My SLS Black Series is a RENNtech BEAST!

Күн бұрынMy SLS AMG Black Series has been transformed by RENNtech and it's now an absolute beast! Straight from the installation of the full R1 Package, it's immediately onto the Nürburgring Nordschleife for some laps to feel the power, and experience the sound. There is no question, this car is epic!
After visiting RENNtech Europe a few days prior as the work was being started, this time it's back to the workshop at the Nürburgring to collect the car and hear it for the first time. The R1 package has been fitted which consists of the headers along with 200-cell high-flow sports cats, with a tune to take power from 631hp to 675hp, although there's still some checks to be done as to why mine reported a lower output before. But it's not just a performance increase, it's going to be getting a whole lot louder and more aggressive, allowing the 6.2l NA V8 to have a thunderous sound.
With a cold start in the workshop to kick it into action, there is no doubt that the new sound is brutal, but that becomes even more apparent upon a drive on the local roads. Taking it to the Green Hell for some laps is a whole different ball game, a noticeable pickup in power, but the sound, oh THE SOUND!

I wouldn't call first time driving an slsbs that you just got an expensive tuning kit installed for a little thing. I'm certain everyone would be smiling. However I too appreciate and respect his genuine positivity and passion that he shows in each and every one of his videos. I wish I could find more people like him..

Having around 900 hp RWD car would end up not being able to go full throttle since the rear wheels are holding back that much of power. You don’t need a high HP to be fast around the track. An example is the GT3 RS. You only need 520 hp to be able to go 7 minutes or less consistently. SLS BS is pretty much a track car. If you’re talking about the 720S, then sure why the hell not I would definitely put 900 horses on it.

Youre're not slow, you are actually a driver that has evolved a lot in the past few years improving your own pace and having a good time!Plus you use your cars for exacly what they were built for which is pretty rare!Keep it up and don't listen to all the "professional" drivers in the comments.Anyone with basic knowledge will agree that having your own pace and improving upon that is the best way to make sure you are safe.

Serious respect taking your SLS B around the ring straight after getting those mods. You’re getting to know the circuit really well as you pass most other cars. It’s a lot more about the driver as well as the car when on track. I took my new M3 Comp there back in 2012 after 4 months ownership. It rained, so I was even more careful. I did 4 laps in total over the course of a day and that was plenty. Went again the following year and met a racing driver who agreed to passenger with me and my lap improved no end. In total I’ve completed 8 laps there behind the wheel and I’ve heard it can take about 100 laps to get to know it.

I think you are going in the right direction with the channel doing modifications to your cars like this. It is something that everyone wants to see and hear. For the future I really hope you continue modding some of your cars. Even though the stock cars make great power already it is just something special hearing that brutal noise and see the power of those modifications. Also interesting to see your facial expressions not knowing if you are truly smiling or nearly shitting your pants because you realize how much power it now makes.

Tim!! I’ve been watching for some time. You learned how to really drive this year! When you’d stopped talking and started giving the SLS the beans at the end your driving was impressive. Real confidence showed up. I’ve driven the Ring two years in a row and I track in S. Florida. Now that you’re bringing some real hard driving impressions to the mix your brand is poised to explode. Keep it up and go visit Spa and other tracks with these cars. It’s what I want to see more of! You know you’ll love it!
