Hi Gary, This broadcast is such a treasure. The visual incarnations of Holmes have impacted readers for a hundred and thirty five years. You have presented the part of that world that has faded into obscurity, resurrecting it and bringing it into beautiful and permanent focus. Cultural historians and fans of Holmes will be watching this video forever. Beautiful Job. Breathtaking images. As always your commentary is immensely knowledgeable, engaging and lots of fun. Cultural history doesn't get better than this. This is one for the ages. Thomas

The absolutely wonderful Gary Lovisi! I have that exact t-shirt as well as many of the books on your shelves (not so many of the older versions). Gary also published the excellent magazine "Hardboiled" which contains one of my short stories in an edition; "Karma." A really great guy!

Wonderfully lavish, beautifully exhibited portion of what must overall be a VAST collection of books and memorabilia. The way it’s organized and cared for-what a bibliophile’s dream! And that part of the Holmes collection contains items you yourself penned just adds icing on the cake for pride of ownership. Please do show us more of your great collection in this fashion if the mood strikes you, Gary-because it’s such a feast for the eyes…! By the way, “Dr. Watson’s Opfegnelser” directly translates to “Dr. Watson’s Records” but is perhaps better rendered as “From the Files of Dr. Watson” or something of that nature.

@@garylovisi357 You’re welcome…and isn’t German a funny language? So comically strident. My favorite German word and one that I would love to see in a book title is “Backpfeifengesicht” (Bahk-Fi-Fen-Geh-Zicht) A single word that translates to “A face badly in need of a punch”…crazy! Be good for a hard boiled story, ha!

Fantastic collection! I would love to see other parts of your collection, which I have always been curious about. I just finished reading The Second War of the Worlds by George H Smith (1976). This is number two of the Dylan McBride trilogy, preceded by Kar Kaballa and followed by The Island Snatchers. Holmes and Watson are characters in this book. I would not recommend reading it before reading Kar Kaballa as you will be at sea with regard to the characters. A fun read, though not sophisticated. Crazy fantasies, full of humor and action.

Beautiful collection Gary. Excellent. Makes me want to revisit Holmes and the good doctor . Been listening to the audible podcast " Moriarty " and it's been more entertaining that I thought it would. 👍❤️

That's a fine Holmes collection. Perhaps only rivalled by the one said to be maintained by John H. Watson, M.D. on Baker Street.

do any of your books in plastic bags ever get mildew or moisture damage? most of my paperbacks are in plastic bags and now I worry that they will get moisture damage.
@garylovisi357

Drew, no moisture or humidity damage for any of my books in bags. May depend on location and weather conditions. Very humid areas like Florida may be a problem without a room with AC, upper midwest is usually very little humidity. I would say it depends where you live, but overall I think bags are good to use on all books.
