Su smashed Bollywood metal with Shanti shanti shanti, had Sabaton dancing to her euro polka beat with Oh Majinai, and now she's got Arabian/Egyptian metal with Metalizm... this is my fave so far from the new album, next to Believing and Time Wave.... This is like a darker sister of Shanti Shanti, love the way she does that yodeling thing with vocals, the choreo looks a lot like Shanti Shanti Shanti too.🤘🦊🤘

"This could only be really really cool in a full live setting". You nailed it! I saw them live last Friday in Berlin and I can tell this song kicks ass overall and those solos are so freaking amazing (sorry for the "technical" terminology, hahaha...) as expected and even more. Because yes, Barone is a spectacle on his own playing the drums. Now I need that Blu-ray as well... and to see them live again, but headlining this time. They are going to stream the PIA Arena MM Black Night (the first of the two concerts) on Wowow on June 26th, by the way. Until next time! 🤘🦊

You were right about the middle eastern influence and the Shanti Shanti Shanti vibes. I love the EDM/Trance vibe and the guitar solos are on another level. I had the pleasure seeing it performed live on Friday and was so mesmerised that I can barely remember it, but dang was it good. The next day they played Maya which is now in my top 3 along with Monochrome which I got to hear live twice (YAY!). 🤘🔥🦊

I think you might be spot-on with the analysis of the word Metalizm. l love the "...zumuzumuzumu" addition. I hope I don't get flamed for this, but I think that's one the now rarer opportunities where the kawaii element comes through.

Divine Attack looks like a crowd energizer too though. After seeing more fan cams with that song it looks to be pretty dang fun. I do hope to see Metalizm as well though when I seen them waaaaaaaay in October. 🤘🦊🤘

As you say, this is footage from the second day at the Yokohama Pia Arena. The back screen was large as you can see. However, it was difficult to see the screen due to the speakers suspended from the ceiling. There was a round stage in the middle that moved up and down, and that is basically where the performance took place. I think Kami band had drums and guitar on the right side of the round stage, bass and guitar on the left side (sorry if I'm wrong). Incidentally, I think the audience started dancing the Zum Zum choreography together on this second day😊 From Japan🦊

Nice reaction 😊 The reason why they say Metalizumu is because they are using the Japanese pronunciation, and in Japanese you cannot have two consonants following each other (with the exception of the ん n- sound), so when they pronounce foreign words with successive consonants, they’ll add a vowel to fit their own language pattern

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 Yes, Metalizm was premiered in the two-day shows on April 1/2 and I witnessed the both at the venue in Yokohama (Pia Arena)😍. This MV is from Day-2 when Momoko appeared as the 3rd official member, Momometal for the first time. Western (American) Kami Band did a great job in those shows. *************** In an interview [magazine PMC vol.27 page 42]: ◆ Su "This is the most chaotic song and classified as 'WTF" category in this album. I can't explain it properly, but I would like you to listen to it as soon as possible. And I believe this song will turn into something amazing in live performance" ◆ Moa "Song itself is, of course, good, but I assume it will give you different image when you see the choreo with live sound. So I look forward to seeing how it turn out at the venue. I wonder how the audience will react to and get excited with this song? You think so, Su?" ◆ Su "Yeah! There have never been a song of this type." = Interviewer "Flavor of Middle East, isn't it?" ◆ Su "That's right. This will be a new drawer of BABYMETAL" *************** Moa is correct. Choreo on stage by Su, Moa and Momometal was mixture of seriousness, playfulness, comicalness, therefore amazingness on top of Su's fantastic vocals and intricate guitar phrases and hefty drumming by West Kamis. The new drawer is a tribute to New BABYMETAL. Oh!, You noticed the repetitive phrase "Zumu Zumu". Yeah, it is interesting. For me, this phrase always reminds me of "Muzu Muzu". When you feel itchy or tickling or a kind of frustration, we express it using this phrase "Muzu Muzu".

Dude... You gotta, GOTTA, dust yourself off once in a while. Every video I watch of yours you have tons of dust, fuzz, and specks and all, all over your hat and shirt. I usually don't care, but DAMN, you got a lot of stuff all over you bro. I have cats, so I kinda understand, but a real quick dust-off or a lint roller on your hat before recording would probably be better so as not to distract from the actual reaction video. And it is very distracting tbh. Sorry.... But I just HAD to say something. I feel like Austin Powers trying not to notice the MOLE .

There's so much into this song, it's so amazing, and everything works as a clock, the shining choreography, the insane drumming, the rhythmic bass line, that sudden oriental shredding, and of course the hypnotic ZUMZUMZUM! And yes, live it's pretty brutal😎! 🤘🦊⚡️

We often talk about the foxhole, but what if I told you there is a rabbit hole in a parallel universe? It's not nearly as deep, but still interesting. The group is called DESURABBITS (2013-2021) from Japan, originally named DEATHRABBITS. They shared a few similarities with BABYMETAL but created their own thing. The members were Emi, Yuzu, Karin and Bucho. Emi is a great lead singer, Yuzu is a very charismatic performer and Karin is a bit shy. Quite like Su, Moa and Yui when you think about it. They also pioneered their own genre, called Death Pop, which is a different mix of Pop and Metal than Kawaii Metal. You will find rabbit-related things in their outfits, choreography and lyrics. All music videos are on their official KZfaq channel. I recommend starting with the song "Magic of Butterfly ‐seicho‐" from their third and final album.

Arabian psytrance metal! 🤘 You hear "metarizumuzumuzumu" repeated a lot in two sections of the song where in the official lyrics the lines are represented each time by a single "METALIZM." The katakana pronunciation of METALIZM is メタリズム/Metarizumu. Metarizumuzumuzumu = メタリズム/Metarizumu (metal rhythm) + ズムズム/zumuzumu (thrumming (e.g., with excitement)).

I wrote a nice comment yesterday with a suggestion for a group to react to. I gave a short summary of the group and spent quite a bit of time to make it interesting and concise. I don't know what happened but it is now gone. Once in a while a completely fine comment just vanishes, it might be after 10 minutes, or 10 hours. It's not just your channel either. It's weird, because I think it's always a comment where I suggest this group, but they don't always get deleted.

Interesting, the new comment was removed within minutes. I'm at a loss as to why. Making some tweaks and trying again. Edit: I think I've narrowed it down to an overzealous KZfaq filter. It doesn't like it when I write the age they were when the group was formed, yes, just the numbers. It doesn't like describing the age using the word "young" either. Well, the members of DESURABBITS were the same age as BABYMETAL when they formed the group. KZfaq is messed up.

I have no idea. When I see stuff like this written, I usually assume they get put into my "holding" bin for me to approve, usually because of something KZfaq thinks is malicious. Not this time, though, it truly just disappeared. I actually saw your comment pop up when I was at work and a little while later it was gone. KZfaq doing KZfaq things again I guess. At least it looks like it stayed this time!

Metalizm. That's why it doesn't sound metal. It would be called metal if it did. Metalizm is what Babymetal are. It's a version/ interpretation of a form of their metal. A branch off of "normal" metal if you like. I think this song encapsulates what Babymetal have been since they were first formed in SG. Gatekeepers can guard their gates, its closed and people have moved on. 😂 🦊🦊💥🦊🦊

The vibe is more middle eastern Turkish style. The repeating background chant could be interpreted almost as a call to prayer if you like. Same as a mosque.
