In this video, I'll take you through my journey of building out my Tenere 700 to get it ready for my trip through South and Central America.
When we buy any adventure bike, there are always things we're going to want to add to either improve it's performance or make it "your own". With my Tenere, I've gone about some 40 modifications to get it to whee I want it. Some of the adds are small and inexpensive, others more expensive, but I believe that most of all of these mods make the great bike, just a little bit better.

I'm picking up a 2024 T7 today. Nice mods! The same whoops happened to me in mud at the Giant Loop Rally last Summer, I was alone and it was a bear to lift in the snotty mud. lol Touratech bars saved my plastics as well. Beautiful area to ride. I'm down in Humboldt County California, nature is awesome!

I'm 68, working on second knee replacement. Time to get the show on the road in next few months after their winter.

I've had 1 knee replacement. The recovery sucks, but once through it, life is great again. Good luck with your 2nd. Hope I don't need that:)

Good vid, I just picked a hardly used 2021 T7, and have spent the last week plus buying stuff for it - a lot of the same to what you did. Also have the Acerbis tank. I did the Mivv exhaust, and relocated out of the impact zone. Got the Scotts - beware you'll have to use a heat gun to modify the tank 5mm to make room for the Scotts. Greetings from W Van.

Hey, I'm from West Van. Born and raised. Just moved up to Kamloops last summer.loving all the riding here. I didn't have to make any mods to the tank to allow for the Acerbis tank...yes it's close, but ti works.

Nice video, I'll be following along on your trip. That's something I'd love to do on my T7 but will probably not get the chance, too many commitments here at home to spend that amount of time away...

Yes, it’s a huge commitment that’s for sure, and it has to make sense. I’ve been planning this for a couple of years, so I have to admit it’s not an easy feat.

Hi! I have same graphics on my T7😉 I can share some experience with 23ltr tank and exactly those stickers - they dont work together… initially i have them on acerbis tank, they went off after 3 months, I mean completly off. Anyway, I had to go back to oem tank due to my suspention & triple clamp upgrade. One more thing about acerbis tank, it is actually around 1kg lighter then oem.

Yes, I like how the tank is lighter...wonder if it's actually lighter with a full tank, vs the OEM with full tank? Would be close.

Great video...I am picking up a 22 model shortly & will be doing all the mods you mentioned as well as heavier suspension springs & valving. Cheers! Would the graphics fit the new Accerbis tank?

I think the graphics would fit the new tank however, the new tank is plastic and plastic tanks are porous and graphics don’t stick well. There are applications that sealed plastic , so that may be an option, but I need to get that section of graphics off the existing tank. That may be problematic.

What would you consider hard highway riding? Like 80mph ? Or just smashing the throttle to pass cars? You mention fuel consumption if riding hard on freeway.

While I respect guys who are into modification, the T7 doesn't really need any work unless you are in some professional field like racing.

It def needs suspension work and most of all the other mods I've done are for personal reasons of course. However, I would say a few others are necessary: ie: The Anti-bobble, the higher windscreen, the one-finger Camel ADV clutch lever and the heated grips if you're riding in any kind of cool weather.
