Michele- though I miss your classroom vlogs, I love that you’re still providing great content. Keeping my “positive pants on,” I’d love to know one thing you’ve learned this year (and are grateful for) about not being able to vlog in the classroom.

When I was constantly vlogging in my room, I felt the need to have everything be perfect which put a lot of pressure on me. I am very grateful to have that pressure lifted!

I honestly don't do any school related stuff on Sunday. I like to get it all done if possible on Friday night-which means that I work from 7:30 am to 11:00 pm a lot of times. I had a student tell me this week that he didn't want to be a teacher because of how much work we have to do and we don't get paid overtime.

I can't believe how little she manages to do outside of school! I work pretty much the whole of Sunday on planning and marking and I'm usually still at school till nearly 7pm marking, copying etc and I might still have to bring work home.

Im in my 3rd month of teaching and I want to be just as good of a teacher as you, BUT I know this has taken you a few years to build up to. I have so many expectations for myself. I took my thanksgiving break to do NOTHING and I think it’s just what I needed. However, i need to start planning for next week 😅

You guys are great at heads up lol. Last time I tried to play that with my hockey friends (we’re a very rowdy bunch) all we did was yell clues at the person guessing and cuss them out when they got it wrong and nobody could hear anything and did I mention we were at a restaurant?? 😂😂😂 we failed

Have you ever used Crock-Pot liners? They are a lifesaver for me so I don't have to scrub. 💜 Saves me time during the week when my time outside of school is so valuable.

Yeah I feel for you on the grading writing. I’m not a teacher, but I usually help my former 6th grade teacher grade (we’re pretty close, so I’ll go in in the morning before school and help her) and last year when she was a science/math teacher it was easy cause it was just like answer keys but this year with like essays oh man it’s hard. If it makes you feel any better, I’m in 8th grade, and we just wrote 12 page essays. There are about 140 students who wrote this 12 page essay and two teaches to grade them. So at least you’re not doing that. (I mean, I sure hope 4th traders aren’t writing 12 page essays!) have a good day!

I’m student teaching next fall. I keep telling myself that my schedule and load will lighten up soon. Then I watch teacher vlogs.... oh well. At least I’ll only have one job instead of the three I have had for the past 3.5 years. Maybe. Even as a student, I spend so much on supplies that I need a second job to afford it all....

Every teacher is different. There are some that will come early or stay late. Some who grade on the weekends. And then there are some who show up right on time and leave at the bell. Some who don't touch school on the weekends. You find what works for you. There is not "right" or "wrong".
