#re-pothousplant, #FicusBenjamina, #Rootbound
The term "rootbound" means that the roots of a plant have taken up the whole space within the pot that contains it. Sometimes the roots can even escape through drainage hole in the bottom of the container and form a hard disc, (this is what exactly happened with my plant, as you can see in the video)
There are two primary solutions for a rootbound plant.
First, you can re-pot your plant, in a bigger pot with more soil, while loosening the roots.
And the second solution is to root-prune your plant.
Although root-pruning may sound intimidating, but don't worry. It is like doing a surgery to get rid of an unwanted growth.
Re-potting a root-bound plant encourages nutrient absorption for healthy growth, which is crucial to grow fuller and healthier plants.
It took me more than 4 hours and a lot of muscle power to re-pot my Ficus Benjamina.
