I apologize that the video is blurry for the first 2 minutes and 42 seconds!
Today, April 22, 2013 is my first day on 18mg of Concerta. I took it at noon today and by 5pm my stomach felt uneasy, apart from that I did not notice any changes for the better in my ability to concentrate.
Thanks to ginsengchris for his videos, they gave me the idea to start filming my journey.
I would love to hear from others as to how they are dealing with ADHD in their lives as students or otherwise and other people who take Concerta. Message here or tweet @zar_bar.
Thank you :).

I'm 41 and finally came to terms after 25 years of procrastination. Today was my first dosage and I did feel the regret, scatterbrain, sense of underachievement all day. I feel like a new me. Yippie. It was a tad nauseating but nothing crazy.

So far so good. I feel like I have a new lease on life. Everything I do just seems to done better and without anxiety. My anger also has seemed to have gone down dramatically. I want to go back and go after the things in life I wanted to do but was too afraid to mess up if I did.

Thank you very much for these videos. I am 31 and was just diagnosed with ADHD yesterday. Today is my 1st day on Concerta. I watched your video and was shocked as to how similar our stories were. I hope this is working for you and I pray it works soon for me. Thanks again

Hi there! I did not go through the testing and diagnosis until my 4th year of university. I didn't understand ADHD well enough to think it was something that would apply to me until I started looking into it this year. I wish I had the diagnosis much earlier in life but, everything happens for a reason. I'm glad to hear concerta is working for you, I hope it continues to work!!

Hi JediGTI, congratulations! It's great to hear you took that step of acknowledgement and action, and I really hope it does work for you. If you can live a better life now because of this, you won't regret it. All the best.

I sometimes do 16mg concerta, my focus is much better and do not find myself so easily distracted. My son does 27mg and it really helps his focus, but he has a hard time eating. No aggression problems. Thanks for the video. Nice to hear others with same problem.

To start off, I have had "ADD" since I was in 2nd grade. I only say this because I clearly remember not functioning in school around that period. In which may attribute to a loss of interest or "fading" off during class. Going to "Special Ed" classes and being force educated was not fun. And being punished for not accepting the education was even worse. I slid through school with failing grades until my senior year in which I did not graduate. I was a genius with things that I was interested in but clearly not things out of my my realm of interest. It's not until I started working full time that ADD started to effect my financial stability and living situations. For the life of me, I could not focus on anything during a job. I would completely "fade" off. I lost some great high paying jobs over this. During college I was consistently "fading out" and had no idea what was going on during classes. I had pretty much just given up. It was very frustrating and I knew it was time to try the medications that I always declined to take. I first started on 36MG Concerta when I was 19 and decided to stop taking it after a couple months because I didn't like the feeling of not eating and the rapid heartbeat. During that period of time, my employer asked me why I was so productive at work and I had mentioned Concerta. It had been working for me. After the little conversation with my boss, she went and got a prescription for Concerta and she loved it apparently. Fast forward 12 years later, I decided to take it again to help focus and retain interest in things. To my surprise, it doesn't affect me like it once did. I am atleast 60LBS heavier and my body seems to metabolize things differently. I'm on day 2 and I took two doses of 27MG and now it seems to have the same affect that it did back then. I did try Ritalin but that was a terrible feeling with a crash where I would just about pass out. Ritalin only lasts a couple of hours or maybe less. I definitely did not want to be passing out at work. I am not working at this time so I spend a lot of time at the computer. While taking this, I have a very restless and consistently thinking mind that in some cases, is uncomfortable. While I am indulged to one activity, I have a problem switching to something else because I am so focused. Excercise seems to cure some of the adverse side effects. Maybe after a week of Concerta things will change, I hope. My mind races up and down from a feeling of enjoyment to being uncomfortable. I had to force feed myself twice. Food just does not look appetizing. However, I have no interest in drinking alcohol which is very surprising. Overall, if you decide or are about to start taking this, I would suggest eating first. And try to eat your regular dinner or lunch. Otherwise you'll feel tired and weak like you just crashed off a pot of coffee.

Hi there! Glad to got your diagnosis, the testing is exhausting but at least it have you an answer in the end.y advice with medication is to start low and keep notes as you go. Also try them in 2 or 4 week stints so that you're not locked into one medicine. The right medicine is different for everyone and it may take some time to get the right one but hopefully you'll find one.

Hi Zareen! I'm in week 2 now. I think it might be working, or it might just be my motivation that's driving me to succeed... Starting with exams on Wednesday, so I hope it works. I don't feel so weird anymore. Use to feel sick and irritated constantly, but I'm better now. In the evenings I still feel very irritated...like now! I hope this passes. How has Adderall been working for you?

Hi Liam, it's such a shame you've had it since such a young age, I hope that it hasn't stopped you from being the best person you can be. The medication really sucks, I know, so try and get help from friends, teachers and other people who can help you build good practices and reduce your dependence on medicine. You can do it!
