Lagavulin 16 is on my list also. It changed my life. Late in 2020 I got into whisky, mainly bourbon. I wasn't feeling it that much. For Xmas my wife got me 3 random bottles one of which was Lagavulin 16. I still remember the first sip and what I enjoy most (on this still young whisky journey) is that each sip still takes me back to that first one. Great list. I haven't tasted them all but it'll be fun trying. Thanks for your work and have a great 2022.

Nice video. Some good value Scotch I had this year: Ledaig 10, Laphroaig 10 Sherry, Glenmorangie 14 Quinta, Longrow Peated, Bunnahabhain 12, Bruchladdie Islay Barley 2011, Arran 10, Glen Scotia 15, and Kilkerran 12.

Bill, great format and concise comments. Just trying Springbank this past year. Haven't seen the 13 year but loved the 10 then the 15 and finally bought the 12CS. My two favorites were probably Glen Scotia Victoriana and Glencadam 10 year. CHEERS!!

Excellent selection! I always have the Bunnahabhain 12, the Talisker 10 and the Lagavulin 16 in my stock. The Lagavulin 16 is my whisky of choice when I'm celebrating something. The Springbank though, is really hard to find here in Brazil but I would love to try it. I still haven't tried the Port Charlotte but being a fan of Islay malts and after your recommendation I will definitely add it to my bucket list! This was actually my first year in whisky, favorite ones: 1. Lagavulin 16 2. Kilchoman Sanaig (I highly recommend this one! The neck pour is not amazing but let it settle in the bottle and becomes delicious) 3. Talisker 10 4. Oban 14 5. Glen Scotia 15 6. Glenkinchie 12

Glad to see Talisker 10 made it above the middle. One of my favorite Scotches, love the briny seaweed with the heather and peat. The ones higher on the list, well, I'll have to give them a try. Been a long time since I had a Lagavulin. Be worth a go, again.

Glad you rated PC10 so high! Got it in the summer and love it as well. I would say Glenallachie 12 and Ledaig 10 were amazing bottles I was able to get for a solid price.

Talisker 10 is one of the best 'Island' Scotches out there. Stock it is exactly how I see it. Port Charlotte 10 is a standard. Ledaig 10 is also amazing and should be on your list. The biggest surprise for me was Old Pulteney 12 and Navigator.

Great video, and great choices! I agree on so much of what you said, at least of the stuff I’ve also had! I had a Kilkerran Cask Strength that I loved, the Lagavulin 12 Cask Strength was also great, but when I got my hands on a bottle of Octomore 12.1, I knew that I had found true love! Such a fantastic scotch!

Scarabus surprised me as well. For 30 bucks, there's a nice level of complexity that make it not just good Scotch for the price, but a great one.

My number one Scotch was Springbank 12 Cask Strength, absolutely amazing and I can find a bottle anywhere. After that Lagavulin Distillers Edition & Ardbeg Uigedail. Thanks for a great year in Whiskey Bill!

Finally got my hands on Dalwhinnie 15 this year, definitely my fav. I might add how much I loved Highland park Magnus.

Old Malt Cask, Glen Keith 28yr cask strength refill bourbon hogshead was the best bottle I opened in 2021. As much as 2021 sucked at least there is great Whisky to have. Cheers and Happy New Year Everyone

Laphoaig Lore! Good stuff. As is Tamdu 15. Both are quite opposites but scratch that luxury itch without breaking the Bank.

My favs this year 1. Lagavulin 11, 2.Port Charlotte Islay Barley, 3. Bunnahabhain 12, 4. Laphroig Quarter Cask. 5. Octomore 10.3

Agree wholeheartedly about that Port Charlotte 10; I get funky blue cheese and used pizza box notes in the best way possible. Other favorites from this year were Craigellachie 13, Clynelish 14, and a G&M Glen Scotia 23. I was initially disappointed with Bunnahabhain 12, but the second bottle of it that I tried was so much better.

For me Port Askaig 10 years was really my whisky of the year. After that also bought the 100 proof, that was also great. For sure be getting more from that company. As for the whiskies you've shown this video, I agree the Port Charlotte is the best

Great list of whiskys as always! My top 5 list of the year is: 1. Brora 25yr Cast Strength - My whiskey buddy opened this bottle he had in his safe for 8yrs since it went below the neck and my god this is the best whiskey of my life so far. And it's only getting better the more we drink it. 2. Springbank 15yr (old version) - Again my whiskey buddy opened this bottle with me and it blew me away. 3. The Balvenie 15yr Single Barrel Sherry - This is my favourite sherry bomb of the year 4. Springbank 10yr - I tried Springbank for the first time at the beginning of the year with my whiskey buddy and I instantly fell in love 5. Glenmorangie Signet - Bought this bottle to open with my whiskey buddy and for a NAS he was hesitant, but it blew us both away.

Port Charlotte. Hell yes. I had this new years eve. What a beautiful drink

For me, the favorite is Laphroaig Cairdeas 2021. Cask strength, PX finish, with a nice balance of peat, sherry, and rich, jammy fruits on the palate. The flavors carry all the way through the finish, which goes on for days. This was the last release for master distiller John Campbell before he retired from Laphroaig, and he really knocked it outta the park. I opened my bottle of Cairdeas hot on the heals of finishing a bottle of Laphroaig Quarter Cask, which already amazed me with its intense, very savory smoke. Everything John Campbell put out has been really good, and I have made it my goal to collect and drink as many Laphroaig whiskys as I can that came out under his tenure. Laphroaig has become one of my, if not my all time, favorite Scotch distilleries

Jura 18 and Bowmore 15 are my top of the year. Lagavulin distillers is amazing also

My whisky of the year ended up not being my favourite one, but one that was such a surprise that it still stands out against the rest. I almost didn’t do a whisky of the year vid at all; I felt it might be pretensh for a channel that is now only a year old. I’m glad I did the video, though. Have me a chance to revisit a few malts that I hadn’t had a chance to look back at, considering all the new stuff that I opened in 2021.

Surprised to see the Machir Bay so low. I love it but it’s not for everybody. Port Charlotte and Lagavulin 16 are excellent. Always need to have those stocked!

Glen Scotia Victoriana excellent

I just killed a bottle of PC 10 and its was delicious. Replacement bottle is on its way.

Man I wish I could pickup a bottle of Scarabus for $30! It’s $85 here in BC CDN$!!! My favourite whiskey 🥃 of the year would have to be Talisker 10. Just an excellent dram and that cost me $100!

I had two favorite Scotches this year. The Ardbeg An Oa is simply fantastic and has such a wonderful flavor. My other favorite came as a surprise as I didn't really know what to expect when I tried it. Deanston 12 was my other favorite. It's such a pleasant whiskey. The honorable mention goes to Bunnahabhain Stiuireadair.

My most disappointing scotch of the year was Laphroaig 10, it took me six months to finish the bottle and I never really enjoyed it. Ardbeg Uigadail and Glen Scotia 15 were the best scotches I tried this year.

Might be too late now, but for Kilchoman give the Sanaig and 100% Islay a shot. Had both at a bar and liked them, enough to order Sanaig out of state. The Islay is just hard to find here.

You are absolutely on point - I have a couple of cigars at the in-laws every Saturday and I pair them with Bourbon and Scotch and Port Charlotte 10 was my big find and my #1. My second is a three way tie of Lagavulin 16, Laphroaig 10 or Ardbeg Uigeadail! Great video!

Great list. We finished a bottle of Port Charlotte next to a camp fire by a lake in 40 degrees weather. It tasted amazing. Hopefully I will be able to pick up Lagavulin various expressions next. Cheers! Happy New Year.

2021 surprises, Arran cask stength, Bowmore 12, and the best cheap blend - Copper Dog @$29/ bottle

I think that Kilchoman Machir Bay is an excellent whisky for just 50 euros (at least in spain). If you like peated I recommend you the Bunnahabain Moine and Lahproaig Lore, they're always in my stock haha

Aberlour 12. Tasty and an easy transition from bourbon. Less than $50 was nice too.

I generally don't like peated whisky but Talisker 10 is special!

I'm loving the higher production quality. I also think Talisker might have been the first peated whiskey I ever tried, come to think of it. I'll also never forget the time I finally was able to try Lagavulin 16. Being from Ontario, Canada, good scotch is scarce/ridiculously expensive. I took a trip to Europe about 4 years ago, and Scotland was one of the countries I visited. I wound up finding it in the gift shop on a ferry, of all places, after not having any luck in all the other places I tried to find it.

Great selection! My favourite whisky of 2021 was Kilkerran cask strengh & 16y. Great stuff from Campbeltown. Best from Islay was Ardberg An Oa which is more playful expression compared to Ardbeg 10y. Cheers😀

Great video! I, like you, discovered the Port Charlotte for the first time this year and was blown away. i never expected it to sit well alongside favs like Lagavulin, Ardbeg, and Laphroaig. But it does!

Seems like we have similar tastes. I like peat with brine... Like Talisker. My Favorite of the year was Ledaig 10 from Tobermory Distillers along with Smokehead.

Thoroughly enjoyable video. Lagavulin 16 features among my top three whiskies for 2021 alongside Aultmore 12 and Tobermory 12.

Port charlotte 10 yr is really good one, no arguments.

Good affordable choices the PC 10 is my number 1 too. Benriach Smoky 10 or 12 and the popular Ardy 10 pretty good. Laphroaig Cask strength or quarter cask also good Drams.

My own favorite of 2021 was Glenmorangie The Quinta Ruban 14. Delicious stuff and makes me want to try more port cask finished whisky.

Spot on on the Caol Ila 12. The Caol Ila 15 is AWESOME along with the laiphroaig 10 cask strength!!

Totally agree on Jura😬 My favourite Kilchoman is the Madeira cask 2015 and 2021😋

I agree on the Tale of Winter, have to go with the Lagavulin 12, but for me in 2021 the Glen Scotia Victoriana and 15 stole the show.

Loved the Port Charlotte 10, I've also really liked the Rassay, Laphroaig 10 Sherry oak finish, Ardbeg 8 for discussion, Bunnahabhain 12 and Arran 10 this year.

I see the Scaraberus in my local TW so I may have to pick it up now. Bunnahabhain and Caol Ila 12 year can no longer be found in my area. Oh well.

I’ve bought many bottles of Jura Superstition, one of my faves in the price range, but tried Jura 10 😞…never again. My faves for the the year are Glenlivet 18 and Tomatin 18. Price prohibitive to be regular drams, treats only. 😁

My scotch from 2021 was Oban 14. Loved it.

I had the same experience with springbank 15. I was not at all thrilled when I first bought it, and it was $130! But after it sat for while and I kept going back every few weeks it has turned into something amazing! It’s still not for the newbie though

Talisker 10 was my favorite whiskey of the year as well as my first introduction to peat whiskeys. I also bought Ardbeg but it requires a bit of getting used to 😄

I have not tried a bunch of these. Lagavulin 16 is my standard but Laphroig is starting to win me over with the 10. I have been to the Tallisker Distillery on Skye and it was pretty amazing. I need to grab a bottle of that port charlotte and try the Lagavulin 11. Cheers!

I've spent over 10 years and alot of money finding good single malt. Love Kilchoman bourbon mature malts. They haven't figured out a good way to introduce sherry to their whiskey. Ardbeg Uigeadail figured out peat/sherry combo. Prove me wrong.

Wow, seems our preferences are in alignment. I would say, however, I generally go through more Ardbeg (Uigeadail / Corryvreckan) as a nice change of pace.

interested to try some of them , just started getting into Scotch Whisky, my first try was Buchanan's mixed with Squirt but i then went to the Glenfiddich 12 and have so far only drank it neat which is delicious!

My #1 this year is HAZELBURN 10, had it in a whisky calendar and fell in love with it...sucks, that you can't get your hands on any of the Springbank bottlings though...except Longrow but I don't like peated scotch whiskies xD

I just started getting into Scotch and English whisky. I enjoy the Cotswold Single Malt and the Belvenie Double Wood.

It still definitely bums me out that you didn't enjoy the Kilchoman more as they're my favorite Islay distillery but it's of course always subjective when it comes to what whisky you enjoy. I'm glad you're going to still give them another chance, you could even just get the next one up price-wise which is the Sanaig and I think you'll start to think differently of them. It's basically the reverse of the Machir Bay so closer to 80% Sherry and 20% Bourbon. The Sherry mingles so well with the smoke, it's one of the only bottles I consistently re-stock. Cheers!

Scarabus is not a new distillery, it's a bottler; the whisky itself is from un undisclosed Islay distillery. There's a 10 year old and a batch strength as well

I really liked the Glenmorangie 14 Quinta Ruban this year. My next bottle to get will be Port Charlotte 10!

Also prefer darker beers. Give me all the porters and stouts before an IPA. Port Charlotte 10 made me into an Islay lover. It is absolutely my favorite as well

glengoyne 18, Glenmorangie signet, macallan rare cask and edition no 3, Port charlotte, All stand outs for me this year. I agree with ardbeg 10 wonderful bottle I just finished my bottle last year why its no on the list.

Just starting out here but I really enjoyed the Benriach 10, the craigellachie 13, laphroaig 10. The glenlivet 12 looks an amazing everyday scotch to me as its cheaper and delicious. Also tried the laddy from bruichladdich and its great for a non age statement wiskey. I just opened a bottle of Glenmorangie 14 Quinta and so far i have to say its really nice!! I have to say though that here where I am in the south its challenging to find the scotches you wanted to try. You get killed with bourbons as they don't need to be imported.

Laphroaig 10 sherry cask and Glenallachie 10 CS batch 3. I hear that batches 4 and 5 are even better but haven’t been able to find them in my area.

I already stock up bunnahabhain 12 years.

I tend to only enjoy heavily sherried scotch... peated or non. Havent had any on your list, but i think my favorite was highland park cask strength. Also found a bottle of discontinued famous grouse 18 that blew me away. Granted im a bourbon guy dabbling in scotch.

Bunnahabhain 12 is my favorite scotch. Period.

PC10 is my favorite peated

And i forgot. If you want Lagavulin in it's natural form. Buy Port Askaig. Prove me wrong if you can.

Scarabus is *NOT* Ardnahoe. It's a Hunter Laing independent blend that is sold through their storefront on the Ardnahoe website. No Ardnahoe product has been released so far.

So on the Kilchoman front I have been eyeing the Sanaig. Would be interested in your opinion
