This looks very exciting for someone like me who doesn't own any Playstation consoles and has only played 1 hour of the og game on Switch. That final sequence with Aerith praying is in my opinion one of the most important moments in gaming history. We'll see what happens this time

I lost it when I saw Cloud & Aerith about to kiss. We are finally getting the “love that never came to be” in the OG. It always felt like this is where it was going before she sacrificed herself for the planet (without expecting to die but still). I can’t believe we are finally getting parts that felt missing and also a new story to speculate about. 😭🙏🏻

I'm ALL IN on the timeline shenanigans, I hope it pays off

Beautiful song, but also the lyrics are so sad. T-T I feel there are couple of options on what COULD happen. 1. THAT scene will still play out about the same way it did in the OG. However, there could be a twist and after all of it happens... the epilogue is she wakes up in the other timeline with Zack being there and she is self-aware of everything that has happened up until that moment. 2. Zack (or someone/thing) shows up to save her, but something else just as dramatic will happen. There are some other ideas that are floating around in my own brain... but the end result? This game is going to WRECK the crap out of our feelings and we're NOT ready for it. I know I'm not. T_T

This is gonna be SO EXCITING!!! We finally saw Cid and he is looking and sounding so awesome and so is Dyne too! However what Marlene just said about Aerith, don't jump to conclusions just yet cause something different might still happen that'll save her from dying this time hopefully. Wait does that mean Aerith is going to be rebirthed? Like how it was in Japanese FF7 OG?

Before the servers shut down for good you should really play Dissidia Final Fantasy Oprah Omnia and do the story up until the Final Fantasy 7 chapter, because I think that’s closer to the direction we’re gonna go with the story. Basically without spoiling too much Zack isn’t concerned with saving his friends after figuring out all of this, but more concerned with stopping the source and saving Sephiroth himself. He considers himself dying and not being there to help his friend his biggest failure. Also, if anything I don’t think Cloud or Zack will save Aerith remember this Sephiroth doesn’t want Aerith to die, because he knows it’s the reason he lost. I wouldn’t be surprised if Future Sephiroth saved Aerith from the Past Sephiroth if they wanted to go there or even if they set up the scene and pulled a just kidding.

I think Zack will be 100% playable because he has materia in his sword

i remember this game coming out when i was 20 ( yes i am THAT old ), and i am pretty stoked to play rebirth. remake had a few flaws ( like the guardians of destiny, meeting sephiroth WAY to soon and some added story like the end battle ) that did not sit quite right with me. but overall the game still looks better then FF16 and i am sure SE will not screw up rebirth as much after the critique they got last time around. just a few more days left.

I think the twist's going to be that it'll look like we can prevent "you know what" but then it happens anyways, however since we have two parallel timelines or something like that, in the other timeline "you know what" doesn't happen, and at the end when the whole timeline thing gets fixed everyone is brought back to the same single timeline, so at the end we actually manage to kinda prevent "you know what" from happening.

When this came on, I literally turned away... I don't want anymore footage of FF7: Rebirth or anything than can possibly be spoilers. I'm already sold, it's my most anticipated game by far... I will say this though, to me FF7 is all about team Tifa vs team Aerith, and from the glimpses I saw of this, it looked like it featured a lot of Aerith. So team Aerith people were probably excited by this.

Squeenix seriously wants to give us the hope that we can save her... Only to take it away at the very end and give us more DESPAIR.

I could see us getting thrown a curveball with Aerith. I think somehow the black materia/Cloud will be the one to deal the final blow.

As much as people Love Aerith I do think square has done well up to this point to develop her character and give most hope that destiny will change as she will be kept alive. But what I really hope for, is that they still kill here off as it’s such a powerful character development arc that rarely happens and leading people into a false sense of security of this changed destiny will make the impact far greater!

This Aerith is too precious to die. They will kill Tifa this time around and find a way to go back to the OG timeline to bring her back. This timeline's Tifa have serious trust issues with Cloud and she just feels something is wrong. She will find out what Aerith is about to do and take her place, willingly. The third game will be called Reunion for that reason: all three time lines converging and reuniting with old and dear friends. That being said, sorry to sink some ships, but Aerith belongs with Zack. When Cloud dream with her in her mother's house, she is pretty clear she knows how he feels, but he can't fall in love with her.

"Is aerith really gonna sing like that?" I hope not. Her voice wouldnt sound right belting a power ballad like she sung it at the awards. Needs to be sung softer.

The fact that marlene warns about aerith's death is a hint that she won't die this time (hence no need for surprise) and a cheap way to "scare" people. However, if she doesn't dies this time, I will be veeery disappointed, as it's what made this series special. I am afraid they might ruin the story.

Regarding zack: It's a separate timeline I doubt he's alive in our gang timeline cause imagine zack's cloud meeting our cloud too much chaos would happen, they're gonna show us an alternative universe where things play out differently because zack survived there. I do find it interesting that in Zack's universe all of avalanche, except biggs is alive, and yet both Aerith and Cloud are the only ones left and are both unconscious, very interesting cause remember apart from sephiroth aerith and cloud are vital with the world's fate
