My students fell about laughing like crazy (they're 9 and 10 yo) when I told them my teacher bag was actually designed to be a nappy (diaper) bag. But I tell you, that thing is big enough for everything and has a ton of pockets to keep it organised. AND it's just plain black on the outside with a beautiful floral design on the inside liner. I love it to bits. A good bag that takes everything is a MUST!

Kindergarten has changed a lot since I attended in the 90's. Because of the No Child Left Behind policies and emphasis on testing, it has become much more structured and focused on memorizing information with 7 hour days that have less fun time and many classes have no nap time. I've been thinking of becoming a kindergarten teacher, but I'm worried about the restrictions placed on kindergarten teachers. What tips do you have about keeping the class fun, encouraging social interaction/empathy, and teaching students how to learn by themselves?

I love my 365 Happy Planner! If I was a full-time classroom teacher I'd be buying that bag. As a sub I grab a Lands End tote bag with Mrs. Childs embroidered on it for my iPad and school folders, ID tag, etc.
