Күн бұрынKia Ora or Hello, finally I can upload my apartment tour since i'm finally happy with the outcome. I am currently living in the Gangwon-do Prefecture, in the city Wonju. This the apartment that EPIK provided me and I think its pretty cute!

I LOVED this video! I'm planning on becoming an EPIK teacher as well, but I'm nervous about the apartments. Some people get beautiful apartments like this one, while others get older and less-appealing apartments. Of course its rent free and that's something to be thankful for, but what do you think the chances are of getting an apartment like this one? Thanks!

Thank you! x it’s really hard to say. You get told if you live more rural your places are sometimes bigger but my place is actually quite small for being rural. I have a friend in Sokcho who has a 2 bedroom so it’s really just chance. But I know if you get Seoul it’s likely you will get something small. I think it’s also how you make it your own! So don’t be nervous 💗

Oh definitely if you love your city, school or area you can renew and you get a renewal bonus for doing so. They want teachers to stay longer for a year 😊😊

Since you're not from the 7 native speaking countries you are not eligable to teach in Korea through EPIK. However, if you can find a sponsor here in Korea like at a hagwon (English academies/private institutes) you would be able to. A sponsor is a company that will pay for your visa to allow you to work :) Hope this helps you!

I am in Musil-dong in Wonju which is a prime location for me I have the Musil eating/shopping area. I am also a 15 min walk to the bus terminals/ main night life area and 15 min bus ride to the main shopping area Jungang Market :) I don't know how much my apartment costs per month as my school pays for it but I know they have a 500,000 won cap per month.

Did you get to choose what city you get to teach in? What about apartment?

You can apply for a city but they ultimately pick what city you are in. When you apply they ask if you are okay with that. For apartments there are two options they choose the apartment and they pay for it or you choose the apartment that is 400,000 won a month or cheaper (they will pay for it per month) but you have to pay for the deposit which is around 5-10 thousand and you get it back at the end of the year. 😊

@@jaylani206 I'm not sure sorry as I did the other option, But from the process I would say 1-2 months as you find out your city around late Dec early Jan and you leave around mid-late Feb

For people that only know the big cities like Seoul and Busan this is rural in comparison. Though I do understand this ain’t rural compared to places that are “gu’s”. 👍🏻

Also I grew up on a farm in the middle of nowhere in New Zealand so I do know what rural is 😂
