I just stumbled upon your channel and I love your openness about PCOS! I was diagnosed with PCOS over 6 years ago and I'm still finding my way with curing it naturally. I went off the pill about 1,5 years ago and my body kind of "reset" itself and my periods are quite regular now which is kind of amazing with thinking the doctors always recommended to stay on the pill! I love your channel and all the tips you have regarding PCOS, skincare and everything that comes with it, thank you for sharing your story of PCOS, means a lot to all us ladies struggling with PCOS!

I'm so glad I stumbled across this video ☺. I new at 14 that something was wrong when my periods stopped gradually and all the horrible symptoms started 😕. It took me another 6 years to get a diagnosis at age 20. I was told to lose weight and try to forget about it!....I switched doctors and was given dianette to take until I wanted to have children. I spent 10 years im the pill and am now 33 with no change in severity of the symptoms. It's very distressing to deal with but somehow hearing your story has brought some solice and hope ☺.

Omg homegirl, your channel could not have come at a better time for me. Your story sounds SOOOO MUCH like mine! Like 85% of it is all the same crap I experience, with the exception of not having a fantastic diet and exercise regime. It is the worlds most frustrating thing to experiment with different medications, especially if they were going to suggest psychiatric meds to combat the hormone imbalance. I have had some of the worst moods and pains and feelings being on meds like metformin and zoloft. They made me so sick all the time, just like you. But ever since getting off of all my meds and taking a more natural route, in just a month, I can feel a MAJOR difference already. Granted, I'm new to it and still have a long way to go, but I can already tell this could be a solution that will work for me. Much love! You've definitely earned another subscriber. :)

Ok first of all your username makes me so happy. Second of all Im so happy you found a space where we're all dealing with the same thing. Im so sorry youre going through this experimenting lifestyle, its awful, frustrating and EXPENSIVE. Babes metaformin I kid you not made me permanently nauseous while I was on it. I had to stop. The natural version of metaformin that works just as well is berberine, check it out! The down side with going natural is its more pricey, and requires a lot more experimentation. But I think it forces us to be in tune with our bodies and figure out what works for us. Im so happy youre feeling better!! Please keep me updated on your progress we're all here for you! xx

because of my pcos I gained 60 pounds in a year but this was right before being diagnosed so I always thought it was just my depression. but yes I'm not on the pill. I currently have nexplanon and I'm unsure if its the same as the pill when it comes to pcos. I got nexplanon a week ago and got diagnosed with pcos officially earlier today. ive always assumed I had it considering all the matching symptoms. I'm currently trying to find the proper meal plan for me to start losing the weight and also natural ways to reverse this to the best of my abilities. I felt so alone and lost for years not understanding my body but I'm so thankful for youtubers like you who are posting about it and making it more visible.

Hey girl! I know what it feels like to be completely lost and discouraged. I was diagnosed at the age of 21 after gaining 100 lbs in a 2 year period. I have been one the same journey as you! It is a hard one especially because a lot of people may not have it or do not know what it is. I recently shared my PCOS story and I hope you watch it and can relate to me. I talk about my depression and the feelings of being alone in this journey and I really want to build a strong community of women who can relate to me. PLEASE check it out and message me if you have any questions. Lots of love.

Hello! Just wanted to say thanks for making these videos. They've been really helpful. I live in the UK and had a PCOS diagnosis for about 9 years. Its really refreshing to be able to try something non-medical. There has only ever been limited options presented to me and kind of a consensus that ut should just get used to the symptoms...I'm going to try some of the supplements and products you've mentioned if I can get my hands on them. Keep making these videos!! :-)

Hi Emma!! Thank you so much for the amazing compliment. I completely empathize with your situation. I was listening to a podast yesterday and the doctors were all saying how crucial it was for women to be on the pill. Makes me so upset. Yea definitely try out the supplements! I would try out one at a time and then slowly add them in to ensure they're working for you. Keep me updated xx

Hi!! It doesnt matter if your thin, plenty of women are thin and have PCOS. I would definitely end your curiosity and just go and get some blood work done/ an ultrasound. Jessica Diana agreed, it actually took me seeing another doctor to get properly diagnosed and treated. I then asked to be referred to a specialist who put me on one round of provera. That was 2 years ago and since then my periods have regulated and I have started ovulating quite regularly. I have been trying new ways to regulate my hormones as well and I’m finding yoga has been a blessing for that. If you haven’t tried it I highly recommend! I had the same experience with the doctors, so I did some research ofmy own and bought the following: spearmint tea (2 a day), flaxseed (1 tea spoon a day) and choline & inositol (2 pills a day). Take it easy on ur self ok. Finally got pregnant at age 39 with natural herbs after 11 years of my infertility in marriage.. I met a testimony of a woman who a traditional doctor helped with his herbs who had PCOS and as a result could not conceive and after taking his herbal medication she took in..so I took his number which is +234 8129605087. And called him and explain to him my problem so he told me he will help me with some herbs that will help me to shrink off the fibroids within few weeks and fertility supplement to help me conceive fast because that was my problem, I had diagnosed some multiple fibroids from my last scan.. so he said I should have no worries...so after discussing with my hubby we both decided we should get the herbs from him...so which he later sent them to me..and he told me how to be taking the medication ... so just after 5 weeks of drinking the native medicine I started feeling very pale and tired always.. so I decided to meet my medical doctor for a check up, and to my greatest surprise my doc told me that am 2 weeks pregnant and was free from fibroid...I was so so happy that day.. so I called Mr kure and told him everything.. am so happy and that is why I am informing any woman facing any infertility issue to reach out to Mr kure for help today, just call him on WhatsApp on this number +2348129605087 and see if he can help ok.. or probably send him an email at gokoherbal@gmail.com.. wish you better health dear

I just got diagnosed yesterday at my local hospital and when I was given the news I collapsed onto my boyfriend and cried my eyes out because I was not expecting to be told that. On October 21st which was when my period stopped since it was irregular that month, I started getting terrible abdominal pains and I thought it was my appendix so I chose to sleep it off and when I woke up the pain wasn't as bad as the night before so I went on with my day until the pain came back on the 26th so I went to the local clinic since my doctor was on vacation and he told me that it was a viral gastroenteritis and to eat rice, wheat bread, steamed veggies for 2 days and if the pain remains then go back to him or go to the hospital. So I did as he was told except go back to him or the hospital since I was afraid and my doctor returned early for vacation on the 31st so I went to go see her and she felt my stomach and had me take a urine sample and she said "It could be an early symptom for appendicitis or a cyst so you should go to the hospital asap" again I didn't go and chose to take my baby sister trick or treating and that night my stomach hurt and I ended up finally going to the hospital yesterday and they had me take another urine sample, blood test and finally a cat scan which was how they saw the cysts in my ovaries including a large one on my right side which explains why I've been getting pain in that area so now I have to see my primary doctor and a gynecologist. I'm so nervous and my anxiety is getting the best of me and I wanted to thank you for making this video and I'm so sorry that the doctor chose to try and fix you with birth control and I'm glad you sued her ass. I just feel like this is a bad dream and that I don't have PCOS since I've always wanted to be a mother someday and give my folks grandchildren which I hope can happen!! Here are my symptoms 1. pain on my right side 2. sleep apnea and being drowsy no matter how much I sleep 3. unwanted hair growth on face and body 4. bloating on my waist area and stomach 5. irregular period 6. Acne 7. Depression mostly mood swings

Oh my GOSHH!! Babes good thing you went to get that checked. oversized cysts are a serious deal and you could have been so much trouble. Honestly, as long as you take care of your body, you WILL have children. I know so many women with PCOS who have had children, a lot of doctors say the most ridiculous things to scare us but never give the other options or benefit of doubt. I legit have the EXACT same symptoms as you:( its so overwhelming which is why I think we get things like depression and anxiety because the symptoms are all encompassing. Any news thus far?

I was also prescribed metformin + inositol last summer after 2 years of going off the pill and having extremely irregular cycles. Stopped taking it because it made me break out so much! After going to an endocrinologist to check my hormones a few months ago, he went furious that another doctor prescribed me metformin beause it's meant to be for people with diabetes (meaning insulin resistance/no insulin AND high blood sugar) or for people with PCOS who are obese. After many many years of going to different doctors and experimenting with different pills, I believe that you really have to make a research on your own before taking any medication doctors give you
@JessicaDiana
@JessicaDiana 6 жыл бұрын
How are you doing on the metaformin? That stuff made me so sick for some reason. Ugh I feel you. Some doctors are absolutely CLUELESS. A lot of doctors are prescribing metaformin as a default for PCOS without really thinking twice about it. Inositol works wonders for me, I notice if I dont take it regularly I dont get my period regularly either. Hope youre doing better now!!! xxx
@LenaChatz
@LenaChatz 6 жыл бұрын
I stopped metformin and inositol after 45 days because it was making me sick too, but most importantly because it gave me the worst and most painful acne of my life (on my forehead, where I never broke out before - I only break out on my cheeks and chin so I knew it was because of my new medication). That was last summer, now I am unfortunatelly again on the pill, after many painful and expensive blood tests it seems that it's the only thing that's suitable for me right now. Yasmin & Androcur for 6 months and then I will go back for more blood tests. Previous tests showed I have low blood sugar and insulin resistance, however I am not in danger for blood clots or CVD so that makes me suitable for hormonal birth control I guess. Really hoping I will soon switch to something else that will help with my insulin resistance and not the effects of it (acne, irregular cycles, cysts etc) because I really don't want to be on the pill for much longer!

I’m experiencing cystic acne on my back, chest & discoloration on my inner thighs & more towards my private area. I’m very discouraged right now. I’m too insecure to be vulnerable with a man or do anything with him because I’m embarrassed of my body. I’m depressed & am filled with anxiety. Hey Natalie, Please, don't despair as somewhere out there there's hope and a man will look at you differently. Please, if you don't mind I can encourage you start surround yourself with people like Jessica as she's been there, still hopeful. Your weight issues can be also impacted by stress as most time in my own experience most of my clients dealing with is either they did have major stress or dealing with one in their current situation. Stress is number one killer of peaceful hormones in women or either did lots of YoYo dieting which leave their hormones mess up. I suggest you start finding a fine line or activity that can bring lots of happiness while at same time you start focusing on food that works in your gut bacteria to speed up hormone balance. Remove sugar, carbohydrates out of your meals, increase good fat intake, sleep early or get quality sleep as is best remedy to balance hormones and do lots of meditation or visualization of your end results. Anyhow, I don't want to bore you with all my thoughts and my wish is that all workout for Ya sooner. Stay in faith and all soon will work out.

This is the 3rd video on your channel I am watching, love the way you explain things. I do have a comment regarding the doc that said you would die if you didnt get on the pill min 7:19, He did not express it correctly and has nothing to do with the pill nor metformin but it does have to do with irregular bleeding. This, unfortunately, happened to me, it is called endometrial hyperplasia and it was BAD, luckily it never became cancerous but it could have if left untreated, had to have a D&C to get better.
@JessicaDiana

Thank you so much for your support! Ugh yes you are so so right. Are you doing ok now? what is a D&C?
@pao88tica
@pao88tica 4 жыл бұрын
Jessica Diana Yes, thanks for asking. Way better no hyperplasia on my last biopsy!! Pretty thrilled about it. D&C is the short form for “Dilation and curettage” it’s basically a procedure to remove tissue from inside your uterus, they removed the lining of the uterus which was way thicker than normal.

I was diagnosed about a few weeks ago at age 26 by a fertility dr. She prescribed BC but I didn’t even start it without giving the natural way a try first. I’m taking: -balance by Alani nu (got my period in 3 weeks taking it) -vitamin D3 -prenatal -Maca capsules. Does anybody else reccomend anything else?

Side effect of metformin for some is nausea and stomach problems, hyperglycemia is elevated sugar, I think you meant hypoglycemia, but even then being nauseous wasnt indicative of hypoglycemia, I don’t think you needed metformin but could watch your diet
@JessicaDiana
@JessicaDiana 6 жыл бұрын
Hey JW!! Yes I did mean hypoglycemia!! I mentioned that to a few questioning viewers in the past, bad mistake! As for the doctor comment, yes I also told wrote to viewers that this is a definite possibility, but its also equally not a possibility. What made me upset was that my doctor never mentioned that it wasnt a possibility, only that it was, and that I had to take birth control, instead of exploring other avenues. My naturopath explored all avenues and supplements, and 4 weeks off the pill I got my period. So I think like you said, its important for girls to know the risk of not getting their periods, but its also important to give them more options than just birth control. Hope this explains it xxx

I was told that I have PCOS 2 weeks ago and already, everything just feels difficult. I haven't had a period in almost a year (this is the second time), I've gained so much weight that I haven't been able to lose no matter how hard I try, and the worst is how much I'm having to change my diet seemingly overnight, even if I do go slow. I'm a really picky eater and so this just destroyed me. I'm trying to stay hopeful because I know it's not the end of the world, but it's frustrating (sorry I really needed to vent)

I'm like a year late to this video, but I'm trying to figure out if I have PCOS... I have a belly, ton of acne scars and acne that flares up more so around my periods... Right now i've missed my period and my acne has acted up again... I've been depressed for around 2/3 years... Self-diagnosed that is, but I'm only 17 (18 in september) so while my parents are those that underestimate how common depression is, I can't go anywhere to get a mental checkup. Sigh
@JessicaDiana
@JessicaDiana 5 жыл бұрын
Hey Daiz I'm so sorry your feeling this way. I'm not a medical or holistic doctor so I can't diagnose you. But if you look at your symptoms they match perfectly with those of PCOS . Most women with PCOS have depression (due to imbalance of hormones and the result of PCOS ), weight gain especially around the belly , acne , etc. However, you could still be going through puberty which is why you have acne. I would get your bloods tested by a doctor to see if they're ok. You can also do something like the " Dutch" test that measures your hormones throughout the day. Also do you have access to a therapist to help with your depression. I'm so sorry you're going through all of this I can empathize with you so much. Let me know if you have any questions, make sure to watch my supplements video to see if you can access some of those to help with your symptoms.

However the last 3-4 months I've noticed theyve become more irregular taking around 8 weeks for my period to come . Now I'm having light bleeding / brown discharge which is worrying after having two missed periods . I got checked by the dr who said my cervix looks healthy I'm due a scan and smear test soon as jm a tad worried I have noticed that I've been getting a few black hairs under my chin for around a year now I noticed one a while ago and plucked but have noticed it more, and also on my tummy. . My doctor suspects I have PCOS, but if I do, I don't realy have a reason to go on the pill. I don't have anything to fix, yeah I have facial hair and my period cycles are sometimes a little bit too long and sure the pill will tighten up my cycle but I don't want to have periods more often, fuck that, I appreciate them when they're slightly longer than normal. Because who wants to deal with blood? And plus I'm afraid the birth control will make me gain and give me acne and change my body in a way that I won't like.

Hey ashley! Yea I 100% agree with you. Doctors seem to be pushing the pill on women for any symptom you have for anything. Makes you wonder if they're getting a pushback of some sort. I think you should stick to your idea and not go on the pill. Definitely not necessary. Keep me updated xx

I believe Drs are like when looking for love or someone special; not every Dr or gynecologist will help everyone patient who needs help including as fitness coach can't help everyone or everybody. I'm sure the Drs you went too they care as just in they were not meant for you. I hope all is sorted out with you include found a Dr who really cares and partly you're feeling much better after all.

Do you think that pcos is actually produced because of birth control pills? You mentioned you had acne but no other symptoms until you were on the pill... the acne itself could have been because of some intestinal flora problem...? Not trying to diagnose but I feel like the pill was what made everrrrrything worse for me.
@JessicaDiana

Honestly, I cant say as Im not a scientist or doctor, but I think for me, it definitely was the birth control. I was put on it for acne at 13, before I hit puberty or was even developed. Then I was encouraged to stay on it for over 10 years after that. When I went off its like my body completely forgot how to produce those hormones. The pill also has been studied to see its effect on gut flora and they are finding it does.... hence all the weight gain...make sure to watch my gut video and I explain this.
