Hi sir good review. To start if Im a local just a few years in, didnt really know what a fan expo was honestly. I did the 3day thing just last year when cobra kai was there. One thing people thought me was to buy a small chair from academy sports the real tree one for ten bucks. Helped me now on other places I go, any major convention or even event at that matter a line is inevitable regardless of location. I was there just a day this year because of a late guest announcement danielle panabaker. Im biting the gun this year for san antonio superhero con and like you ill be walking in uncharted territory and hopefully it pans out the way i want it too because this one is even pricier that our own fan expo. I just pulled the trigger because it was elozabeth olsen coming and i wanted tony parker (he cancelled last year). The bad thing this one doesnt have a public transpo like we do have the dart. Anyway I feel your experience, i couldnt even last 3 hours on saturday because the AC was off and there were more people as usual!.

Hello, good review. First off I want to say, I did not go to this convention but have looked to possibly going to this one in the future and your experience and feedback is greatly appreciated. I will say a fan’s experience at these cons make or break if they come back or not. As much as people want to say Dallas Fan Exp was organized (been following on the group page), miscommunications leads to disorganization. While the volunteers may not know as much, they should at least be trained enough to understand what is happening in their area and be able to communicate to a higher up if issues occurs or be able to ask a higher up questions and inform the guest. For a huge event, like you have said, most of what people have complain about or brought attention to can be easily fix such as a police pointing where to park or directing traffic. Others like having an autograph time frame, which I don’t understand the issue, limit the amount of autographs per guest on the floor please. As much as fans do not want to be treated like cattle, celebrities/stars also don’t want to be treated like a show pony and stay until closing or pass closing. For celebrities that have stay pass closing, are troopers and are incredible and fans should feel especially lucky the celebrities were willing to do so. I hope Dallas Fan expo and future cons learn from fans and actually take what people are saying in consideration to make the experience better for everyone. Also hope you go to other cons in the future to see how others are run and your experience with them.

Halfway through. Great video so far. I do think some of this comes down to being a con newbie. I never been to this one so this mogjt not be information provided but most cons I been to including a different fan expo has information about getting there and where to park and stuff. The fan expo Philly has signs on the doors of what entrances to use and that info was provided online as well. There is also a map of the floor that was provided there alongside one on the app the con provided thst had where autographs and stuff were. Not totally blaming you here. This con seems very disorganized and a large part of that is most of the workers there are volunteers who tend to know very limited things.

Well sounds like you are a first time con goer for sure. Any research would of saved you a ton of strife. They literally have an app that would of saved you a ton of trouble and not missed any autographs. Normally no photos unless otherwise posted is the rule and they had last year for sure signs posted on the columns stating such, this is a common thing people who been to cons know. You're also lucky you got quotes many don't do that and some don't acknowledge you at all. I've had the 5 minute conversation and the sign and move along so seen it both ways often times this is due to the handler, a celeb gets a bad handler they can get sour fast. Remember you don't know what their day was like and you got a quote and everything you were after so the whole kingpin response sounds kind of petty in my opinion. A lot of your complaints in my opinion were based off of not prepping and inexperience. I've been there, Texas Frightmare, NYCC and Emerald City, you have to do your prep work. All in all I try skipping the middle day at a con, always a shit show, ALWAYS!!
