My workmates call congee as rice porridge, they said they would never want to try it, it looks w🤨. After a Chinese wedding banquet, they said they were shocked, they served the fish with the fish head on and ….. 😂🤣 I am glad to see your parents openly happily trying C foods 🙏
