Here is my Top 10 Modifications that I've done to my Arrma Vorteks that you may find useful.
These modifications are items that I had changed to make my Vorteks more reliable, stronger, and more fun to use.

I agree I need to go to 17mm Hex, so I can get more common size wheels and tires. plus my Typhon 3S wheel collection can be shared in the fun.

Nice informational video! I can say that the center drive shaft bearing makes a huge difference on vibrations and wobbling on high speeds. It comes with the longer wheelbase cars like you mentioned the senton 3s and typhon 3s, except if it's a mega.

I suggest spending the $18 on Center Drive Shaft, IF playing in sand, small gravel. $6 more than the plastic 1, and last MUCH longer.

I used a piece of $3 1/4” round aluminum stock and two M3 screws with nylon nuts to create a center brace.

Picked up the Vorteks in green/blue for $329 and then went online .. ordered🤑 more in parts then i paid for the truck😱🙄 Carbon fiber brace and links, aluminum suspension, servo, gears, shocks, fans, lights, braces, cases etc❤😅

Do yourself a favor, don't get carried away. every RC needs weak points, the added stress just moves somewhere else, so choose your battles wisely. Think metal gears 100%, but I heavily suggest keeping chassis related components to composite man. Think in terms of cost of repair imo.

I love your videos man! I got a vorteks also. I upgraded to the proline shocks. Just in case anyone is wondering, they don’t fit well, I had to put spacers at the bottom of each shock because it hits the a-arm pretty bad when you screw them in tight and it flexes the springs

@@watsnu2day did you have to do any modifications to the motor mount to fit the motor? I was wondering if you think the 4274 hobbywing motor will fit. It’s from the max8 esc and motor combo

Not sure on the hobbywing. The Mojave motor fit on fine.

I've purchased 2 vorteks, so far replaced both shocks front and rear, both servos junk otb, both on new controllers and 1 replaced esc. Put bigger red aluminum shocks on it and no problem so far. I do like the typhon arm upgrade and may have to try it with the hub upgrade next.

I changed my esc too. I put some GRPs on it and I speed run it on 6s and got it to 89 mph on a 20t pinion b4 it wheelies. It’s not that aerodynamic so I’ll be adding a outcast wing to the front to act as a splitter. The downforce will keep it down.

It's just the stock.senton 3s bumper.so its.on the arrma website or perhaps eBay, Jenny's rc parts, etc. I don't have it off hand, sorry

My Vorteks is around $800 now. Base is affordable, but so very boring😂 I can't leave anything alone so I spend a ton on unnecessary parts. Love my new green/blue custom Vorteks along with my Mojave Heavy Metal stadium and Losi Baja Rey desert truck❤

On the big bore shocks what kind of weight oil did u use? I got some too..I put some 35W..

Hey Bro been watching your videos and they are very informative and useful. Just a questions. When you replaced the vorteks bumoer with the Senton bumper did you also switch to a Senton Front skid or just used the stock Vorteks one? Cheers! Keep up the great work!

@@watsnu2day so I tried this bumper upgrade on my vorteks. It does not directly fit. In your video where the bumper hinges to the skid plate, the hinge sticks out more and at a slightly different angle than that of the vorteks. I think I can chenge out the skid plate to make it work as the one in your video looks like the Senton, not the vorteks.

I know your video is kinda old but I'm really diggin all these upgrades. Literally just got my vorteks and I'd like to address the bumper situation. Do I need to purchase the senton front chassis plate as well? Or does it just bolt right up to the vorteks front plate?

Love your rig! I was wondering,did you have to change drive shafts as well when you added the typhon links and A arms? Also, do you have a link to those Links? They are awesome!

When / if needed try out RPM suspension arms when needed $24 all around. If content with Factory, get complete stock set f/r off jennysrc for $18

Great job on the truck! I was wondering....the Senton front bumper, was it a direct bolt on to the Vorteks? Or did you have to modify it?

It was a direct bolt on. I put the aenton front bumper on my 3s typhon as well.

Yup almost all 3S arrma stuff is backwards compatible on other 3S line. Guys live and love jennysrc awesome prices and all stock parts!

Look at the Dynamite tool set, they sell it separately if you want $18, or get the entire RC kit for $79

Can u do a video on how u instal the center driveshaft high speed support because I order one to put one in..so I have to drill a hole to install it?

no drilling required. There is a slot already on the chassis to slide the support on. You need to take the center driveshaft out first, then put the center brace on, then slide the driveshaft with the bearing into place after. easy...

Go with Hot Racing aluminum version for $18, like $6 more, but SO worth it.

Best place for prices is by EBay. I reckon it’ll be cheaper than I got it because I live in Hawaii and have to pay for shipping. However, if you can, I always suggest you buy it at your local hobby shop. You’ll support small business and your community and you can start forging a relationship with workers there if you ever have questions and problems. Good luck. For Arrma stock parts, I look on JennyRC which are takeoffs and resold. You save on cost vs brand new.

Anyone find it odd, that the Traxxas Rustler come with NOT even 1 fan, and is a huge seller for Traxxas. Then all us Arrma guys wanna run 1st thing, and upgrade our 2 fans right off?! Found it odd, I feel we honestly jump the gun, so quick. Make a $370 RC a $600 RC so quick.

these shocks are not the same dimensions as stalk ones, the rears are to short and the front too long,
