Where legal, thermal drones are absolutely an amazing tool for locating shot deer. If he hit where he was aiming, that deer is dead. The buck sure appeared to be hit with the mule kick and hunched up posture walking off. Check into drone deer recovery. Enjoyed the video. Always good to see Dads and kids enjoying the outdoors together.

After all of the target practice you never showed your kid the angels or where to shoot a deer? I was shown that at 4 years old.

I showed it to him we went over it multiple times every day for a week. I guess he got buck fever and when I told him to shoot it in the middle of the “meaning middle of the shoulder” he literally shot it in the middle. He has killed more stuff at 8 than most grown men but no deer. It’s a mistake I doubt he will ever forget.
