Nothing beats exploring a new city with a local. In this film Amela of Funky Tours shows me her favourite spots in Sarajevo's old town of Bascarsija. We sip Turkish tea in an old caravanserai, then strong Bosnian coffee in Caffe Andar (Thank you Maida!), ice cream at the spot where Vienna meets Istanbul, and eat tasty burek at one of the most traditional restaurants. The coppersmith's quarter is unchanged in centuries and Adnan provides a short demonstration of his art. You'll soon discover why Sarajevo is a great destination to relax in whilst also enjoying the many museums and the cultural and historical tours on offer. Of course, Sarajevo is famous for its siege during the Bosnian conflict of the 1990s. I cover the siege in a separate film. In this film I wanted to focus on the Sarajevo experience of 2024.
