I thought I'd make some videos where I tell you about my guitars, and then noodle about on them a bit. Here's the first, where I talk about my Tele. Check out the gear section of my site for more info on this particular guitar and the rest of my stuff: coming soon!

I started learning to play guitar after I retired, about 7 years ago, as a "hobby," and to help ward off the "old timers" diseases. My first guitar was a Squier Butterscotch Blonde telecaster that I bought used. I had it set up, added new strings, and bought a Marshall 15 watt amp. If it wasn't for a few friends, and KZfaq, I wouldn't even have attempted to learn how to play. I have since added an Epiphone Hummingbird Artist acoustic, an Oscar Schmidt Delta 30 semi-hollow body, a Fender Telecaster Modern Player, and a used MIM Fender strat to my collection. I still consider myself a beginner/intermediate player, but man do I enjoy playing, and continuing to learn! Thank you, Adrian for all you do, as well as others on here that give freely of their time and talent! Cheers, mate! :)

Telecasters are the real work-horse guitars, offering such a broad range of possibilities - I recently bought a Squier Tele, and playing it was like meeting an old friend!

Got a ‘52 Tele reissue from ‘99. Immediately fell in love. Never played a 7.25 radius before it, but playing chords is effortless. It’s like your fingers fall into the right place every time. Neck pickup is okay, but the bridge pickup is out of this world.

I bought one of these reissues in 1990 not long after they came out. I recognise the neck pocket gaps!lol. It was a great guitar and I regret selling it to fund some verandah doors! The nitro on the back of the neck never set, tough, and kept coming off the whole time i had it. But in terms of everything it does and how it plays you are spot on. Can’t go past a Tele.

I'm glad you did this video showing your tele. When I was fairly young, and saw electric guitars in a store, the one that caught my eye was a real 1952 blond tele. Years later, in fact just 2 yrs ago, my wife bought me a tele, I choose the MIM Baja blond tele, mainly because I like the chunkier neck on it vs the American made 52 reissue. Mine is all stock except for, and like your tele, I have Callaham saddles on mine. In my humble opinion the Baja tele is a vast improvement over the Classic Vibe tele, which I had for about 3 yrs. Now, if I could play my tele as well as you , I'd be a happy man.

My favorite Tele was a G&L ASAT Classic with the dishpan bridge, six saddles, a three-bolt maple neck, and Mary Kaye finish. Loved that guitar.

I'd been avoiding buying a Tele due to the reputation they have for not easy playability. Finally, after a couple years of studying guitar (and playing short-scale Epiphones and Fenders) I picked one up and was stunned by just how great it felt! True, the 25.5"-scale neck is a bit more of a stretch-and I find it easier to manage the longer scale tension with 9-gauge strings-but overall the Tele is a joy to play and a very "amp-friendly" guitar.

Thanks, mate! I picked up a Fender Squire Tele for $389 a couple of years ago at Sweetwater and have been pleased with the instrument. Surprisingly good value! Anderton’s did a blindfold challenge (video is on YT) and the Squire Tele passed with flying colors. 👍🏻

I have a lovely USA Deluxe Telecaster in Montego Black with a gold scratch plate and noiseless pickups. It’s a joy to play and feels and sounds absolutely brilliant. Any serious guitar player should have a tele in their collection along with a quality valve amp.

I have a Jazzmaster at the moment, but a tele is next in my list. Love the Jazzmaster as it was my first guitar, but it's gotta be a telecaster next.

Growing up in the 70's/80's, it was LP and Strats. Loved Steve Howe's Blonde Tele with Humbucker and snagged a 92 just like it and put Joe Barden Danny Gatton Pups! Now have a 62 AVRI Surf Green Tele and a 75 Black Tele Custom ala Keef! Have more Teles than any other model!
