End of summer stress is kicking in. Whenever a new season starts & schedules start changing i get so much anxiety. Need to figure out what we're doing with dance & school this year. And I'm starting therapy.

I see a tired mama who needs to find a balance in life! Life is busy, and it's okay to say 'no' to your kids. I think it wise to take a break from extracurricular activities for your kids for a season! Have them do school, get together with friends, and just make memories as a family! And find time for yourself, and for your marriage! Balance is necessary! And your relationship with your husband needs to take priority over your kids!

She shouldn’t have 5 kids under 7 and expect anything else. Not good for kids not getting enough attention or parents. Really people you have what you made of your life!

@@debicovert6105 That is rude. If you don't have anything encouraging to say, don't say anything. People need support, not discouragement.

In my opinion public school is the best for both of you and ur kids so when they are at school you have “alone time” maybe so you can focus on urself or clean the house and when they come back from school you can play with the kids with full energy! Love u

I was taken out of school and homeschooled when I was 13, and I wish I could go back and stay in public school. To this day I have an extremely hard time making friends and socializing because of it. It's embarrassing to admit, but I'm in my twenties and I don't have any friends. I don't blame my struggle entirely on homeschooling, but I think it contributes to it significantly. When I was homeschooled, I was isolated from other kids my age and had no extracurricular activities or other avenues to socialize. I'm naturally a shy person, but I think being homeschooled made my social anxiety much, much worse. If you decide to homeschool your kids, my advice would be to make sure that they are socializing with kids their age on a regular basis (and that a professional is teaching them). Being able to socialize and having friends is such an important aspect of life. School is not only a place where kids go to learn, but a place where they learn how to interact with other people.

This was my favorite vlog of all time. Sharing more realness is what I love to see. Makes me love your family even more.❤ As a retired public elementary school principal, I believe you may be too busy to homeschool your children on your own. However, hiring a highly qualified tutor to come to your house 3-4 hours a day for 4 days a week could be a wonderful solution. While they would lose the social aspect of public school, your children will continue to receive social benefits through their outside activities.

get the F off of social media, you tube, and prioritize your life and family and the anxiety will go away. Instead, your prioritizing you tube attention craving which will pile the stress on. The girls are adorable, let them grow up naturally!

In my opinion, I think they should take a break from dance and just focus soley on public school. That way they have more social interaction and it would give you break. More time with the boys, and/or house chores and filming. Then you wouldnt have to worry about finding a private tutor. Whatever you decide to do, I support you 💯%! You've got this Maddison!

I am mom of older highschool children, and looking back the biggest stress with younger children was trying to balance after school activities and school. It was a logistical nightmare and so hard when little ones are all different ages. Looking back I would have spent more quality time just being with them, making dinner together, talking about their day , going to the park and just snuggling on the couch. Those are the things I miss the most! Extra curricular activities are great but should not be such a huge focus especially. It puts so much stress and parents. Try to scale back a bit, maybe 1 or two days a week at most and find something the kids can do the same day of the week. Aside for that I think homeschooling is wonderful but for me public school worked best. I worked full-time and I found a piece of myself with my work. It gave me a sense of accomplishment and identity. Being a mom is such a hard job and you're doing great! Just remember it's the little times spent together your kids will remember so try to enjoy those moments because in a blink of a eye their all grown up 😢

I think you need to send them to school. I feel like that homeschooling them is going to increase your anxiety and stress. Also kids generally are better when parents are not around. Also, it’s is not fair to the boys. They seem to get the least amount of mom and dad time.

I also have five kids, aged 9-15 and I homeschool them and by far the biggest thing I love about it is I get all that extra time with them. They grow up sooooo fast and will be gone before I know it and I’m so thankful I’ve had all these extra years with them here. ❤️❤️❤️

We do Classical Conversations, so the kids meet once a week with their friends and then stay home the rest of the week. It’s a good compromise. It’s a Christian homeschool and gives them an *excellent* education.

I think it’s cool when you show what actually goes on in y’all’s life like it’s not always perfect all the time and that’s everyone’s . I think with y’all being soo busy constantly, homeschooling would be the best option it would be wayy more flexible and less stressful for you with less driving too. On the youtube aspect I think it will be much easier for you when the kids go back to school you’ll have more free time and more time to do like q&a videos, makeup tutorials, a day in the life and stuff like that. You’re doing amazing!! I hope this helps! Love you guys!🫶🏽

What an amazing idea to do a super tudor and home school for a bit to allow your kids to continue extra curriculars they love and build talents. That sounds like the best of all worlds. You know your kids best. You know your family best. I don't home school but I can see why it has become so popular recently. No matter which you choose, you can always change your mind later if something different works better in the future. You are a super mom. I dont know how you do it with 5 kids but you inspire me!

Hi Madison! Once again, thank you for sharing more of your life! If you want advice, I can try to help! Sorry in advance, this might be a little long! My sister and I both homeschooled for a more flexible schedule. I don't do school now (I graduated early!), but I can definitely say it made my life a little less stressful. I was apart of a competitive dance team which meant I was dancing a LOT and traveling! My sister did competitive cheer before switching to swimming. On top of that we had music lessons, I did tumbling/gymnastics, she did art class, I had therapy, we both went to a chiropractor, my sister did a few baking classes, I did acting.. yeah let's just say my mom was a super mom. Homeschooling definitely benefited us as we had a hectic schedule most days. Sometimes it was hard as I did miss out on stuff that public schools did, but at the same time I was able to do so much more. Unfortunately you have to give up things in order to do other stuff. So I'd say if your kiddos don't mind it, do it. Just make sure they still get out of the house and see friends. If they succeed in being homeschooled, even better! From my experience, I liked being homeschooled for the most part. My sister doesn't mind it. My cousins seem to love it. If they don't want to homeschool, they'll have to be willing to give something up even though it's hard. You can always try it out and see how it goes as well! I hope this helped maybe a little! You got this!

I like that u show the realness in your family its more authentic and relatable lovethe podcast and vlogs ❤ also i wanted to add that i love that you talk about anxiety depression and so on, i struggle with depression anxiety and complex PTSD its just nice to no ur not alone! I love homeschooling. SO much more time for life. We can do our schooling whenever we want and also we meet up with a bunch of groups. So we still get to have fun with other kids and moms. My little loves sports so is still able to participate in those and not be overly tired out. Also homeschool kids have interactions of people all ages so gain higher level of social skills. We have also used The Good and The Beautiful. Last thing, you can always give it a go and if it does not work out for you or your kids they can always go back to public.

There’s not really a right or wrong choice. Just do whatever works best for you and Kyler. They are so young, it’s a stage of whatever honestly. They have each other which is a blessing. Being a parent is stressful in general, 5 kids is a lot but you have to remember God gave you each of them for a reason and you are the most beautiful family I have ever seen. Im sorry you are going through so much stress but try to remember that everything is okay. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed. I have 3 brothers so it was a similar situation and it was always stressful in our house hold. Try to find inner peace each day. Everything is okay and yall are doing a great job. ❤️

I have been talking to a therapist’s for about 19 years and my anxiety has gotten bad over the last few yrs. I stared talking to someone after I had my second daughter and we found out she has Cystic Fibrosis (at the 8 days old) and it would of helped me if I had KZfaq and could ask questions. I love all of your blogs the kids being funny, loud, crying, all of that because that is normal life. Keep it coming.

I don't have children. That ship sailed long ago, but I kind of get to live vicariously through your channels. I would have loved to have been home schooled when I was a child, at least in my younger years. I was bullied for being smaller than most of my classmates and dreaded school because of it. However, an even bigger concern I have for today's youth, is safety. Schools are just not safe anymore. I feel that if one has the means, home schooling is the way to go with play dates for sociability and of course , acting classes 😉. 15:12

Hi Madison, what does your intuition and heart say ? My idea is that kids learn so much by just playing and having the freedom to play however they want. Playing is like working for kids. It gives them a huge advantage. Maybe you are to much inside of the house and not much in nature. That makes that you are constantely seeing the work in your house and it is difficult to relax. In nature you can find peace, it is calming. I think nowadays parents are doing to much and kids are doing to much, while we really benefit from free and relaxing time. It is like your daughter said : i wanne be doing what I want to do in a certain moment. This gives fulfilment. That's the free will living. If we constantely do what we are supposed to do or is on our list, it is to much and we get stressed. The stress is telling us to back down and change our ways. So I am thinking : more just playing, more nature and outside and more relaxing.

Putting dance before school and starting home school because of it means you are seeing the girls to make a career out of it as they will go professional. Putting them in all different classes in a physical school can put them in a different environment than home and they can be excited about different classes and different teachers. Let them grow up a little more so they can tell you what they really want to focus on. Seems they are in gymnastics but are not waiting at the door beaming of excitement to go. Just me opinion as I loved my science and history classes more than doing ballroom or swimming.

Madison, from someone who has no say in what you and Tyler decide 😆 I think you all should do *nothing*, like literally nothing, take a break, and then add things in, maybe seasonally. Also, if it is to dance, maybe a less intense dance school - like Saturday classes or something? I say: Homeschool!!!! It's worth it. I homeschool my 3 kids (ages 14, 7, & 5). My kids only do one extracurricular, which is an acting class which is one day a week and they all go on the same day. I would much rather focus our time on the things of God (we are Christians) than get overwhelmed by activities and schedules, etc. As for videos: post the day to day, just the every day things.

Pass on dance no future in dance. Focus on sports that will offer scholarships. We homeschool at home. We use Sonlight 4 days a week. We love it. We are in a group that we do field trips, park days, yearbook, mom and dad activities. Every state has groups that meet to do school together or just for the outside the house activities like field trips. Our daughter only does recreational dance classes that are 3 hours total a week. Team dance is not worth it. Maddie you were making the right decision- no team. Our daughter can miss and be late and it’s not a big deal. No team gymnastics. Our daughter did that and was training 27 hours a week for years. Speaking from experience. Recreational activities would make your life less stressful and give you guys freedom. Also, our daughters are in swim, diving, rec dance, rec tumbling, we do CrossFit and body building a couple times a week as a family as well. So homeschooling gives us a ton of freedom. Our oldest is in eighth grade and also started 9th grade history with liberty online along with Sonlight. By the way, we have two daughters who do all the sports I mentioned.

I'm not a parent or teacher so my comment is pretty much irrelevant BUT I think the home school with the gymnastics with a acting class once a month would be a great idea! You would get me time with the girls and at the same time they would still get social interactions at gymnastics and acting. Plus you wouldn't have to drive so much to take them to dance. I think it would make you feel like you have a more slowed down life which helps my anxiety alot! I love your channel. I see Mr Kyler can be crabby and bossy sometimes! I mean can't we all but he just seemed extra annoyed but then again most men are when they are faced with a decision 😅

My daughters homeschooled their sons. It was great. They weren’t tied down to the house. I know you and Kyler travel a lot and with the girls being homeschooled you are free to take them with you! They don’t have to get up as early. I think their stress level is nearly non existent. Your stress level may be up having them home all day but. It won’t be as stressful getting them to dance, gymnastics etc. Please not worry about your house being messy or the laundry piled up. We ALL have those days. If it really bothers you, hire someone, even part time to help. Having help will reduce your stress. Please don’t think you’re a bad Mom because of your house. From what I’ve seen, you’re one of the best Mom’s ever! Your kids are not starved for attention and you’re always showing how much you love them!! I can’t imagine having 5 children and keeping up with everything you do with and for them! All you can do is the best you knew how to do at the time. I Love watching your videos. I enjoy watching your children growing up! Love, love seeing their birthday parties!! Remember, there will always be dishes, laundry and dusting to do, but you only get one chance to be with your children and train them in the way they should behave and treat others!! God bless you and your family!!

I think you should look into if there are hybrid options for school. Maybe they could go a few days a week in order to get that social aspect and then the days where they have dance or other activities they could meet with the Tudor for a few hours in the morning before their extracurriculars. I think its great they have so much going on it will turn them into very well rounded individuals and that's so important!! clearly you're an amazing mom for getting them involved in so much and caring so much

Drop dance especially if it conflicts with school and find another fun activity for the girls that's easy and less stressful.

I’m sorry you are so stressed. It is understandable. Even though you guys do have a lot of blessings like Kyler said, having 5 children is not always easy. I love your family! You guys are trying so hard to be the best parents ever. I learned the hard way that if I didn’t have “me” time and allowed myself the rest I needed, that I was too overwhelmed. Try not to have such high expectations of yourselves. I hope you find an excellent nanny and take some time to go on dates together. Spend quality time together and you and Kyler do things that you enjoy (like Kyler golfing and you going to a spa) Talk therapy can be amazing!

Homeschooling is the way to go . They can dance and do more activities . Don’t worry about socializing. My sister is still homeschooling 3 children and dance for years . They love dance . It does work . Dance is important to my niece’s. Sound important to u as a mom .

They are so young for dance team & have so many years left to join. I’d take a break this year and just enroll them in regular dance classes 1-2 times a week. You can also try homeschool for a year and go back to public if it doesn’t work for you! I’ve been considering it for years and can’t make up my mind 😂.

Elementary teacher here!!! We find a pattern that students that have been pulled out and homeschooled, if re-entered into public schools, struggle. It’s not challenging enough, they’re not used to routines and schedules, and their social skills are not developmentally appropriate. I think if you’re going to commit to pulling them out, pull them out but keep them socialized! Kids learn and absorb SO much from peers around them. Whatever you choose will be the best choice!! 💜

What should you do, is do partial homeschool basically 2x a week have the kids go to a partial class setting and the other 3 days be at home. I agree its time for the girls do something less demanding and let them be kids too. I wish you the best. I would definitely talk to Savannah about the pros and cons she has discovered doing homeschooling.

I homeschooled my two boys. One is a Pastor and one is a Welder Since we go to church, they had tons of friends. Socializing was not a problem at all. We schooled thru a church. They would go in for all their tests and if they were doing an outing or something like that, they did not with them. They keep all your records and order everything. You can get Bible based curriculum or go through another company. We did ACE which is a Bible based curriculum. There are a lot of programs out there you just have to ask or research a little. My kids loved it and wouldn’t have changed it for anything. I also had several nieces and nephews and also grandkids that chose the same curriculum. They went to conventions and competed against kids all over the world. Most if the graduates have gone on to college and had no problem being accepted. They loved getting these kids because they are taught manners etc. I hope it works out for you. God Bless!!! Just sneak away in your backyard and breathe in the fresh air. It does help.

@@TheMADLife1 That is crazy.. and the Dance School needs to do better.. and be more inclusive. What they are essentially doing.. is making the home-schooling decision for the minority of parents (like yourselves) who aren't home-schooling. It's really crappy, divisive and dictatorial of them. Dance schools have enormous influence on our kids.. and it's not all Dance related. Is it worth talking with them.. and seeing if there is a fairer and more inclusive option. And if they say that it's about the 'majority' it may be worth considering how home-schooling became the 'majority' with this specific demographic? No shade at all towards home-schooling.. I'm all for what best suits a child and their parents and Family. This is a whole different issue.. and no parent should ever be deciding 2 weeks before school returning.. whether to home school or not.. based on a decision/ ultimatum from the Dance School they love, frequent and support. With all honesty, they are lucky to have your girls there.. you have more bargaining ability than you probably realise, lol.. so try not to let it cause too much anxiety. Sorry you both and the girls are being placed in this situation- two weeks before the school term recommences 🙏 💕

This is coming from someone who’s done both homeschooling and regular school. I think at the age the children are right now that homeschool would be detrimental to them. Yes, they *could* get ahead, but they could also fall behind. And socialization is just never the same. Extracurriculars are important, but their core social group is at school and they could end up resenting you if you take that from them. If bullying was a problem and you’d confronted that in many ways and exhausted your resources..maybe that would be a time to consider homeschooling. But when they’re young and thriving, I think they should attend a regular school and go to extracurricular classes that adhere to the school schedule. Perhaps find a dance school that offers lessons to their age group after school hours or weekends. Why would they have classes during the kids’ school day in the first place??
