Hey there, guys! Here I am with the full version of my FNAF movie review (already uploaded as a short). After someone in the comments of the latest poll suggested me to make a long video and recut is as a short, I decided to proceed this way. So, @Suspicious-Cat, thanks a lot for the idea! ;)
This is obviously my very own opinion, and I'd love to hear your thoughts about the movie! Let me know down here, please.

Might've been better. I did hear that the team, including Scott, has heard our feedback. Hopefully, this means we'll get a way better movie for a sequel with a better plot, as well as better scares.

I don't get why critics tore this movie apart! Sure, it's not the scariest, most well put together movie, but it's not bad at all. It represents over nine years of something that started small, and became more special over time. Scott Cawthon didn't have a penny to his name when he made the first FNAF game, but he made something that everyone loved. Whenever we though it was going to end, he added something new that kept the fandom alive and growing! We took him and his creations for granted, and pushed him away at one point, never fully appreciating what Scott and his games did for us. This movie should be seen as a tribute to Scott and all FNAF has done for us. It's not perfect, but it's something for all FNAF fans to have. Thank you Scott Cawthon for creating FNAF, and thank you Tony Crynight for being part of the fandom!

@@breydenchurch4023 yeah I mean it wasn't awful, but the plot is whonkers, none of the plot points gets resolved. Sorry if it's gonna be a bit long Like once Mike finds out about William he seems to not care anymore about knowing his brother kidnapping, you would except him when confronting William to ask him why he did that, or heck you would expect William, being the narcisistic son of a bitch he is to straight up tell him "wanna know why I killed your brother?" Or why did William sent Mike in the pizzeria, the only place where he could have find out some clues Or why did Vanessa defended so much her father They should have explored William's story a bit more, on how and why he did it. And also a bit more about the children Then the horror, I didn't expect gore, but what I loved about the games was the tension, barely seeing them from dead angles of the camera, watching you, knowing that it would be over in seconds if they get to you My favourite scene is when the gang attack those burglars, you can feel the tension of being followed without a way to run

I agree with you in that I thought it was an enjoyable mess. Just somwhat okay. Scare wise or story wise, it can be pretty terrible. It's not even a little scary. However, it's so enjoyable, funny, and bonkers in terms of tone and plot, it thankfully saved itself from being completely bad. 😅 And yes, the Jim Henson robots are impressive.

I really enjoyed it as a hardcore FNAF fan-And like you said it is a very fun movie. I do agree with the ending though, I feel like it is a bit rushed and feel like some foreshadowing with Matthew Lillard’s character could have been benefited and a certain plot twist kinda came out of nowhere…Other than that, it was a blast! Also it was really neat to see you recreate some of the scenes in your style!

certainly, the writing could have been better. But honestly the fact that this movie exists at all is all i ever wanted. I walked into the theatre with my friends without unrealistic expectations, and it still blew me away that i ever even saw it in the first place. for what it’s worth, i think it’s a good watch and definitely fun i also really enjoyed seeing the animatronics act like actual children-it reminded me that these are kids possessing them and not mature adults, so i adored the fort scene :D

I agree, Tony! As a filmmaker, and a fan of the games. I was suprised at the overwhelming praise the movie got. I thought it would upset people. Hopefully Scott can take into account both opinions when re-writing the sequel script.

i agree specially in the rushing part, i can describe it as a roller coaster that begins great, goes on a straight line but in the end spins unnecesarilly and you end dizzy. i really hope that they release a director´s cut, having all of the discarded stuff inside the movie. but as a fan from 2015, it fulled my expectations! :3 AMAZING ART AS ALWAYS MR CRYNIGHT!!!

I 100% agree with you! It was an amazing gift for the loose-core fans! (I say loose-core because the hard-core fans wanted the movie to be like the games/books and were disappointed because it wasn't how they imagined) As an og Fnaf fan who adores easter eggs, I loved this film. Could it have been better? Of course. There are some things in the film that I wish they could've done better or thought they left out. But overall I give the film a solid 8/10. I really wish it was scarier and worked more with the original uneasiness of the first game rather than relying on jumpscares. But hopefully everything people are complaining about will be fixed with the second film. Just like Scott's way of making games; if people don't like something in the game, fix it with another one! I can see him doing that with the films. Hopefully once all the films are complete, going back to this one and rewatching it would help it make a lot more sense.

I think the movie was great, besides the insane amount of events overlapping each other all at the same time and scenes that's ambiguity leaves the audience, even fans who know a good amount about the game, to speculate, meaning the initial plot and storyline can go several different ways, depending on the opinion of who you're speaking with. I think this can be expected because...well, its FNAF, but it does leave people not as educated in the lore of the game in the dark and thus, a bit confused. Overall, the acting was amazing, the sets were amazing, good amount of action and scares, the only thing else I have to add about the animatronics is they move a little to smoothly and humanly for me to fully view them as robots - when you see an animatronic at Chuck E. Cheezes moving, its got this authentic jerking and pivoting, and even some audible mechanical whirring, clearly hinting that its an animatronic. This area is a bit lacking in the movie, but besides that, the animatronics were amazing, the puppeteers were amazing, this movie was overall a masterpiece with just a few things to think about!

Thank you for discussing your ideas on the movie! As a kid and still to this day I love your animations and you were a large part of my experience of being a FNAF fan. I would personally have given this movie a 7/10. It was very well thought out in the perspective of a FNAF fan. I think all of the Easter eggs and the accuracy was executed amazingly. The movies plot overall was a bit shaky. Like you said the movie felt a bit rushed and like they crammed it all in at the end. The actors were fairly good and I appreciated the childlike scenes that were reminiscent how I felt as a kid growing up with FNAF. I think from the horror aspect it could have been a bit more scary but I understand why they did not do that. The audience of FNAF is widely know to be kids. Also the game really isn’t that scary in the first place it is a jumpscare game after all. I think the implied gore was the best way they could have gone about it and im glad they did. Overall I think a few changes could have been made but it was a good movie and experience.

Completely fair. The FNaF movie flat out couldn’t be the best film of 2023 from the fact that Oppenheimer and Godzilla Minus One came out the same year.

5:11 The truth is, I was also expecting a little more terror, I thought there was going to be some jump of terror from some animatronic apart from Carl (The Cupcake), they would have written the script more fluidly, like showing how the children 💀 or how the children adapted to their new bodies

I've been a big FNAF fan since 2015, around the same time after FNAF 4 released, and before the announcement of sister location, I will say I was fairly disappointed with this movie, because of its plot, apparently focusing on the books, rather than the games!

Agreed! I kind of wish I could enjoy it without thinking about the flaws, but I can't, I'm both a huge fnaf fan and a huge storytelling fan. Additionally, I think the best storyline in FNAF is the original one. From a storytelling perspective, I think it wouldve been better if they followed the lore that much of the fandom knows. I was kind of like 🤨 when Vanessa was revealed to be william's daughter. And when Mike was not William's son. I would've started it focusing on the afton family we know of generally, and started it in fredbears. Imagine the cinema script potential of a story of henry and william's buildup and then the bite resulting in the murders-- we'd see scenes from the pixel art minigames on the big screen. A lot of missed potential honestly, I love scott but I think he might've had too much of a say in the movie when it came to the storytelling elements. He knows how to tell a story in games but even then, people study for years and years to become adept at cinema storytelling. I think the best script would come from a great scriptwriter working with mattpatt/dawko(faces of the community) and scott to create a cohesive story that brings new people in for the same reason we were brought in.

This is perfect for a first movie of course its not gonna be perfect this is scott cawthons first movie which did go though to many redos to say the least but it brought the books games and some new lore with it and just like the books set up its own story to be diffent then both it had good atmosphere and some amazing acting in it i give it an 8/10 Wait i just realized your the one that made that fnaf movie animaton from a few years back with foxy and mangle i forgot you did that

It’s about the same quality as F13th Final Chapter; very light on the writing aspect with wonky dialogue but it delivers what the fans want and the acting isn’t half bad.

When I saw the movie it was alright lots of people were being silly in the movie and talking but it was good but what I thought they do is that if like one of the actors in that movie were in a very dark room and Freddy did his theme when power goes out like that would have been cool and be scary as well then does the first fnaf jumpscare scream but his theme didn’t show in the movie but I was like oh well you can’t always get what you want in a movie but at least foxy did the first fnaf jumpscare scream so it was good on my opinion but I want to watch it again but when it comes on dvd not going though another movie where people are talking and being silly and that I had to tell them off for it they did not like how I told them off they felt scared from me

for me as a horror fan, its an average thriller film, but as a fnaf fan, I think its awesome to have it as a movie in my opinion, not much as a cinema masterpiece, but its something for the fans to watch and to enjoy, just like the mario movie was for.
