ok so i just binged watched all of your videos. im your size, we have probably about the same body, same hair, same style. you are sooo confident, and lately i have just been feeling like crap about myself. complete dirt. i cried a lot, im a bartender and i covered up completly stopped doing my hair and make up as excessevly because i kept on feeling 'youre too fat to be bold.' you cant do this cuz youre too fat. youre not like to other girls. thank you for giving me a bit of confidence back. watching you opened my eyes. its okay to be different. its awesome. i swear to god your videos jus got me out of a ditch. Thank you so much helen. you dont know how much you helped me!

I'm on a "my tattoos" youtube video craze lately and SO MANY start by saying they got their first tattoo young without enough planning and that they recommend waiting a longer. Most don't regret it per se, like you... they accept it, but would've made a different choice if had their current maturity.

Wanted a tattoo since I was about 13. I've always been into 50's and pinup , I've had an idea for about 2 years and I was thinking about getting it done on my 20th. I'm only petrified of regretting it since I'm very fickle and I have no clue if i'm going through a phase right now lol

I'm 15. I've been planning most of my tattoos on a serious level since I was 14 but I've wanted tattoos since I was 12. Depending on the size, place and colouring cover ups are easily done and if you're that desperate you can always laser remove them. One tip for you (or anyone wanting a tattoo) is get it drawn up and put it somewhere you will see it everyday. My designs are on my notice board and wardrobe. If in a couple years you've become bored of it, don't get it done. If you still like it then get it done.

A big fan of tattoos, have one, and love yours, however, just read an article in the newspaper where a woman lost her job because of the tattoo she had on her foot! Obviously your tattoos fit in with your lifestyle, but I would say to others just beware and think about where you and what you seee yourself doin in the future.

Actually she can sue that company. Its not legal to fire someone over a tattoo unless its in the company's policy about specific tattoos. I'd sue the hell out of them Bahahaha. I hate that society deems tattoos negatively still when they are just expressions of art.

In all honestly, in the nicest way possible, I think we need to do the exact opposite of not getting tattoos because it could potentially limit career options. We shouldn't have to decide between expressing ourselves and having a job. I know the perception of tattoos is changing because look how many people have them and how visible they are! Idk I just think it's really important that we keep being ourselves and doing what we want as long as it makes us happy and healthy. One day, our generation is gonna be in charge, and we are gonna give a fuck if people have tattoos, so I think we should sick with that mentality now, too! With that being said, it's not like I plan on going out and getting a face tattoo, but at the same time I think it's so unreasonable to no do what we want because someone else who doesn't really know us wants us to look a certain way.

TheEmeybird I agree with Emybird. Society doesn't want to except people for having a way of expressing themselves. I have both of mine in places where I can make them visible and cover them up.

i agree with TheEmeybird and also it shouldn't be such a big deal anymore with jobs i think. almost everyone has them now and if every boss were not to hire someone because of a tattoo or piercing no one would have any jobs and no bosses would have any employees

My first tattoo when I was 16, its a black and white classic pinup girl and I still absolutely love it! I've always loved vintage and retro, and now I dress and style myself as such, so she still really fits.

i got my first (and only) at 17, i don't regret it aside from the colour i chose. i wish i had have got more but its probably a good thing i can get them now as an older person because i have been through life and know whats real and important to me xxx

I have one tattoo, I got it not long after I turned 18. I originally wanted this heart with a spike going through it - it would have been on my lower back so essential a tramp stamp but that tattooist closed down the studio. Instead I got a quote on my upper back, in between my two shoulders and it says 'inner beauty counts' in fancy, calligraphy style writing. I do regret getting it but it's part of me now. I do want one of those sugar skulls on my thigh though.

I've never been a tattoo fan, until a couple of years a go. I became obsessed with a show in America called 'Best Ink.' All the butterflies are lovely. 'Stand Sure' is brilliant! :D

I regret my first tattoo too; the chinese character for year of the dragon. I was 17 when I got that done and I thought it was all deep and meaningful... ugh. Buuuut I wouldn't get it removed because it meant something to me at that point in my life and that has to count for something surely? :)

I totally agree with you about not tattooing yourself during phases, yet I somehow think it would be kind of awesome when you're older just to look at your body and remember all of your phases and how they were..

I got mine when I turned 18, I planned exactly what I was having when I was 14. I love my drawing for 4 years so I got it and I still love it :) My only regret is I wish I got it an inch further down xD

I have 6 and I regret 1 that I got when I was 16. It's a Swallow on my collar bone. I like the idea but it was done very badly by a scratcher. When it's re done i know I'll like it again.

Typically I'm more of a fan of black and white but I really like the heart thing on your arm. Also I had deja vu when you were explaining your thigh tattoo and it was like I knew everything you were going to say about it before you did.

I want to get my first tattoo of me and my god when we were very small. We were both 2 and she died when we were 13. Can somebody tell me if thats a good idea...ive talked to a tattoo artist and he said it was a good idea.

I've only got one tattoo, which I actually got when I was only 15 years old. Kind of regret what I got, but at the same time I don't really regret getting one, because me and my mother decided to be spontaneous and just get one, so it kind of represents the bond between me and my mother I feel. I have a small heart on the right lower part of my belly, so it's not really visible to the entire world either :)

I plan on getting a tattoo for my first pet as well; he died two years ago and he was my best friend in the world. I've got the design and everything all planned out I just need to find someone I trust to do it since it's so meaningful to me. I also have two other tattoos and I don't regret either of them! Loved this video. :) x

Carry a picture/drawing of it around in your purse/wallet/as your phone background and if you aren't sick of it in like a year or so then you could think about getting it tattooed. :)

If you find something you like,draw it on yourself and live with it for a few weeks :) then you can see if you enjoy seeing it there and if you like the design :)

AliCatt777 i always try to think of it as in if for some reason i didn't like the tattoo anymore, would i regret having it on my body? If the answer is no, then go for it! I have some friends who don't necessarily love the tattoo they got once upon a time but now it symbolises something else and they are still cool to have it there. just a thought! Other thing I've done is hang a photo on the wall so i see it when i first wake up and if i don't get sick of it, i know its a keeper! ahahha

LOL that poor bra strap. I hate when that continually happens. It's like, CMON bra strap you know the rules. But on another note! I have a first pet tattoo too!! It's a finger tattoo and it has a little doodle of a cat face next to the name "RAMONA" in my moms handwriting because my mom loved her and so did I. It's always nice to hear of other people with pet tattoos :) and I love all your other ones! That diamond crystal is so cool!!!!

Awesome video :) You're so right, I've always wanted to be heavily tattooed and had a few odd bit done over the years but I'm so glad I waited (Until I was 34!) to start my sleeves. Needs them finished and then onto my legs :). I love that heart on your arm, it's gorgeous and the colours are so pretty xx

i LOVE tattoos, i got.. 13? i really don't know, im too lazy to count xD I wait till my 18 birthday to get tattoed I do regret some of them (2 actually), 1 of them is already cover it, and the other one is just too common, its not that is awful, or bad.. is just TOO COMMON! (I do have a tattoo about my boyfriend, we got 5 years together, i do it in our first year, its not his name, but its about him)

At least your first tattoo is well executed! I don't care for my first tattoo either, it's a heart about the size of a quarter on my tailbone that looks like a blob now. I got it when I was 18 as well, and I'm a lot older now. Someday I'll have it covered.

My first tat was a spare of the moment tattoo, but I wasn't going through a phase... they had a Friday the 13th offer on (they did 13 tattoos on people for £13 each) so I thought "fuck it". I love it, and quite a few people will have the same tattoo because you had to choose from a selection. Its only diddy, I have another dedicated to my heart rat, and im planning a thigh piece next woo woo

Got my first tattoo when I was 32 yrs old! Still just the one and I did wait a long time as I wanted to be 100% sure I was okay with it being on my body for the rest of my life. LOL! It's a Celtic knot and I love it! Next one is probably going to be a feather or a bird..maybe both.. :P

I'm 18 and I got my first tattoo a month ago. It's a drawing of mine that represents my first pet. He was a German Shepherd and I grew up with him. He was super duper special it was rough when he died. So now I have him forever with me

Probably one of my fave tattoo tag videos I've seen, because you gave good advice! And I also like that you named the artists cos that interests me almost more than the designs half the time! I love your shoulder/half sleeve and your leg! Also representing the 'under 18 and just why?' club. And the 'went to a festival abroad' club. Although luckily all of mine are alright, I would still rather have better ones in those places! My tattoos I got over the age of 20 are the ones I REALLY love to bits. We live and learn eh.

I've got my dog freddy tattood on my wrist and my cats name and my star sign on my other with a little paw, so it's kind of a triple meaning tattoo and is by far my favourite "Leo" as if I ever have a little boy he shall be named Leo ♡♡

That's why I just want two simple star on my hips. I have the picture on my phone since forever and everyday i look at it and i still want it three years later soo yeah i think it's ok to get it done. And since i'm in love with piercing like since im 8 im always looking at pictures of piercing and i want all of them i will get hips piercings inside the stars it will be unique and im sure i will always love it :)

they can really fade over time, you may even have to get them fixed after a few years

BillyTalent195 do all tattoos fade after a few years? or at least black lines? Or is it maybe that the tattoo artist made the tattoo too deep into the skin and that is why it looks faded? I really want a a tattoo but this is my biggest fear... that it will look ugly and grey after a couple years :'(

Knipp Udd black fades to grey-ish/green and other colors get paler as well, its totally normal. depending on the body part where you get it it may happen fairly quickly or take a long time. but you can get it touched up and it will look better. however if youre very afraid of that you might just not wanna get one after all, there's no shame. just decide how badly you want one

Knipp Udd They do fade, but not that badly if you keep them out the sun and USE SUN CREAM. I have a script tattoo thats several years old now and is still black because I always use factor 50. I get really annoyed when i see other people crisping theirs in the sun. It also depends on your skin type, I have very pale skin that holds on well to colour.
