By the time the kabukimono took a boat to Narukami to seek an audience with the Raiden Shogun about the situation, it was already too late.

Even if they told Ei she would not care, afterall tatarasuna is described in the text as a small incident not needing to be paid any mind. She ignored a civil war and let a forgein nation invade, and lets not forget that she would have known about dottore and scaramouche's incident considering she can see all that pertains to eternity and he's obviously a threat. Nobody could reach Ei, and even if they could she wouldnt care. That was the point of the archon quest.

@@Fuphu The line about her knowing everything pertaining to eternity was so vague and poorly written. It’s obvious that Ei knows only what the Shogun puppet knows, and that if the Shogun puppet is misinformed or kept in the dark about something, like the civil war, then so is Ei. The point of the Archon Quest is that Ei cares about her people and her nation, but that her methods were too extreme. She expels the Fatui from Inazuma after their plot is exposed, abolishes the Vision Hunt and Sakoku Decrees, and fights a 500 year-long duel just to prove that her resolve to protect Inazuma and her people are just as strong as before. Hell, even in the recent Itto rock and roll event, she has a line where she says that her people cannot be made to suffer as they did in the past. Those are not the words or actions of a ruler who doesn’t care about their people.

@@themapplez I didnt say she doesnt care for her people as a whole, but she does not care as long as it doesn’t affect her nation’s ideals of eternity, these ideals include most inazumans being alive (not not necessarily thriving). The point of the archon quest wasnt to change her methods of caring for her people, it was to get her to abandon her current idea of eternity because she’s been a willing recluse refusing to listen. When you mention Teppei, the people of watatsumi, the vision hunt decree, the sakoku decree, the tenryou comission’s abuse of power and blatant xenophobia, among MANY other issues, she says they not word for word but in essence “its sad it happened yeah but when im done that wont be an issue anymore so…..Imma keep doing what im doing). Ei’s first story was about fully convincing her as well as showing her humans exist on individual levels and still mean something. Ei’s second story is her acting on her changed ideals proving to us she has changed. Also in regards to her knowing only what the shogun does is blatantly wrong, we’re shown that the tricomissions did not mention the delusions among other things to her, Ei even confirms this herself, she also has 0 informants as she was specifically known for not talking to anyone for 500 years (hence why she didnt meet scaramouche to begin with). Her line about her knowing about things pertaining to eternity is likely literal, her sklls show eye symbols and she even has the crimson moon behind her which is said to have a massive leering eye, the voice lines of her skills talk about watching over stuff and so on. If you want more I could go on, but the truth is she just didnt care for anything aside from her obsession. And with Eternity being closest to heavinly principles perhaps it resonates from the gnosis the most (as we know gnosis hold their welders obsession) causing her immense hyperfixation. Lastly, I dislike raiden shogun for how the story has treated her story arc but as a character she was great. Her lack of care, her hyperfixation among other things is very similar to younger zhongli not understanding human emotions nor being able to understand humanity’s value. Guizhong helped Morax and the traveller helped Ei.

Fr, the “All of his trauma was just misunderstandings” I see at times make me want to write whole entire essays about how his character is so much more than that(though I don’t blame ppl for thinking such tho, just really wish his tragically beautiful character and story was noticed more)

I literally love you for writing this, this is my thoughts exactly. No matter her intentions(though she had no malice in her heart doing this), what she did was still no more than leaving a small child alone in a place in the middle of nowhere. Perhaps he was never meant to wake up, perhaps things were better this way, but does that really justify all the pain she so indirectly caused?(Of course, there are more sides to the story than just one, and Ei genuinely did just make a mistake, not knowing the consequences of her actions, but people can suffer indescribable amounts of pain and grief from such a "small" thoughtless error in one's actions.)

Something worth noting: The most militarily powerful nation on the continent needed to involve three Harbingers, 400 years of planning (starting with Dottore sabotaging the Mikage Furnace), presumably a massive amount of resources, and had to corrupt 2/3 of the Inazuman government just to create a small gap in the system that an emotionally vulnerable Ei created. Even then, they were caught and ousted after just a year. Sure, Ei's system wasn't perfect and she is at fault for leaving an exploitable loophole, but for a first-time ruler who wasn't ready or fit for the position and was dealing with immense loss and war-related trauma, she had a pretty good first try. Additionally, no other nations that we've visited - who have Archons that are better rulers - had to deal with a 400-year long plot with multiple ongoing schemes (the delusion factory, riling up the Orobashi fanatics, political corruption). I would bet that even the other nations would have struggled if they had to deal with a plot into which so much time and resources had been invested.

I mean...guizhong had figured out AI with that bell of hers like 2000 years before. Ei is technologically smart but sadly trauma is not an excuse for being a despot and suppressing the fundamental right to movement of your citizens and taking control of their possessions. People call her goofy because she truly didn't realize what she was doing was wrong. If she did, and still went through then she'd be evil.

@@sarwatarannya8786 The bell is very vague at best being honest, and is nowhere near as complex as Scara or the Shogun, or at least it hasn't shown to be like that. And Ei's idea was to protect her citizens, she valued their life more than their ambitions, it's a perfectly reasonable idea that she took too far, it's almost like an overprotective mom stunting the growth of her children for the sake of their safety. It doesn't make her evil nor stupid, it's just something she used to value more, was it wrong? Thematically yeah but even that ideology has an argument to be made.

Hopefully, considering the Fatui Harbinger wheel, we get to fight her soon! Especially as the 3rd Harbinger, and one who is at a level of a god, it would prepare us for a fight against Capitano, who's (likely) the 1st ranked Harbinger and at the level of a god.

@@user-biscut i don't think we're ready for the Big 3 at all, especially since there's Pantalone and Sandrone left, not to mention Pulcinella, but since he's the mayor of Snezhnaya it's unlikely he'll ever leave the nation.

@BlakeGrifter Pants-man is only 9th. We aren't going to fight him unless it's a tag-team or mini fight, but that's super unlikely because he's all business, and we've never heard anything about his fighting. (I could only ever see him as a round-one opening act before we fight Dottore. Sandrone is ranked 5th, we could end up fighting her, but they will likely not be a weekly boss and instead be a regular open world boss (like we step into their workshop and have to fight a horde of their mechanical creations before we can reach them.) Pulcinella is unlikely to fight us, given his code name, "the mayor" suggests that he'll play a political role instead of a direct confrontational role. He is also only ranked 7th.

@BlakeGrifter I also don't think that we are ready to fight the top 3. But that doesn't mean that the Traveler has to win in the story they just have to survive. Like fighting Ei the 1st time, it was scripted that the Traveler loses (even if you win the battle where Thoma is the 100th vision, the cut scene of them losing still plays). The Traveler just has to either last long enough for an interpretation/get help/survive the fight. Nahida helped the Traveler with Scaramouche, Yae Miko, and the ambitions/wishes of the people helped us fight Ei and Ei fought the Raiden Shogun.

Have you not seen A Winter Night's Lazzo? Most people immediately flocked to characters they knew nothing about before they got more information. I was no different. I deemed him my favorite from that trailer alone, and since then, my adoration for him has only solidified. But based on my own theorycrafting, I believe him to be either the chivalric White Knight turned The Blood-Stained Knight of Mondstadt, or he's Imunlaukr from Val Vindagnyr, so his potential lore fascinates me. He also had a run-in with Grandmaster Varka, who is also affiliated with Mondstadt. And following that trailer, he's highly respected by the other members of the Harbingers, likely being Rank #1 of the organization, and he's regarded as one of the strongest people in all of Teyvat. @@MurderofBirdsImpact Oh yes I have seen it! I think all of the harbingers designs are so cool and honestly I can’t wait until we see all of them in game. Idk why, but for me the harbingers have been hit or miss character/personality wise (arlecchino is the first harbinger I actually have an affinity towards), and I always have to have a lot more information about them before I start liking them. I want to clear up any confusion that might come from your comment that "you've only read lore of Neuvillette, Furina and Arlecchino",: Those are the only characters since Version 3.3 that I've read ON-STREAM. I still read character lore post-Version 3.3, but if you mean, will those readings ever be streamed and later uploaded to KZfaq? No. Any lore reading prior to Version 3.3 that I've done on-stream that doesn't relate to the archons, the abyss, the harbingers, Celestia, Khaenri'ah, or the primordial age will remain on Twitch and will become public for all to view relatively soon. Following Version 3.3, I'm only focusing my time on-stream on character lore centered around those topics due to having too much content to cover and only so much time to cover everything on-stream and then repurpose for KZfaq content.

This was a rendering issue that plagued a few videos in the past. We've been aware since but there's nothing that can be done. Eventually, the problem was detected and fixed, so you'll eventually never see it again lol.

The puppet was crying in his sleep meaning he was very emotional and fragile meaning he was very similar to Makoto, and I'm pretty sure Ei believed these emotions were the reason why Makoto had died. So Ei wanted the puppet to be the exact opposite.

Only tangentially related, but your description of Scaramouche can also be applied to the people in the Genshin community who don't read and then whine about X character's actions not making sense or complain about "pLoT hOLeS" that would easily be resolved if they had paid attention to the story. Not saying that Genshin's writing is always perfect, but it's clear that the writers do try to emphasize the important plot elements (often through Paimon repeating things, which, to be fair, can get really annoying sometimes).

Why would he be referring to the previous Knave, who has been dead for years at this point? This is very much in line with Arlecchino. She's diplomatic and assertive, has crazy, scary powers, and makes people go "poof" that causes her, her children, or her House operations trouble.
