@@Sam_A2he problem is that even since the time of the Prophet PBUH, many misguided branches were slowly being created that were not in line with the true meaning of Islam. Are they all still muslim, yes, but some are not upon the haqq. If we simply refer to ourselves as muslims without clarifying aqeeda and manhaj, it is easy to be grouped in with misguided sects. That is why we call ourselves Salafis, or "upon the salaf", to distinguish the truth from the falsehood.
