I'm so excited to have you on board with Fortnite Festival. Epic Games acquired Harmonix two years ago, so it's safe to say this has been in development for quite some time. We NEED new instruments to play this mode. I expect them to analyze how successful this mode turns out, and if it does turn out great, they may consider it. We've been struggling to get decent hardware for Guitar Hero and Rock Band for years now, so this could easily be a good opportunity for them to consider it. Excited to see how this all turns out honestly.

I mean, the controllers are nice but I really, really don't care about Harmonix or Activision anymore. The community has survived many years with Guitar Hero being dead and Rock Band being on life support. YARG is great and only getting better and CH is already mature.

They’ve owned rock band since acquiring them in 2021 along with harmonix. Actually on Twitter the guy who made Fortnite said they had this idea mapped up since 2017 which he shows the blueprint for it. It showed to Fortnite Hub and then the multiple metaverse island around it which included this festival mode. It’s wild they thought about this so far out years ago.

I’ve been a fan of both fortnite and guitar hero (honestly just Rythm games in general) and seeing the guitar hero/rock band community actually get excited for festival is so cool to see, most people who’s fav series gets added to fortnite are always mad af, just seeing a community so open minded and in some cases excited is just really refreshing to see

Never been that big on Battle Royale, but I do occasionally play Save the World. The fact that Fortnite is pulling these modes out of nowhere has made me actually excited about Fortnite, which is a first for me. Now we can have Master Chief, Solid Snake, Peter Griffin and Rick Sanchez jamming out on stage without having to mod a game.

This is probably gonna be making a new generation of rhythm game fans, so I'm at least happy about that. Lack of strumming is gonna be weird to get used to, but I think it's worth it if it makes it more accessible. I really hope we can use peripherals on consoles, though, 5-fret has always felt weird on controllers to me and my PC probably won't be strong enough to run this well. It's a selfish reason, but I doubt I'm the only person with that issue.

@@TheJigokuSasukeThey could just make the longest chugs into trills or streams, and thatd pretty much fix the whole thing. Strumless jacks of that pace are totally doable in short bursts for even semi-competent players.

I dont really play/follow rhythm games beyond watching this channel, nor am I a big Fortnite guy, but its so fucking cool to see he revival of a rhythm game subgenre like this. Obviously fans never forgot about these games, and theres still a huge community around them, but brand new, official content backed by the biggest video game on the planet? That shit is exciting. This style of rhythm game is so iconic and frankly important to the history of video games, and I really hope Fortnite can introduce a whole new audience to these games. Also respect to Fortnite for just being so damn ambitious lol

I'm honestly really excited about this, because there's going to be so many people who will be introduced to rhythm games because of this. and hopefully that means we get a new guitar hero game or at the very least, new controllers made.

Never was a big guitar hero/rock band guy or rhythm games in general but this mode is so fun. Just play it all day with my brothers and friends. Hope they support it a lot and add much more songs. Maybe they can do like community polls for certain genres of music to try getting those

Either way the reality is that guitar hero and rock band will never release the same way. If people want the old experience they can play the old games. Festival (so far) is the future whether we like it or not

I wonder if this is some answer to Ubisoft's Rocksmith+ and how they handle licensed songs. It's a lot easier to phase out expired licenses via Fortnite than doing it for RockBand. All in all, I wonder if this is another way for Epic Games to measure if a new Rhythm game is viable nowadays.

Im quite hyped for this as everyone, but im also confused, is there just no crowd meter whatsoever? Another challenge of going up the difficulties when starting out was seeing if you could pass the song in general, and in co-op makes it more interesting. Without it I feel like this will still be good, but almost no other drawback of tackling higher difficulties than just a harder chart. Still tho, I hope its gon be good

Extremely anxious and excited for this game mode. I miss Rock Band and Guitar Hero, we need a new AAA rhythm game! I'm interested to see if they have different difficulty levels, and I really hope this is a foray into an instrument-supported revival.

I heard from a source I can’t remember but third party support has been already implemented for Guitar Controllers, but there’s also official support coming sometime in 2024

I think it's weird that they don't have support for strumming. We'll know for sure if it will be available in season 1 of the mode by the end of today... but like... as a casual guitar hero player I find strumming so much easier than without it.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but the gamemode has been out for only a few days and it has gotten me back into rhythm games. I absolutely love it. Fortnite Festival, as well as LEGO Fortnite and Rocket Racing, are the craziest ideas Epic Games have ever had, and yet they're all incredibly well made and somehow fit the vibe of Fortnite extremely well. I am so obsessed with Fortnite Festival that I've been playing to grind FCs for several days straight. The game feels very satisfying, and it is *nearly* feature complete. (Missing the ability to choose specific sections to practice for FCs, and also a bug with restarting mid-song that forces you to exit to lobby and rejoin) Overall, this is currently one of the best rhythm game experiences available on any platform. I highly recommend you try it, even if you don't really play rhythm games.

Perhaps a program in which holding a button on the guitar would “hold” that button, but it won’t “use” it. You can let go, to not play the note, or strum on the guitar to “use” the held button.

I was excited for this to be revealed, but I just wish it was more interesting than another 4/5key derivative. I'm not asking for strumming or high input density, but some kind of identity of its own a-la Blitz or Amplitude, just as an example. Hell, even fuser in fortnite would have been more interesting.

so is it going to be accurate with the music notes like guitar hero? accurate as in each button press is a note or close to it?. The big bang cutscene shown some of the game play but it seemed like it was on easy and barely any notes
