Wow Ben you did a lot of organizing. Your system looks amazing now. You are smart to be saving some of the more valuable metal components since metals in general are down right now. But I would think most of the stuff you are keeping right now will go up a lot in value when metal prices go up. It is like having a retirement plan in your garage.

Just moved to new location and appreciated being able to re-watch this vid to help me think through my new layout. Not as much room as you have, but more than I had before. Thanks again.

Having the most common bins within reach of the scrapping table sure speeds things up, i'm re-organizing at the moment too. Being able to start fresh in a new location gives you a nice blank canvass.

That's an impressive stock in your workshop, and here I am just glad I've managed to scrap some simple stuff out of about seven CRTs. Mostly just Copper.

Ben Ben Ben. I ha e watched so may videos but this one I had to comment. The copper alum heat syncs are super easy to clean up. All it takes is a good chisel, a stiff paint scraper blade and a hammer. Well well worth the time considering the weight of the copper on them. Just my .02. Love your channel cheers!!

Good tour Ben, I sort and organize things out quite a bit as well so it's always good to see how other scrappers lay out their shops. Thanks for sharing bud, Take care and Happy Scrapping, Chris

When I first seen this video a little more than a year ago, when I was just getting started with ewaste scrapping. I thought this must be the ideal workshop! Now after a year with a little experience. I know this is IDEAL/PERFECT condition to work in. When you have your workshop, how do you say "cocker block full"! For me & it sounds like you also, would want to get all the bulky items scrapped and out of the way to have the condition as close to this as possible. It's got to be a good feeling when you get one of the workbench bins full of mlcc's, then take a step or 2 to the filing cabinet to put them in a huge bin of mlcc's!!!! I have the cabinets and space. I have about 1% of the inventory you do (because I've seen the other bins that aren't in or around the shop), I hope one day I'll have shop like that. This Video has got to be in my top 10 favorite videos. Because organization is KEY!!!!

Very good setup Ben, Good Job. I didn't see a bin for steel/tin or plastics. That's like 80% of my material after a scraping day for me.
@eWasteBen7 жыл бұрын
there were a couple tubs for steel at the start, I fill up scrapped out pc's with it and stack it out front to load up, I do a tonne per week, plastic gets stacked out there too,.

Excellent set up Ben!, very nice. I like how you've got a lot of 240 litre bins on the go, ever thought about using 360 litre bins?. Their around 120 litres bigger than a normal 240. I got one a few months back, very useful bin haha. I'm hoping to get my own proper scrapping area lined up in the next few years, when I get my own place. Very nice work!
@eWasteBen7 жыл бұрын
360's are nice but too heavy to lift into my van when full
@tharealsteven7 жыл бұрын
That's the only downside to them, I'm thinking about building a small ramp of sorts, so I can wheel my 360 into the back of the ute haha

OK, WOW!!!!, Ben thank you so much for the tour cause you gave me so many ideas. At 14 minutes, the blue wire you showed looked like cat 5. I get high Dollar for that, I think $1.65US. Also, have you ever sent straight to a refinery and cut out the middle man? I would love to talk with anyone who has as I am wanting to go that route. Anyways, thank you again my friend, be safe. ...........Mike

we don't have refiners here that toll refine, but I hear one day soon someone is looking to do it on large levels

the guy you sell your boards to is taking them somewhere. unless he is shipping them to possibly India. Many refineries there I have heard. I think you will do fine. scared me when i first started but with the forums help, I have come a long way, lol

Yeah boards are shipped overseas, no refiners here for boards, even sims e-waste ship overseas and they are a billion dollar company, what forum are you talking about?

How do you know what to keep to either reprocess or sell? do you process the stuff and see the materials or do you sell them as the computer parts themselves? I'm just confused how you sort out what to keep and what not to keep.

Nice man! That's pretty much my garage only a lot more expanded. Question: Where do you get your roll-away bins? I have some 5 gallon buckets I put most of my smaller stuff in and boxes for my boards, but I've wanted to get some bins like that for a while now. Do you just ask the trash company or something? Thanks, and love the video!
@eWasteBen7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I get them from recycling centers, usually they are broken like missing wheels or missing lids, they let me make up complete bins from them.

Good show ol chap. Are you going to have a separate area where you will have a laboratory set up to chemically take the gold out of things. I have one because i like chemistry and I like to see the end result of my labors. .999 fine :)
@eWasteBen7 жыл бұрын
will be doing refining when I move to a new place with more space, still a few years away though
@bantalee20027 жыл бұрын
eWaste Ben Sure looks like you process heaps of scrap every week,plenty on your plate to keep you busy,having long days. When you do move either make sure you are a good distance away or that your new neighbors are not complainers. The exhaust from the chemical refining processes can be overwhelming if a person accidentally catches a lung full of it.

eWaste Ben even if it's just a hobby? like do i have to pay taxes like i would for a job?
@eWasteBen7 жыл бұрын
if your making hobby money then no, but if your earning an income then yes, you would have to declare what you earn, most places there's a threshold on how much you can earn before paying tax, if your just cashing in small qty's of scrap then that could be just hobby money, like selling something on ebay

Kerem akıllı I understand what you are saying. But it is set up the way he has it. If someone else came in and decided to move bins,tools,inventory or equipment around where it shouldn't be, it would create a disruption in flow. not to mention things being placed in wrong bins.
