Frank Crumit is probably my favorite vaudeville singer of the 1920s. His talent with different stringed instruments, charming vocals and music always gives me a happy feeling whenever I listen.
Crumit's first experience as an entertainer was in a minstrel show when he was 5 years old. As he grew older, he attempted to pursue a career in electrical engineering but found himself more interested in music. He began making records for Columbia starting in 1919, often billed alongside other singers such as Al Jolson. He was also a radio entertainer, appearing on radio programs with his wife, Julia Sanderson.
Recorded in Camden, NJ, on June 10, 1925.
Released as Victor 19701. Also issued on HMV.
Early Victor Electric recording, with (VE) stamped in runout.
