what was your favourite read of 2023?

Love that you go with what you really enjoy and not just for the "best writing". I want to read stuff that I have FUN reading. New subscriber. Added extra stuff in my tbr now.

Fireborne was one of my favorites last year. I read the entire trilogy as it released, and I barely survived the wait between books. I’m so glad you loved it.

That's quite the list! I'm 62% into The Emperor's Blades and I'm enjoying it so far!

My favorite book of the year was Children of Memory, the final book in Children of Time. I’m always forgetting to pick up sci fi books and then when I do, they end up being my favorite! Glad you had such a great reading year & I love always watching your content 🥰 I’m just the worst about actually commenting lol Have an amazing 2024 🎉

I predicted some of these on your top list. I knew Eska would be up there for you as well as The Will of the Many and Powerless and Fireborne and Fourth Wing. Fourth Wing was also in my top list. I hope 2024 is another great reading year for you!

Nyaxia is on top of my FanRo TBR and I also want to try The Will of the Many, because it's been everywhere. My favourite books of 2023 were Legendborn and The Children of Gods and Fighting Men

Serpent was so goood! And I also absolutely adored The Will of the Many! Looking forward to picking up many of these others!

So many of these are now on the TOP of my priority TBR! My best book(s) of the year were the Faithful and the Fallen series. I read Malice, Valor and Ruin this year and fell in love with these characters. I’m sure when I read Wrath this year it will become an all time favorite series for me. ❤❤❤

My absolute favourite read of the year was also a series: the All Souls series by Deborah Harkness. I'm hoping to get to Serpent and the Wings of Night soon, I have really high hopes for it.

It's so much fun to watch your enthusiasm for all your favorite reads. This reminded to read more Mark Lawrence. I've read Broken Empire and Red Sister + Grey Sister, but need to read Holy Sister still. I so agree on The Will of the Many. This wa my number 2 read last year. Can't wait to see where this series goes now after the epilogue. All the possibilities! In 2024 I also should pick up more Rob J Hayes. I've read the first 2 Mortal Technique books and really loved them. I bought a lot of his backlog as well and it seems I should try out War Eternal soon. I had a similar experience with Emperor's Blade. I've read it in 2014, liked it, but didn't love it. But I never followed up with the rest of the series. I think I should re-read it and continue the series. YA is really not for me, but I've heard you loud and clear. If curiosity wins out, I'll pick up Fireborne.

My favourite reads are Fourth Wing and Iron Flame, especially the latter. Usually it's hard to pick just one or two, but not this time. These two stand out the most and I thoroughly enjoyed them both and love them wholeheartedly😊 And this is all thanks to you. Thank you for introducing me to Fourth Wing, that's a true gift. ❤Thank you!❤

I have the same opinions on that YA fantasy trilogy. In 2023 I really learned to keep an open mind with YA

Hmm. I don't have a solid answer for favorite of the year, but maybe King/Emperor of Thorns, Ruin of Kings, or Promise of Blood. I really liked Touch of Light, the Book of the Ancestors trilogy, and Legends & Lattes, too.

Oooo I have had red sister on my shelf for awhile now but hearing you talk about it finally motivates me to pick it up. I cant wait to get to ghost eaters. So happy to see it on this list! I need to read crowns of nyxia too 😂 I added sooo many of these to my tbr ❤️🍒🍓🍄📕

Nestlings sounds so interesting so that's definitely going on my TBR but I feel like there's only one book I can pick for your bingo spot: along the razor's edge!

I feel like this year was one of my worst years enjoyment wise... But I was also stressing because of grad school. Spring semester was awful due to a group class with some unrealistic classmates. Fall semester was stressful because it was my final semester. I'm hoping next year will be more solid. I am eager to read some of these. I feel like sometimes we need mindless reads so I always look to add some to my TBR. I really enjoyed Nat Cassidy this year. I believe I liked Mary better but nestlings was solid. I feel like the Aurelian cycle will be first spot. I read that and thoroughly enjoyed. Had four days off of work and read all three during that time.

and now I want to reread Fireborne...
