Based on my inspirations from a KZfaq video by Ali Abdaal at the start of 2021 that uses his laptop as his home PC’s main unit, I have started to use Apple ecosystem completely for my devices since 2021. I regret that I bought a 2017 MacBook Air several years ago, so I am using it as the main unit for my home PC along with a new 2020 MacBook Pro (Intel) as my laptop. I am continuing using an old monitor, a USB 3.0 hub and an external hard drive on my desk like yours. By using Apple products and OS, I can boost my productivity significantly by synchronising data between my Apple computers, iPhone and Watch. I don’t use a Mac with an M1 chip because my programming or Computer Science courses may require Windows that do not support the new chip (and maybe some outdated software). Your desk design and setup is very productive and helpful for me and I know the busyness of university students from this video. Thanks for sharing!

@@ArcherNewton usually Spotify +discord, excel sheets, PDFs. If I really need a second landscape screen I just spin the monitor.

Hey Archer! Love the setup, could I ask how you reduced the friction to start study on there and not get distracted by temptations?

Thank you! Usually you get distracted by things if you can see them, so I might chuck my phone in a drawer or on my bed across the other side of the room. It's good to write a distraction cheat sheet, so if you notice something that distracts you write it down and then next time you sit down to study make sure you remove that distraction. Hope that helps!

ABSOLUTELY. You can pick up a 1080p monitor for 50 bucks on facebook marketplace and it will change your life. Just need to make sure you have PC or laptop that has enough RAM/GPU to run both
