I’m pretty bad at this game, I don’t think I’ve ever sunk an opponent ship (whatever). I don’t tend to run, but no one fuggin communicates in this game. I definitely was never given any sort of new player grace as is in the pirate guidelines. All this in consideration; I can only see myself playing safer seas to complete tall tales.

I think rare has a little more in store for season 10 than they let on but its i think that the main thing that needs to happen is that season 10 can NOT last more than 4 months

I'm so hype for safer seas. The worst part about this game for me has always been other players. The few 'wins' from outsmarting or beating others after my treasure never made up for the feelings of hours wasted from one loss, or god forbid the ones not even after treasure, just want to make your life miserable. I never flame in chat, but as I have a job, I don't get much playtime... And when I tried to rope my little sister in to play with me, the other players were so much worse. Like she loved fighting skeleton ships and the Meg, and finding treasure maps. She didn't want to play after dealing with Reapers who'd attack you even if you had nothing. FINALLY I can play this game again. December can't come soon enough.

I think I'll only be using this safer seas for tall tales, getting griefed by a reaper 5 while im midway through my tall tale is just awful

guild battles like arena servers but somehow tied to the hourglass battles would be cool. basically queuing a 2v2 ship battle or similar. Imagine a Deathmatch with two teams, A flagship galleon, brig and two sloops for support. Full Armada battles.

For the skull slowing you down, why not just wait and unlock the chest when at an outpost? Edit: don’t let rare convince you that safer seas didn’t just hand new players a HUGE grind. Even hitting level 40 with no emissary flags and reduced XP is rough.

When your friends all work differing schedules it can be kinda frustrating when you are an hour into a red skull raid only to be wiped off the map by some randos who didn’t put in any of the work. No more, my friends and I can pirate in peace 😊

I find it hilarious that people are getting upset about safer seas and the level cap. What does someone else being level 40 in all factions do or affect you as a player? All they will get is gold at the 30% normal rate and gold only unlocks cosmetics. Let those who want to play and enjoy a slower pace and no PVP do their thing in safer seas, just means fewer people complaining that all they wanted to do was experience the tall tails but had to restart each mission multiple times cause their ship was sunk by grifters. The fact is they are locked off from pirate lord and endgame content and with them gone from the normal server we will have all those who want PVP in one area and no more running away or chasing for hours on end.

I believe most people are overreacting on safer seas. For starters, 40 as a cap i believe is perfect. If someone is willing to grind 1-40 in safer sea 100% deserve that lv 40. Lets make a scenario. It takes 300 gold for one lv and one chest gives you 100 gold. Now without emissary it will take you 3 chest to get one lv. 2 with emissary and 1 if sold at the right time. For some one on safer seas they'll allways have to sell 10 chest to get to the next lv. Also remember it takes more every lv to get up, in turn it will take even more for someone on safer seas to get higher then someone on high seas. Second, when it comes to com agiqn if you grind to open 100 vualts then you deserve the sail that come with it. Plus most people who play the game run cosmetics are frim Athena reaper pvp based or pirate emporium. Besides one you xant get in safer seas. I believe if someone is willing to grind and just have fun it shouldn't matter if its in safer seas or not. I personally would only add one thing to safer seas and that is to Captain are own ships. Again frim com, if people are willing to grind for captain cosmetics they shouls regardless on seas. Maybe cap it at 40 there too. As for splitting the community it wont unless the community does it itself.

I think they will do reputation prestige. Rewards start in hourglass at level 100 it’s possible that they will increase the trading company reputation cap to 100 and make it a prestige system. I’d love to have a reason to grind reputation again having been maxed out on all factions for nearly 2 years

Please provide some advice on how to have a mindset to not be afraid when playing SOT. I am really trying man. But my hands get cold and I cannot enjoy the game because of the looming threat of a galley far far away.

If "Safe Seas" avoids being lame and just embraces the original SoT which was a simple set of 'moves' and excellent physics, it would be a great place to draw new players, like a training yet live instance. Once the basics are comfortable, the adventurous could join...um...well..Adventure mode. The full mode is so varied and expanded, its befuddles new players to a point of avoiding those 'adventures'. Concurring an advanced quest to get a flame-thrower skull (unbalanced weapon) is too similar to Pay for Play and the One-Hit-Rocket Launcher of other anti-noob venues

I hear a lot of people say they quit sea of thieves because of the pvp and harassment by other players. Also they could reduce the number of servers for high seas so more people can compete with less servers more will meet and with safer seas the pve fans will have no problems. I play mostly pve when I play but I sometimes do pvp.also pve players will have the option to play pvp anytime so it's still good

Why are people saying high seas will be more dead for PVP? There are only 6 boats per server so you can only interact with 5 others no matter what. How many servers there are means nothing because you only come across who is on your current one. All this does is make sure the people you do come across want to fight instead of grind skelly captains or fish.

I wonder if we will see guild wars where versing guilds can all get together and just battle it out at once

High Seas mode will become Arena mode. We know what happened to Arena mode.

Man i was chasing a kid that had skelly curse and only had only 1 captain chest 1 fcking chest he probably got the curse be some glitch because the only thing he knew to press w and right click with a sword i imagine the same kid running with the key for 2hours

I'm relatively new to Sea of Thieves and got it during a recent sale. After experiencing it, I absolutely enjoy the current High Seas mode where there's a risk of loot and pirates. However, Sea of Thieves has been lingering on my Wishlist for a few years, with previous preliminary hesitations being not too keen on the PVP aspect of the game after google searching "Does sea of thieves have a PVE server". This is due to not fully understanding that PVP in current Sea of Thieves is very minimal and the fun and thrilling part is the risk factor, more that the quantity of PVP battles happening. Safe Seas will definitely boost the amount of new players playing, and hopefully after trying safe seas, they will organically transition to High Seas in due time because it's just simply way more fun!

-Guilds might be cool if there is some sort of like WOW guild system where we can PM other guild members who are online. Might make it easier for us solo players to find a buddy to team up with in the form of a guild mate. (They probably wont do this tho) - The Skull of Siren song I can already spot a problem. If the Skull slows your ship down, wont crews just not open the chest till they are ready to hand in? There is literally no incentive to open that chest. Unless when you open the chest and take the skull out the beacons from the key and chest drop and a new one doesn't start for the skull? Im still not sure if opening it is worth it even if the tracker stops. I kind of hope the tracker stops because players could always bury the skull and come back later when the heat is gone. Id like to see some sort of world event where players have to fight over and secure ghost forts. They kind of just sit there atm being ignored apart from new players looking for easy low quality loot. Would be nice to see players fighting over these locations as the forts have defences already to drive off attackers.

I think the pve servers won’t be awful because if it brings back players, rare might start giving us good content again. I don’t get how people try to hype up season 10 4 people who don’t want play pve servers. All we get is guilds, so just more progression and no content, and a voyage that isn’t new, just old stuff put together it’s not actually content

I think the best strategy might be to drop the chest or key and let the other crew get it and catch them while they're slow

I think they're thinking December is a good time for safer C's because that's probably when your highest point of you players are jumping in a game.

I would have capped it at 30, but getting to level 40 with no emissary and 30% rate of progression is going to take a long time so I don't think it matters all that much.

Honestly, this made me roll my eyes. I don't understand the notion of "yeah, High Seas will be a lot more dead". Will it, though? Who will be playing Safer Seas mainly? People who just want to have a chill time. You all won't lose a single PvP-Player due to Safer Seas. The only people "losing" here are sweaty "iTs NoT SEa oF fRiEnDS"-guys who like to take a dump on PvE-players who aren't good (or willing, which is equally legitimate!) at fighting other players. Sea of Thieves lost a lot of its magic for me. Most of the times, when I encounter other players, they behave in a "shoot first, don't ask questions ever" sort of way. I'm here for the adventure, for creating my adventures. When I want to "git gud" and play competetive, I play CS, CoD or whatnot.

I don’t think this game is even close to dead yet, sure there are many thing they could have done better and many things they need to do. But this game still has over 1 billion players. Myself included.

If it's 30% Rep it will take longer to get to 40 I can see people getting to 25 and get frustrated and just start to use High Seas

I don’t see anything wrong with the level cap. Levels don’t really mean anything in the game, at least not when it comes to matchmaking anyway. Also, how long is it even going to take to grind to level 40 with a 30% cap and no emissaries? Sure it might take 20 hrs to get to 50 based on your scenario but it’ll take much longer to get to 40 in safer seas in the first place. Yes, on paper, someone could get to 40 in safer seas then do a bunch of FOTD to hit 50 quickly but I’m willing to bet that If someone spends all that time grinding in safer seas, they won’t even know what FOTD is…

For someone that just buys this game for the first time they are probably thankful its not packed with high experienced players.

Yeah capping the safer seas is a horrible choice, they should have just buffed the payouts on the normal seas and kept everything normal on the safe seas, otherwise it's not worth my time doing it for only 30 percent, people should be able to play it freely and fully progress

Honestly I think level 40 isn’t the worst. The grind from 40-50 is about as long as 0-30 or 0-35, and since everything is capped at 30% experience and gold it would take FOREVER to get to 40. I think most people would almost never stay in safer seas until the level 40 cap because high seas is just SO much more lucrative, especially past level 25.

The funny issue with guilds is you wont be playing with your guild members unless you get together on the same ship lol kinda stupid really.

Rare is only optimizing for the new player cuz their is also a change comming in season 10 that is under NDA still... But it will REALLY lower the skill gap and make even more old players quit.

I just wish you could host custom PvP events like LBH and TDMs in safer seas, then you could skip the hours it takes to get multiple boats

i think the safer seas would be like 10x better if they allowed you to do any voyage or event that youve already unlocked, but completely disabled money and rep earnings. i think it should be like a testing ground, where you can try voyages in a safer environment, test out methods to complete them faster, or simply relax and do some safe voyages when you just want to chill and don’t really care about earning stuff. it would also be cool if they added some debug options, so you can enable certain world events, spawn in skeleton ships, etc

It should be capped at reputation 25 and if you get a certain amount of gold then you can’t earn gold anymore so it’s just for videos and experimentation.

Real talk, I'm garbage at TDM and I'll never be as good as these sweat lords who never touch grass.. I'll never get to enjoy this pvp voyage and be compedative so I guess people like me will be leaving the game sooner than later. Clearlerly neither the player base or the developers want casual players to play anymore.

I agree, but sea of thieves is not dead. A game is only truly dead when the hardcore player base stop playing. The game is dying but it’s hard to see Sea of thieves ever completely being dead. And after witnessing the spikes of players after community week; Sea of Thieves has lots of potential for sure.

I believe that the only 2 people angry in anyway to safer seas are: 1) because the devs said no pve servers ever (the safer seas does not seem to be an offline mode which defeats the purpose imo) 2) guys who are upset that they cant just invalidate the purchase of the game. Lets be real here, anybody moving to safer sea are also the ones beforehand uninstalling the game and scaremongering people to not play sea of thieves causing the community to be way more toxic and smaller that it should have been. If they no longer think they are getting scammed then sea of theives will look more enticing overall.

You are just in a burnout state with the game, IMO. It's ok to fell tired because you feel the game is in a boring state, and I saw that also in your videos. If you like the game and pvp in general, the siren skull is a good thing for you, and also pve servers, because now a lot of casuals will just go there, and only decent players who love pvp will stay in high seas, so that's a win for everyone. If pvp people are still complaining about safer seas, it's just because now it will be harder to steal stuff and they are scared of sinking on stream. That's it.
