I think the morals are in good standards. The dad was too busy being hard with the no this, not that syndrome instead of paying real truth and real time other than the breakfast table. Even though I'm not done watching but this movie has a lot of moral lessons to us as teanagers and to our parents. Parents need to understand that there is a point in a child's life that being too strict on him or her will rather chase the child to be wayward secretly. Supposing the father had accepted she is of age and should have been given freedom with love and guidance instead of being hostile, she wouldn't have felt inferior and and go extra miles to meet the standard of other girls.

I agree with you in theory & if we as parents & you as a child could meet halfway it would be great but let me say this Ms. patience it's so hard letting go & wanting our children to live well, do right & follow certain principles above all it's just to protect you from bad things we know about that you have yet to experience. I do realize however you will make mistakes in order to grow & experience is the best teacher. B/B lady bug 🐞🐞& 🍠pea. HAGN.😃

A child should be taught how to live because no matter how old he or she is. There's a parent who have already passed through same situations she might be facing at that time. And if a kid does the opposite of what his or her parents are advising her that means she's just spoiled naturally; it's her nature to be that bad boy or girl because even if parents makes it easier for her she'll become worse than that

@@TreycieL I understand you, we kids of nowadays a little freedom then we think we own the world, but that not withstanding if the child actually knows what she wants in life as in if she want to be productive in life, I'm sure she will listen to the parents. I'm not saying parents shouldn't have a say in grooming their kids, but some parents do instill some kind of fear in their kids that even to approach them when they have issues regarding the opposite sex, they find it difficult and they end up listening to peers about it which may end up bad. So I'm just saying, some parents should be more accommodating towards their kids so that they won't chase them away while trying to protect them.

Kids, parents, adolescents are all invited to watch this beautifully made pièce of great art. If Lisa had a mother figure maybe, just maybe she would have been able to "déceler" the problem b4 it escalated. If Sammy had been followed up by the system immediately out of hook, maybe, just maybe he would have been able to pick up his life, learn from his mistakes and move on. If Jacob was man enough to admit his feelings to Lisa maybe, just maybe there wouldn't have been à "crack" on the wall. Above all, if everybody had listened to everybody maybe, just maybe...... This movie is TOP NOTCH. Great Lisa, Great Maurice Sam and others. Great Job I really picked the lessons therein.❤😉👍

Being overly protective of your children will drive them faster in the direction that you wouldn't want them to go. Teenagers always love to experiment. Give them a little space to explore but be their guide. Being overly protective will make them too naive that they can be easily led astray.

Just watched this movie again actually, this is Oscar winning performance on every level. The drug abuse storyline is intense. What a message👍. I needed tissues for that. On a bright side, I laughed my head off when Jacob told Lizzie to look at Sam's hair 😂. Because Jacob's hair is more out there yet he is the perfect hearted one. Wow.

I patiently watched the movie to the very end. At a point I felt it was just one of those usual movies, but it beats my imagination when the plot eventually had a twist. I'm so impressed with this movie. So many moral lessons to learn. This movie is suitable for both adults and young teenagers.
