Today we went showjumping at CCR equestrian
It was a very eventful day with Gem who showjumped amazing for Ivy. They had a little accident which you will see knocked Ivy a little bit but she did STAY ON !!! They both finished the course brilliantly.
Gem jumped the 80cms Open for 6th place
& it all got a little bit crazy in the Springboard 90/95cms class.

That was so cute, right at the start when the 2 girls were grooming. Gem muzzled Ivy's chest and then looked at the bucket with the treats. Lol

This takes me back to when my granddaughter was Ivy's age. I was always a nervous wreck at the shows trying to make sure she had everything she needed when she needed it. What a trooper and a real talent Ivy is! Thanks for sharing!

Love Ivy so I don't want this to come across in the wrong way. It rather looks like barrel racing over fences. Ivy's lower leg and base needs to strengthened. The pony is quite gamey and likes to go. Ivy basically is holding onto the reins if the pony takes a strong tug, she will be butt over tea kettle. She has zero fear factor which could be good and bad. Would take her irons away and jumping courses to increase her core and to use her seat and legs. She is quite a sweetheart and memorizing courses! Impressive. "You are better off jumping 10 cm too small for 3 weeks longer than jumping 10 cm too big for 3 minutes. - James Oakden

Ivy, you have done so well that day even though gem got a little bit out of control because of the pole, but you know that’s not your fault and sometimes that will happen to us equestrians and just think you did so well you came clear and you got sixth place you jump, bigger than adults, jump, and in that 90 cm class, you would’ve spot some adults in there doing the class but here comes you the amazing Ivy so a big well done Ivy you’ve done so well with your riding ❤🎉

Your daughter is very brave but she doesn’t have the seat for the size jumps she is attempting and going backwards to master things like a proper seat isn’t a failure! All of her stabilization shouldn’t come from such a tight grip on the reins bc the horse need only shake her head hard enough and Ivy will be off. Good luck going forward Ivy! You have the utmost potential to be an absolutely excellent rider and congrats on all your successes, despite your falls you always get back up and dust yourself off and you’re ready to try again and that can’t be taught you just gotta have it and you do! Again, good luck going forward!!

Ivys ponies are super but they all do need to be ridden in certain ways, this pony needs to be ridden like this. If you watch Ivys other videos you will notice she rides every single pony or horse so differently

@jumpingwithivy I watch them all as I myself have kids 10, 7, 5 and 3 and I do enjoy seeing what other moms do with their kiddos! I think she's doing fab but as much as ponies need ridden (which we have a few of our own going the same way) our kiddos def need to have the seat for the jumps, she absolutely did fab in the 80 and as you say the pony needs ridden so perhaps more shows at 80 until those are completely easy and nbd and then move up to 90+. Also, just wanted to say I know Ivy has a ton of people who comment nastily on her videos im not one of them genuinely just sharing but if these type of comments aren't welcome I also don't mind just being silent and watching bc I don't mean anything negative by it in the slightest! My 7 and 5 year old daughters love watching Ivy so apologies if I've bugged yall!

I have to say, I'm very impressed by your riding. You are so brave and talented for your age. Even though you were hurt you carried on like a warrior well done! It reminds me that one time where I was jumping a horse and she stopped in front of the jump. However she felt that I was about to fall off and she lifted up her head to stop me from falling. I stayed on thanks to her but I really hurt my chest. I'm so glad she did this because I was afraid of jumping at the time and I would have had a hard time jumping again with a fall. Keep on going Ivy ♥️

Be Really careful. I was teaching my mare to jump and she ran out on a jump. I fell under her, got kicked in the jaw (broke my jaw) and flew back to a fence where i ended up fracturing my neck.

How did the accident happen? I thought I watched all through really carefully, looking out for that specific moment, but all I saw was Ivy crying and being comforted by mum, and I didnt see anywhere in the video where she had a bandage over her eye. And I dont understand the video title - how did the pony save her. It'd be great if someone could clarify for me, I feel really thick!

Something happens at about 10.15. A pole falls, Ivy pitches forward, maybe hits her face when Gem does a huge leap and rebalances Ivy? Then Ivy loses it for a moment but goes back and finishes. Something like that. It’s hard to see, I agree.
