Y'all!! The sound of " doing oil change myself" was pretty scary at first. Let me just say it was Not that hard and I would do it again next time hehe.

Hey, Israa Great job for your first oil change A couple of suggestions for you. Rather than buy two 5 quart containers I know it’s a little cheaper to do that but it be better to buy one 5 quart and two individual 1 quarts. Oil doesn’t really go bad but it’s much better to use fresh oil, especially in a high performance turbo charged engine. So for the next oil change buy 5 quart and use the leftover oil not a huge deal but after that, I would just buy 7 quarts at a time, no measuring no leftover oil. And as far as jacking the car up, what I would do get some low profile ramps, that you can drive up on and change the oil that way or there is a center jacking point just in front of the oil drain you probably need a low profile Jack to reach it but you could jack it up in the center set two jackstands one on each front jacking point both of those would be a little safer than what you did just a couple suggestions to help you out. Love the car love the color have a great one.

Definitely pick a safer way to jack up the car. I prefer to use two jacks and for added safety I put in 2 jack stands on both side. Safety is number #1 priority

The hassle is the Main reason why I started doing my oil changes. The last time I took mine to dealer I was told I had to reschedule because they didn’t have the supplies to perfore the job 😅

Are you sure that 5W-30 meets the warranty requirements? Also, it's good to have a box of nitrile gloves so your skin doesn't touch the oil.

i've had toyota change my oil for the first year so far (twice, 5k intervals) they took almost 3 hours each time. but its nice to get it for free for now haha.

They didn't have a tech to work on Supra the day I took my car to Toyota . I called to schedule an appointment, they quoted me one price and when my husband called, they gave him a completely different price. I decided to not take it there lol

You got very lucky the car didn't slide off of the jack. All it takes is a small bump to the jack and its over.

You need another jack, be safe gurl...

You don't. All you need is a jack stand under the parts of the car you are working on. However I did not see a jack stand under the front of the car, and you should never work under a jack alone like it looks like they might have done on the front half of the car. Easiest thing to do is just get some race ramps and just drive the car up on them. No jacking and no jack stands this way.

You used the wrong kind of oil, it’s suppose to be 0w-20 European formula since it’s a bmw engine

@@drewskeez1156hi, it says to use 0w20 under the hood. Unless tuned by MHD recommended to use 0w40 or 5w40

@@drewskeez1156 if you are tracking the car or racing it. Then yes, you need 5w30 oil. But if you’re only taking it out once a week or just driving it for fun, then 0w20 is your friend.

it's still a turbo car and that turbo gets pretty hot compared to NA motors and oil runs thru it, I would def run a 5w-30 at minimum. The 0-20 is for fuel economy @@beethoven8256
