I know this focused on single issues, but one of my favorite spidey stories nobody talks about was a six issue arc of Spectacular Spider-Man called "The Child Within" (it was actually not too long after that doc ock christmas issue) . Besides Kraven's Last Hunt, it's my favorite storyline featuring Vermin, and all of the issues are essentially dollar bin finds.

I take "Favourite Spidey Comics" videos over "Top Spidey Comics" any day, so I really appreciate you doing this ! Thank you ASM issues *25 and 43* are the 2 spidey issues I've had the most fun reading. ASM issue *259* (Mary Jane's backstory) is one of the most relatable issue for me. I also deeply love "Hunger" and "Countdown" by *Paul Jenkins*

I really appreciate this type of video and make sure I watch them whenever you put them out. No one on earth has the time or energy to ready every comic out there, there is just simply too much content. The info really helps people find some diamonds in the rough among filler issues, annuals, and offshoot titles. When you did the Batman one, I went out and picked up Batman Black and White 4, and I’m sure I’ll get something off of this list too.

My favourite Spider Man story is in Amazing 233-236. The original Tarantula takes a spider serum and mutates over time into a giant spider (like Jeff Goldblum in The Fly though it predated that movie by 3 years). It's got a really tragic ending which shocked me as an 11-year old.

I have 5 of those issues: SSM 40, Web of SpM 6, Tangled Web 4, SSM 173, ASM Annual 28. That Tangled Web issue is excellent. Bought it back in '07 maybe after seeing it on a must-read list. It more than lived up to the hype. Two of my favorite lesser-known Spider-Man stories (though one might be a little more known) involve the Kingpin, oddly. One is Amazing Spider-Man 274 in which Mephisto and the Beyonder make a wager on whether Spider-Man would save Kingpin from an assassin or renounce his sense of responsibility. The second one came three months later in Amazing Spider-Man 277, which has a deceptive cover because it pertains to the odd back-up story. The events in the issue take place right in the middle of the Flash Thompson-Hobgoblin saga, but it also crosses over with the "Born Again" story line in Daredevil. After meeting with a defeated Matt Murdock, Spider-Man goes to confront the Kingpin in his office, and the entire confrontation is a conversation in which Fisk explains to Spider-Man how much his criminal network benefits from the Web-Slinger's heroics. It's a fascinating four pages that are beautifully drawn and choreographed with Fisk subtly trying to put himself in a position to physically fight back if needed and being thwarted each time, but in the end really hurting Spider-Man the most with his words.

A really good Spidey tale you can get your hands on from eBay is not a Spider comic. It's ok web head and the mysterious dream drifter of the marvel universe. Kingpin and some goons make a last ditch effort to finally unmasking our friendly neighborhood wall crawler. Before nightmares become reality the wet dreams of a teenage boy bring a dream catcher into the mix. Sleepwalker 5 and 6 are two tales with old school Busema era art. A story that will leave your Spidey senses tingling with it's excilerating climax.

My favorite random Spider-Man story is the team-up with Captain Marvel in Avenging Spider-Man. I love the weird flirty tension between the two. Always thought it was a bummer that they never did anything with that. The villain is terrible and the story is just fine, but the character interactions are great.

Sometimes "bad" comics have beautiful moments or solid character aspects. And yes they would work together well

The story of the spectacular Spider-Man #173 sounds really good and emotional just one problem. The artist for the issue Sal buscema is a shit artist. I can’t understand why marvel allowed him to draw Spider-Man for so long every character he draws look like old retired people which makes the characters who are actually old look even horrendous. I’m sorry but aunt May looks dreadful in this story and every other time he’s drawn her. Again I’m sure the story is really good but man oh man could they have had a better artist for the issue?

I classify the years of 1993 to 2007 to be “the dark age of Spider-Man” reason and I’m talking strictly about the main 616 Spider-Man comics. This was a period where Spider-Man had bad story after bad story after bad story. And the clone saga was during this period and judging from the history of the clone saga I think the people at marvel just didn’t care about Spider-Man like at all. I can’t understand why writers who don’t care get hired and get attention yet writers who do care get no attention it makes me sick.

@@jakeproven256 I agree to disagree. This time period gave us Scarlett Spider and the animated version of Spiderman. We also saw some of the most colorful team ups like Namor and Silver Surfer! Plus the symbiot saga was kickin. Plus Stan Lee was still stickin around on the walls of Marvel. Sorry but I thought it was an awesome time for Spider and Marvel
