As I said in the video 10 disappointing action figures throughout all of 2023 isn’t really that bad. Quite honestly I feel like this is a major win considering all of the releases that we got this year. That being said, I feel like these figures definitely need to be called out for how bad they were. Some of them were just unbelievable and I still can’t believe I had them in my collection to begin with. Most of the time I know exactly what I am getting into whenever I decide to make a purchase, but I will admit that some of the disappointing factors with these releases really caught me by surprise. I was disappointed in how the SH Figuarts Guts figure came out. I hope that Bandai fixes this figure for the future.

Knowing Bandai, I wouldn't hold my breath. Having said that. They might release an alternate version live the full armored one and be "re-engineered" but I highly doubt it too.

Really loved and enjoyed your take on the disappointing figures that came out this year. I can agree with a lot of what you said and for even figures I didn’t even purchase. I collect figures too and wanted to start trying to do what you do cuz I love anime and figures. I haven’t even opened my Nanami Figma yet, he’s a favorite but boy did I not know about some of his problems like the hunched back and all. I’m still going to take him out eventually to look at and I still will probably keep him to complete the collection of the JJK Figma. Can’t wait for your Favorites list!

Solid list and all the point are valid especially the ones I have that are included. I have to begrudgingly appreciate them. Going forward I’m gonna need to be cautious before preordering with SHF.

The sh figuarts Andrew proportions are spot on you guys have to take a look at pictures from no way home. I’ll give you the fist hands though that sucks ! The neck and lower back gaps do suck too but proportion wise it’s spot on! Hot take

I preordered the Threezero Nanami. I don't even collect 1/6 but I need a good representation of the GOAT in my collection. TBH my Figma isn't as bad as yours. The legs stay on reasonably well and they aren't floppy. But the joints and posture issues are very much on point. PLEASE SH Figuarts, bring out a good 1/12 of the man!

As someone who just became a One Piece fan this year and fell in love with the characters, Zoro and Luffy (although Luffy is still good) being as disappointing as they are is a real heartbreaker. Now that they're tackling some looks from the East Blue saga, I'm hoping they make the necessary improvements and give us much better versions of the Straw Hat crew

So happy you acknowledged SS Trunks. You’re so right about his arm 😂 Literally refuses to stay on!! I’ve bought 3 lol! Same issue every time. Absolutely stinks if you do stop motion! Lastly that sword strap peg had the same issue, I seriously don’t understand how this was approved. All valid complaints and criticism! Who doesn’t want a trunks figure? It’s badass but man do those things just kill it for me, especially given the price point…

I agree with your lists. The ones I expected to be on here is SHF One Piece line, Guts and Keaton Batman. I didn't expect Jujutsu Kaisen figure but I do see your point for Sukuna (this list is after all disappointing figures for you, not worst) and I didn't even remember this Figma Nanami exists lol I just heard reviews which said it's not good. The one I didn't see coming is MAFEX Batman. It looks nice overall but I know the thigh joints are awful looking when bent, like two hanging ba- I digress. 😂

Trunks took a lot of work for me to get it into a state that was good. My first figure had deep scratches in the hair sculpt - so right off the get go I had to get a replacement. My second figure had a lot of work done to fix the issues. The hip joints sit loosely in the upper leg - Tamashii probably thought friction would hold them in place - but no, so I had to cement those in place - which removed the leg wobble completely. The ankle joints were super loose, so some polish was used to tighten them up. The sword sheath strap constantly unplugged from the bottom peg - so I permanently attached both sides with some gel super glue. The left arm would pop off at the bicep joint constantly - I ended up getting a replacement arm off eBay that was A LOT tighter - so it doesn't pop off nearly as easily. Having done all of that, it turned it into a decent figure. It's also a lot I SHOULD NOT have had to do.

I've always seen Figma Nanami in a weird light ever since I saw him, but i should've known he was going to make number 1. I knew he'd be here tho. I can agree with this list, but sheesh Tamashii has been hit or miss this year.

Hopefully the East Blue Zoro will redeem Tamashii. As for Nanami, it sucks this will probably be the only figure of his we'll get. As for Guts, I really wanna pose him, but I really don't want him to crumble. Lol.

Fortunately, One Piece line looks great now, Sanji is awesome and Yamato looks great in the promotional videos. Hope they improve Luffy and Zoro in the future. I have just started S.H. figuarts lines, someone could help to find appropiate and cheap figure bases? Many thanks in advance.

Everybody who said the Guts arm thing is based off the art was tripping. You're completely right and it's a flaw. He would be my number 1 most disappointing of the year. I was so lit for him smh. And the feet are crazy. But design issues all around and promo photos being COMPLETELY DIFFERENT figures from what you get are the exact reasons I can't stand figuarts. When you get a figma, or at least what I do, I feel what I see in promo is what I get. I don't own any with useless accessories. They just don't seem to do the customers as dirty as Bandai is willing to. I think it comes from Bandai's model kit and "Walmart toy" roots. When it comes to promo/ box art being a pipe dream and $20 engineering. They've allowed those habits over into their $60-$120 lines and I don't think it's acceptable.

I was wondering what was so bad about No. 1, he looked pretty average, but once you brought up his legs it made all of the sense in the world. Is the Figma Genos situation all over again. Also, that arm gap is pretty bad, it wasn't apparent at the beginning, but once you moved it around, oh boi.

Same, though unlike Genos where he becomes a pretty awesome figure once you glue the right legs in (and lets be real who would pose him with the static sitting legs anyway), glueing that small peg design for Nanami would limit the articulation even more and lock you out of a more interesting part swap than Genos' shitty static legs.

I think the most disappointing thing is sh figuarts or figma not making probably one of the main villains of season 1 and a main villain in season 2 of jujutsu kaisen we all should know who it is but it’s Mahito Edit: We also need the goat Nanami from sh figuarts

But those arms are another problem.. With the skirt they should've either gone soft goods which was very unlikely or have the skirt be the same material as yor's dress since that figure can atleast move her legs unlike zoro.

Not on your list… but the figma Doom Slayer was pretty much buyer’s remorse setting in as months went on. Initially happy with it, the reality hits when you get a better product. My unit ended up having his right hip being loose after all. I didn’t know how to check it but one finger is all it took: instead of keeping its right leg up to the side like the left one, it went back down… and that’s excluding the ankle of that same foot being somehow more restricted. The figma Doom Slayer is overdesigned in the worst way possible despite being fine aesthetics but even the sculpt is ruined if one were to properly check how misaligned the back is when the front is set correctly. Even the weapons lack in details except for the Crucible Sword… and I LOVE Doom… It was my first figma and would have been my last if it wasn’t for the figma Dread Samus… which ended up being the better product and possibly Max Factory’s magnum opus when put next to almost every release from them this year.

As someone who jumped into imports, I tested the best work and disappointment of Figma. I was really interested in the Doom Slayer, having it on preorder on July 2021. Initials pictures were promising including the in-hand prototype but I fear this one just couldn’t be done justice. Reports of breakage, loose hips for some. But the proportions are wonky, the paint job is mostly inaccurate and the hands can barely hold the guns. In fact the hands are so tiny that he can’t really hold the weight of the BFG yet he’s the strongest human in gaming history. I still like it, but all the gaps to hide during posing make this figure a real mess. Call it tough love because I love the game and the character. The Dread Samus, by comparison, is a masterpiece next to your number one disappointment or the Doom Slayer. And that is not a subjective thing to say.

Guts is easily my favourite character, so obviously i had to get his figure. And visually hes an absolutely stunning figure, arms yes they are a bit long. But they really mucked up with the hands, for me I literally can't put any other hands on without them flopping off. And the sword, its hilarious because its meant to be the "Dragon Slayer!" but its too big ane heavy. Ironic. Way to disproportionate and too heavy combined with the super weak wrists. I love guts, and i do like this figure. But to anyone who isnt as passionate about guts its a no brainer. ESPECIALLY at his price.

If this video were to be accurate number 1 would easily be the Hasbro Tobey Maguire Spider-Man because the paint, articulation and sculpt sucks and to think Hasbro failed in two most important parts of any Spider-Man which is making the head accurate and PAINTING! The darn WEBS!

My personal most dissapointing is one most people give A LOT of free pases, the Nezuko Demon has horrendous neck articulation, the head falls, the hair has worse move than Figma Nezuko who's not even a great figure, the legs don't do justice to a character who kicks, two of the face plates are worse than bootleg looking and for the price compared to other Buzzmods she isn't enough.
