My whole makeup routine is based on your techniques. As someone with patches of redness and horribly oily eyelids, I greatly appreciate how you have taught us to cover our flaws without covering the entire face. I get compliments on my skin frequently, not my makeup. I couldn’t have achieved this without your guidance Lisa, so thank you!! ❤️

I’ve been watching a lot of the older Pin point concealing videos recently, it’s such a nice technique and I think reminds us all that foundation is designed to give a sense of uniformity, not to delete every imperfection. Such a wonderful make up artist and make up historian!! Thanks for your fantastic videos 😍 and I can’t wait for the blush to be back in stock 😂

I'm really envious of people who find their perfect foundation shade, they put on a little here and there and it looks like skin, even and beautiful. By the time I actually find mine , will I have a face anymore? Lol idk. I love this , so natural and luminous!

Yes, sometimes I just use concealer around my mouth and under my eyes, and that's it (if I have a very good looking skin at that day)! You have taught me to put products on certain places. And how to put them. People think I have no makeup and I say: I have quite some products on myself 😁 (concealer, blush, powder, illuminating base, brow gel, barely-there mascara, dabbed lipstick,...)

I’m always amazed how you make expert techniques accessible for the everyday person. This look works for literally any workplace that allows make up and I could see a winged eyeliner and some sparkle on the lid for amping it up and it would still be such a good look! The skin looks so natural and glossy without looking too dewy it’s highlighted. It just looks so modern and polished!

Gosh, I love your tutorials Lisa. This technique is invaluable for someone my age (62) as I have so many variables on my face! I blame the menopause! Lisa, if you've never read "The Art Spirit", written in the 1920's by painter Robert Henri, you should check it out! You seem to have a very intuitive understanding of beauty and how to create it; I think you would feel quite in sync with a lot of the ideas in this book! And now that I'm looking at pictures of Robert Henri's paintings again, he did a lovely job of creating beautiful, almost palpable temperatures of the skin tones in his portraits. A patchwork(!) of warm and cool tones, that I think a makeup artist might appreciate. ❤️ Love your work! I've been a fan for a long time! -Kay from the U.S.

Oh I'm glad you asked us for requests! I would be so grateful for any help... My mom is having a book published this year (go mom!) and she has asked me to take her portrait for the About The Author section. She is in her 70's and has never worn makeup or used anything much for her appearance other than a simple face wash, depilatories and a hairbrush. So no facials, no procedures, no face creams or serums. As with any senior person she has some, wrinkles, sagging, discoloration, but she also spends a lot of time gardening and exposed to sun and the elements. Our goal is to just have her skin look healthy and natural on camera. We don't want to necessarily hide her age, but what are the "must-do" things for when it comes to prepping mature skin for photos?

As a working mom I obviously don't have time for all this in the mornings BUT you have taught me to be thoughtful with make up. To apply It only where I actually need it and also to be gentle with the application. I'd love to see the opposite as well. 10-minute make up for moms on the run. Using cream, multi-tasking products and preferably fingers so we don't have to wash a bunch of brushes every night. Thank you :)

I remember watching the pinpoint concealing video years ago, and it changed the way I did makeup. Seeing your results makes me realize I could use a lot less foundation than I'm currently using, and it would look amazing. The older I get the more obvious foundation gets. Especially if it settles into any lines on my face. I realize that a full pump of most foundations is just too much. That's why I appreciate the pump on your foundation bottle is significantly less than other standard pumps. I'm so glad you tried the Wayne Goss duo. It's a favorite of mine. I like how it's a little bit radiant, but not really glowy. As somebody with the fair skin tone, it's a great match for a little bit of contour and bronze but not too much. Thanks again for making this video, and I can't wait until your blush is back in stock. I have three of the shades, and would love to pick up some more.

This is the look I would like to achieve for every day. Fresh, radiant and plumped skin. Suffering from acne since I was 13, dark circles (not very dark, but you can see them, so for me the concealer is essential) and mixed-oily skin, it becomes difficult for me to have a no make-up-make up result. I've been following her for decades and for me Lisa Eldridge is the only and inimitable. With few products she always manages to create a masterpiece. ❤️

I’ve been doing something similar for the lashes for years now. I’d load the lashes with lots of coats from root to tip then I would remove the excess from the tips by pinching off the mascara. Then I would poke around with my fingertip a little more to ensure my lashes have a good shape, right separation etc. My fingers would be covered black but who cares! It’s a really effective technique

I use an eyelash comb while the mascara is still damp between coats. Does the same job and creates the look of having more lashes when each lash is separated out.

Gorgeous!! I would love to watch you do your full patchwork technique on a very mature woman for a real life every day look. I’m 73 with cared for skin, not many wrinkles, however I have larger pores in my t-zone, especially on my nose and some uneven textures. I live in Florida so I believe less is more! I have been leaning toward much less foundation and concealer and more use of eye shadow palettes on the lids, with mascara and a thin smudgy liner. Bronzer, blush and lip which varies from a glowy rose gold balm to natural lip color, which for me is a muted mauve with a bit of cocoa. My brow take the most effort because they have been over plucked since the 60’s. I do use pencil and powder and will also try the pen as you showed for the lighter touch on the inner ends where I need it most. Any suggestions or acknowledgments would be loved greatly! You are brilliant and lovely. Thanks so much for the inspo! Happy and Blessed New Year♥️

Your base technique shares some similarities with my art/design philosophies! Spend more time LOOKING, observing and checking your piece of artwork as you go. As you go, always step back from the large mirror, or from your canvas, to see how your marks affect the piece overall. Add only what you need and only as much as you need and no more. Everything placed down should be a result of what you see as necessary while observing. Everything you place down should have a purpose. Everything you place down should support and take you one step closer to your vision, even if you don't yet know what exactly your vision is. You experiment as you go, but you should constantly be reflecting and always asking yourself what affect am I causing with each brush stroke? Anything that doesn't serve to support it, is extraneous. I see some makeup artists on KZfaq that have their routine that they know works but they never respond to the actual face in front of them. They slap on their base in the same exact way no matter what and only vary it up when it comes to the eye makeup or occasionally the lip.

Great video as always! What I would really like to see is another acne covering tutorial, something similar to this but on a model with acne. Your original one on acne from several years ago is great, but it seems like the visual quality of your videos has improved so much since then that it would be amazing to have an updated video where we could see even more clearly what you're doing.

This looks amazing but you definitely need your foundation to match your skin colour perfectly, which is something I really struggle with. If you haven’t already, can you make a video on how to match exactly your skin tone?

Love this technique, Lisa! Minimal makeup applied strategically can subtly transform a face. I've learned so much from your videos!!

Hi Lisa, patchwork skin is such a great analogy. I have similar skin to yourself, combination with a more oily t zone and some open pores. I've been using this technique as I've got older, particularly for nightime skincare but you've given me the confidence to apply differing skincare products during the day. I love your natural make up tutorials, they are perfect for an older bird like me! I want to look polished but not overdone. Take care x

Beautiful. I smile and sigh over your skills. Even, radiant skin, luminous eyes, shining lips. You don't apply makeup, you paint with makeup. Thank you. Happy New year!! xo

Hi LIsa! I think I've been watching your videos for about 10 ears, is that possible? I discovered on an italian newspaper that a british mua was posting interesting tutorials online. And I started to watch: I remember for example the Elizabeth Taylor video, where a blonde, nordic model was trnsformed in Liz; a lot of revealing tutorials, that time you became David Bowie, your constant kindness, your gorgeous cat Beth, and so on. For me, you're a sort of friend, I appreciate so much your job and the way you do it. I immagine that it must be a little difficult with all your committments, but if I was living in the UK and not in Italy - Roma - I'll do all I can to be made up by you, even if I'm an old lady (67)... So, congratulations and be sure I'll watch with pleasure every video you'll like to post. And I apologoze for my english - hoping you could understand what I tried do say...

What a lovely end to my day. So interesting, especially the jagged edge advice. I’ll be trying that out tomorrow since the hot/cold/heating on/heating off is getting my skin down!
