Yes, often I say "light has an exlamation mark." During daytime alone, it is comforting to wear a black sleep mask down above the eyes to reduce ambient anything input.

Oh my gosh! I always felt dizzy walking into movie theaters but I never knew what the sensation was until now! And my body has so much trouble with regulating heat and cold, especially trying to sleep. Hunger, thirst and feeling full are difficult. And the random bruises! And dance steps and navigation are nearly impossible for me, too! Also practiced gymnastics...and odd postions in chairs to be comfortable. This is so relatable! 😂

I can totally relate to this video. I feel the same about these sensitives that you mentions. However I don’t like light touch, like tickling, but i LOVE weighted blankets and compression. Yet I don’t like tight clothing either. It’s so bad and i end up having meltdowns from just the sensory issues alone. I don’t like perfumes very much and any strong smells. I also hate the feeling of my nails. I’m always biting them cause any time my nails grow i hate the feeling. Sound is another huge issue for me and so loud noises are so bad and therefore I am always wearing headphones or earplugs or ear defenders. It’s so bad….

One sensory thing i cannot deal with is air pressure due to storms. I feel if thru myself. The intensity of thunder and lighting as sound as well as the beep rumbling that vibration thru my body. I too don't like to have main house lights on only dim subtle light as is make me feel saft and safe. Your videos are helping me understand what and who i am, thank you.

I relate to so much of this!! Also - prepare yourself for perimenopause!!! If you found puberty & periods a struggle, this is SO much worse. I literally want to die most of the time - brain fog, insomnia, mood swings, meltdowns over nothing, crying for no reason, inability to mask effectively - it's just horrible. And I'm still stuck in limbo waiting for a diagnosis of autism (it's been nearly 27 months now). There is very little support for allistics at perimenopause - autistics are just abandoned to sort everything out for themselves. (if you can't tell - I'm having a particularly bad day today!)

I am so glad that I had never heard of peri menopause when I went through it. When I looked back, I discovered that was what had been going on, but at the time I just thought I was having a lot of emotions due to the long-distance relationship I was in. I struggled for about 2 years getting used to ‘the different me’ that I became after my actual menopause, but after that I have found I am much more relaxed and settled in my personality and relationship to myself.

@@tracik1277 I cannot wait for it to be over, although I know some unfortunate people have shitty symptoms the rest of their lives!! I'm hoping I won't be so unfortunate...

@@paunesjourney I definitely have the strong lighting preferences, sound sensitivity, and I was also very ticklish as a kid and still now. I feel repulsed sometimes by touch, maybe more as a kid. Basically I only want to b touched by my partner, it feels very intimate, I like it for in private
