The bones are a very tricky instrument because playing them is essentially playing the air and when you strike the air, they clamp together on an upwards angle. The fast triplets are very hard to time precisely and consistently at that tempo. That one for me was the hardest! It’s really easy for the bones to slip around and that messes up the sound/timing to be precise! I used Slapaphone for bonkers because my boomwhackers don’t go low enough in pitch. Perhaps it would be fairly simple to make your own custom Boomwhackers to go into the very low bass range.

@@mimikkid05 😂 Clackula is the hardest one to play in this video. The motion to play the rhythm at this tempo is very tricky, the technique is like playing in the air but very tricky to time perfectly for that many triplets in a row!

This was so cool! What’s funny is I just recently got a kalimba but I didn’t realize you had to specify you wanted sharps, but I’ve been having fun playing around with it

Don’t be afraid to re-tune notes (hammer them) when you need different pitches. Sometimes on my diatonic kalimbas I will change some of the notes to sharps or flats to play different pieces

:) Some of the sounds are purely electronically generated and not sound samples so sometimes it’s tricky to play them on an actual instrument. I need to make some modified boomwhackers to get the low pitch for bonkers
