But upon arrival, her husband started mistreating her and would hardly acknowledge her and all he wanted was his kids. He would at times refer to her as an "ugly monkey from Kenya" and even at one point had her forcefully committed to a mental hospital claiming she was a mad woman with potential to hurt her own children. But even after after a judge granted her custody to the kids, her husband still insists he will come to Kenya, bribe local officials and take away the children.

Just came across this video. Interesting the part where the interviewer says "so he just wants your children, he doesn't want you" and Ruth agrees. He doesn't even want the children. He's an abusive man and abusive men thrive off of power and control. He knows Ruth's weak spot is her children, and he's using that as a way to maintain control and power over Ruth. She needs to find a way to cut that control and power and he'll lose interest. I'd love to see a follow up of Ruth and hope her and her children are happy and thriving.

My husband passed away very young, he killed himself so that after his death his parents would literally steal my three-year-old daughter through corruption and connections. That even my lawyer of Spanish descent admits and claims that in my case it is also nationalism among other reasons because I am not Spanish. Because I am from Serbia, although white skin color. Another Spanish lady lawyer from a high elite law office hearing my case was confused she could not understand me , she immediately requested to talk to my lawyer. After the conversation, she said: “I am ashamed to be Spanish for this to happen to you in Spain. This is corruption! They couldn't take your child away by law. In 25 years of work, I have never seen anything like this! ” The other two lawyers I approached before looked at me in shock and one even in doubt that he could not believe that something like this had happened at all ... One of them asked me: “So what did you do, you was taking drugs, alcohol? ” None of that I answered. I don't even smoke cigarettes, on the contrary I lead a completely healthy life. Yes, unfortunately, the world is full of injustice and racism where they rob us of our own children. I am still fighting for my child for 4 years. I am on my end now as I can not live further without my only child. I will fight untill my last breath for my child for her to have right to have at least her mother after she lost her father. I am fighting not just for my self and my baby, I am fighting for all the women and children . I will be going to media. I will expose all of them that this never happens to anyone. I need help people of good will who fight for justice, for a better world; lawyer journalists ... NGO for human-women rights.🙏🏻💛

Husband need to be black listed not only to enter Kenya but Africa. She needs also to apply for children benefits which they are entitled for monthly by EU law +Spanish passports for kid's in Spanish Embassy. Report him in their Embassy & by DCI. That's exactly what happened to my Swedish girlfriend a Gambian i met in London she had a child with Swedish man back in Gambia some years later she was invited to Sweden, children were taking away from her and they said she has a mental problem, and the kids were taking away from her. Exactly the same story, but I am really happy for Ruth that you stood your ground and won the case and you are now back to motherland with those beautiful kids they are Africans NOW. Kwa ground vitu in different!! And thats a fact Lynn. The white people we see in Africa are not the same white people in their country. These poeple are very smart actors.. Kind and lovely in Africa but when you arrive in their countries, you see their real face. I live in Germany for over 29 years now. I have seen kenyans been threatened with guns, knives or even locked out of their homes but when the law enforcement officers arrive, their white patners twist the story to make them look like victims. Majority of Kenyans who arrive here on inter-racial wedlocks end up divorcing and remarrying them same kenyans they fled from. But, let me be fair.. Not all whites are racist.. but majority of them.

Lisa Roberson Why are you victim blaming? Abusers don’t always start out blatantly abusing their partners it’s more complex than that. It takes the average women 7 times to leave an abusive relationship because the emotional and psychological control is so strong. Please develop a shred of human empathy for the new year 2020.

People fall in love with another because they are attracted to them, not because of poverty. Sure, some black women might get into relationships with men because of poverty so they need money, but they are an exception and this is true for every race. It's not a black women issue, it's just a very unfortunate situation that she and many other women have also found themselves in.
