I'm Dutch and Sacred Stones was my very first Fire Emblem game. It Wws actually like: Well, let's buy it and give it a try. Nowadays always looking out for new content, romhacks, image quality upscale possibilities for the older games. Didn't think there were many other Dutch people with a love for Fire Emblem then me. Forde: the shit pokemon. His bases are unimpressive, his growths aren’t even that great, and is outclassed by all your other cavs. Using him is the complete worst thing you could do to yourself. Amelia: The pitfall Pokemon. Many who have fallen into the pitfall of making her a knight have not seen the wisdom of “Amelia is bad in general”. Of course, the biggest pitfall is using her at all.

You know, the thing that irks me the most about Forde even more than his mediocrity? The fact that the devs were too lazy to give his battle sprite a ponytail! That has literally always bothered me about him.

That congratulations bit killed me. Hope Yeetus does more editing in the future.

I’m nostalgic for this ironman because it was when the lockdown year began.. Specifically that nonsense with the overpowered bosses in the desert that had to be beaten by endless phantom spam was during that weekend it became crystal clear things had changed and it really cheered me up then.

To be fair, I don't tend to promote my units before they hit 20, but I also just do regular runs, rather than Iron Man runs. So if a unit dies because they weren't promoted I just reset.

Emphraim dodging on the boat made me think of one time when I made one of the worst moves ever by moving Ephraim into range of like 10 units on the map where you fight Valter in the dessert. He got attacked by a ridiculous number of cavalry/paladins and wyvern. He should have died like 5 times but somehow survived. I don't know why I moved him there and thought it was okay but um, I guess everything worked out. I can't remember if that was the playthrough where he somehow had like 18 defense or not.

I recently tried my first iron man of this game, I hadn't played it in a while so I didn't know how it was going to go, but I got about halfway through without a single loss and then lost seth, vanessa and tana on the same turn and just gave up

What happened to your Forde is exactly what happens when I try to use Lugh in Hard Mode in FE6. I get the guy to like level 13 and he doesn’t gain a single point in magic. This happens every time.

I've played Sacred Stones like 12 times at least, and TIL you can recruit Amelia with Franz... I mean, I also only recently learned you can recruit Cormag with Tana in Ephraim route, too. I always thought you had to do the Ephraim > Duessel > Cormag talk convo chain, which made the chapter at least somewhat interesting...

These edits are LEGENDARY

Forde is another example of bases over growths. Forde's growths are actually almost the same as Franz with 5% less in spd but beating him in a couple of stat growths. Problem is Forde has the bases of a level 3 unit at 6 while Franz has good bases for his low level meaning that Franz is not in a situation where he needs immediate speed or strengths procs to maintain usefulness. If Forde had a point or two more of speed he would be a pretty good or even great character instead of okay.

You should do a Iron Man of the Rom Hack FE Sacred Trilogy... it’s basically an enhanced version of Sacred Stones but with skills added, more promotions, and it def feels like hard mode got some decent difficulty.

You don't realize yet that Forde is actually a monster as a great knight. Because of his high skill he actually is a surprising master of the weapon triangle and killer edges. You do have to trade movement though. It's worth it

Trying to decide what hurts more, Mekkah loosing moulder the boulder, or Guts losing Casca.
