I am a lifeguard and one of my regulars is a 3yo girl who is so adorable. She swims better than most of the 7 year olds and she’s also tough. Example, she went to jump into the pool, but her bottom half hit the gutter and she was not phased, then she belly flopped into 1.5 ft of water

There was a time when a waterslide dropped me in a slightly deep area. And I couldn't touch the bottom at the time. I couldn't starfish cause another person coming down the slide could hit me. So I just zoomed to the side. Thank you to my parents for paying for swimming lessons for me! And your daughter already is a great swimmer!!

I started taking swimming lessons when I was 18 but then I stopped and recently just taking lessons again, one day I was at the pool and there was this little girl probably around 3yo and oh my she was like flying in the water, it’s obvious she could control herself so well in the water she was like a baby mermaid, I envy her haha, her parents did great job.

I started those lessons at 6 months old. I could swim before I could walk. I'll tell you what. It matters who is doing the lesson. But it's very important. At first I couldn't understand and I thought the lessons were a bit abusive. Then I realized how important they were. Everyone it was explaining. You won't be able to catch your breath. When you are in danger, you have to give it that extra relaxation or kick. I learned how to walk off the diving board. So grateful for those lessons. I used to really freak out lifeguards. Cuz I could dive down to 12 ft and lay on the bottom and watch people. Loved it. I would just decompress and stay under.
