These smoked chuck roast sloppy joes were one of the best sloppy joe recipes we've ever made! We started with our basic homemade sloppy joe sauce that we use for ground beef, but nothing about these chuck roast sloppy joe sandwiches was basic!
To start, we smoked a chuck roast with our 'Que That barbecue seasoning and Texas Rub. Then, we braised the smoked chuck roast in a pan with the sloppy joe sauce ingredients. When the chuck roast hit 210 degrees F internal temp, we wrapped it in aluminum foil to rest while we put the pan of sloppy joe sauce back on the smoker to reduce.
Then, shred the smoked chuck roast and add it to the smoked sloppy joe sauce for what may be the best sloppy joe sandwich that you've ever eaten! Even my wife, who really doesn't like sloppy joes at all, devoured a whole sandwich. Enjoy!

I'm very impressed with the entire cook. Draining off the excess fats was brilliant. Pushing that roast to 210+ seems like the way to go... I'll be trying that as well. Thank you to you and your lovely wife for these videos.

We haven't ventured into smoking yet. Still researching. Work colleague keeps saying, DO IT! He smokes a lot. That chuck looked absolutely phenomenal! Sloppy Joes aren't a thing here in Australia. Well, they are, but not of the food variety. A sloppy Joe here is a fleecy jersey. I have watched quite a number of Sloppy Joe recipes. I absolutely LOVE the look of this one. I know traditionally they have bell peppers, but I really can't eat them, so I'd have to leave them out. I think even my food hating husband would like these. I love how moist and juicy they look.

Boss, Amy's reaction sold me. 😂 This is a banger! As far as toppings, have you ever used shredded or grated cabbage? We have used cabbage as a topping on Sloppy Joe's, whether they were made of burger or pork for decades. It adds a little crunch and flavor that finish the sandwich! Give it a try.

"Moisture" in slow-cooked beef is primarily rendered fat. Moisture added during the cook is mostly for the creation of a good bark that's not too dry. The moisture from braising liquid and/or spraying later is not absorbed into the interior of the meat.

I've never liked sloppy joes, mostly because of the texture of the ground beef filling. It's tends to be too loose and sloppy. Yeah, I know it's in the name, but this is a dislike I have going all the way back to some elementary school cafeteria sloppy joe trauma, or something. That being said, I love pulled pork and carnitas sandwiches. Similar in concept, but different in texture. I think this chuck roast sloppy joe recipe of yours fixes my main objection to traditional sloppy joes. That and it just looks like it's fantastic. I'm going to try this.

"TWO TRUE STORIES" First story, about 2 years ago one of the guys at work says "Hey ya'll I am making sloppy Joe's and there will be plenty, who ever wants to eat that" We all say cool and I am pretty much anticipating Mandwich in the can with some ground beef. So about 30 minutes or so later he let's us know it is ready. I was the first one to the kitchen. I grab 2 sesame seeded buns, hungry for some plain ole Sloppy Joes. I grab some potato chips and carry my plate to the stove. I lift that cover off that skillet and look down. I was like "You kidding me right. His version of a Sloppy Joe was browned ground beef with all the fat juices and salt & pepper. Till this day the guys rib him about his award winning Sloppy Joe recipe. Needless to say I ate something else that day. SECOND TRUE STORY: Well it is a lot better than the first. You know how when you pull up "You tube" they have these little rectangular pictures of stuff. Well this one catches my eye "Smoked Chuck Roast Sloppy Joes" I was like Man those look good, I wonder who made that. So I click on it and start laughing "I should have known" Great Job!

Yeah..not all recipes make it...I actually think in the video I mentioned this was not a recipe..more of just playing around...not really any recipe.. 1. whole chicken with Kinders garlic sauce as a binder...use a comparable seasoning.. Add chicken to rotisserie Add binder and season all sides For the cast iron I onion split into 6s or 8s 1 bag small potatoes 1/2 lemon but into four pieces... add all ingredients Cook chicken at 275 till about 140 degrees turn temp up to 325 till done Pull potatoes and onions when done...they will cook faster than the chicken I let the chicken rest in the same skillet...
