Honestly the fact that hasbro still has the molds for the 12inch line makes me more upset we didn’t get a Goliath, or a Clint Barton Goliath, or a Bill Foster Goliath using the 12inch Spider-Man figure

Luke Cage was definitely my most disappointing Marvel Legend of 2023. Hasbro should have gone all out as this version of Cage was the epitome of a fan demanded character. This figure never should have been allowed to go into production as is.

When it comes to Marvel Legends Magneto’s all we can say is, “ look how they massacred my boy😢”

Great list, to me, the worst Legends figure has to be Tobey Maguire's Spidey. As a massive Raimi Spider-Man fan , I can't stress enough how disappointing Tobey is. What upsets me is not the not-so-great articulation scheme he has like the giant ball for the double ball peg of the neck and inverted ab crunch & diaphragm combo(I still could have accepted those given that's pretty much the standard articulation of Legends these days), it's the fact that they seemed to ruin the figure on purpose- they added texture to his suit, yet the wrong type(shows that they have the capability of adding minute details yet messed up), they made his feet huge and hands puny, gave him child bearing hips and brought down the shoulders lower than the digital renders shown off last year, the back spider logo having extra limbs sculpted on the lower torso and finally- fumbled the colors on his suit completely-people often get hurt and say "but but get the shf one if you're so picky Hasbro hater" what they don't get is it takes zero extra cost to get these improvements at $33 bucks(taking the set as a whole).. heck $25 as well. Even with that poor articulation, Tobey would have easily ben much better.

For me the big disappointment was Emma Frost....why can't we get a good Emma man it sucks.....the closest we got was the Hellfire pack and I missed out on that.....well....I live in Canada so to get It here would've cost me a fortune....but that version or the astonishing version would be great....with good proportions and good articulation and cloth goods are just a must for the White Queen would it kill Hasbro to do it right?.....'Hell to get a good Emma I'd even accept a deluxe as long as the cloth goods and extra hands and maybe a head sculpt or two but come on no more exclusives no more half assed attempts at a good figure just get 'er done.....great list Manny I love the positive energy even on a most disappointing vid......keep it up in 2024 man

Definitely the comic Bruce Banner. I’ve been a huge Hulk fan since the animated series and he should’ve came with a mid transformation head sculpt or ripped clothes, or lab equipment . Also , he was kind of difficult to stand and had pins.

These are the figures that broke Hasbro. I hope whoever had the bright idea of implementing these cost cutting measures to meet their bottom line is no longer with the company

Thanks for your efforts on this video XManny. No one can really argue over the products you have on your list. We are similar in a sense we believe ML went "Quantity over Quality" in 2023. With that much quantity at the risk of quality it was obvious ML would disappoint a lot of collectors. The products on your list did just that for me as well. ML's work on Luke Cage is embarrassing.

I feel like The 3 Mouseketeers really need to get a grip on basic business practices when it comes to pricing.

For me it was Ch’od. I love the Starjammers and based on reviews was disappointed in the lack of effort put into this figure. With the exception of Corsair I also hated the wave he came in and in general I hate how BAFs are issued. A bunch of figures I don’t want to get one I do. I wish they would release BAF waves where the characters are related in some way to the actual BAF. So a Starjammers wave would have been nice and I would have bought all of them. Say if they released Raza, Hepzibah, Lilandra, D’Ken, Starjammers Havok and Polaris, along with Corsair. That would have been a killer wave that I would have thrown down money for.

I think the ps5 miles shouldve just had a more vibrant red like in the game also i need more video game figures with unique sculpts they gave the avengers game like 2 waves with 2 build a figures (( half comic / video game)) how does the shitty game get figures when the better ones dont?

Great list, I appreciate focusing on 'disappointing' rather than the worst, makes for much more interesting observations. This year I've cut back drastically when it comes to collecting mainly due to budget, Black Series I picked up very few figures, Classified Series I stopped collecting altogether, but also the Marvel Legends line just didn't have as many interesting releases to me. Granted last year I picked up loads since it was more my tastes with the Spider-Man releases, Daredevil and more general Marvel icons like Doctor Strange, but this year with the more Avengers focused releases I'm just not as connected to comic Avengers as I am other areas of the universe. Even then the reuse and overall quality I just didn't feel was worth as much as it was in a lot of instances. I found the new Vision at my local comic shop yesterday, I'd planned to pick it up since he's one of the last main Avengers I feel I need, but the longer I looked at it the more I noticed places where the painted yellow transition to yellow plastic just looked ugly, the paint in general was sloppy in a lot of places on the ones they had and I ended up getting something else. I suppose for disappointing I did pick up the Spider-Punk but ended up giving it to someone else, for me his chaotic design just didn't translate too well into plastic for me. I like the new Magneto but I can see why others don't. For me the new head did enough to outdo the prior ugly 3-pack version, and I do have him posed on the shelf so the long arms I didn't even notice. Plus whilst the 90's costume is engrained in my brain I didn't read those comics growing up, so for me personally I don't mind him being less bulky, but I can appreciate that it's still not accurate.

I could see us getting the classic Random as a Build-A-Figure down the line, possibly on the Caliban body.

I got Ronan for standard legends price on Amazon Prime Days sale. I'm happy with it. I know Super Adaptoid is accurate but I hate the crazy amount of green. I prefer bald Luke Cage. Emma was ok. Needed a soft goods cloak. I liked Random. He has less ass than Hank Hill, but I don't hate the figure. 97 Magneto was too short, but not as short as I thought he would be. Rose and Tarantula were just terrible. I feel 50/50 about Ch'od. Idk Gamervetse figures.

10:02 Tarantula’s bandana wasn’t even blue in the source material, It supposed to black clearly showed by the spider symbol having the same blue lighting, it’s one of those mistakes that just doesn’t improve

Just one look at Ch'od had me going 'nope'. Laziness all around, from the reuse to begging for a wash or something to bring out the details.

Great list. Im glad I got Ronan on Amazon clearance. Definitely wasnt worth full price. Really a symptom of a pervasive problem in Hasbro in general, not just their figures. The prices are out of control. Vulcan would have been better for Magneto, Sentry would have been my vote, but he needs a bespoke sculpt and I domt know how they keep dropping the ball when they do new tooling. Its those type of decisions why Hasbro is being passed by every other collectible figure manufacture in the price range.

Magneto - I passed since I already got the figure but he seemed okay to me. The Rose - quite a simple and secondary character. No particular interest ..i passed. Tarantula- same as above. Not one of Spidey's most famous foes..i passed. Ch'od - i passed because i m not a big fan of the character and buying 6 figures with no interest just to get it ? No ... Spiderman PS5 .. passed too ..too many spidermen

I don't know jack about the Spider-Man game and that may be why I don't share your hate for the figures. The missing paint on the heel is the worse part, I purchased mine loose and at a discount so the price didn't pinch me.

That Luke Cage shirt could’ve been an easy fix if hasbro would just paint the exposed body sections to match the color of the shirt. That’s something I’ve always thought about every time I see a hasbro figure with shirt/jacket/coat overlays. It’s an eyesore whenever the arms are raised and expose the underlaying skin tones. Would it kill them to just paint those sections?

Hard list to make, as I don't buy all Legends, so the ones I do get, I really want. Aside from some articulation issues and lack of accessories, I'm pretty happy with what I got this year, so this list is just based on ones which weren't quite as good as others. The only figure I absolutely didn't care a bit about was Aunt May, from the Doc Ock 2-pack. 10) Red Skull (What If... could have used a gun, of some sort... maybe some alternate hands) 9) Baron Wolfgang von Strucker (Puff Adder BAF... could have used an alternate head and a gun) 8) Tarantula (Spider-Man Retro... Definitely a bad year for Marvel Legends. I used to get every comic figure when it was released. Now I pick and choose and or wait for them to go on sale. I only completed two BAFs in '23. The value and quality just isn't there in this line anymore.

Top ten of overpriced & half-assed figures. I got some of these. Would have got more if not for the 2-Pack scheme. I wanted to get Sersi, even if it was on an old buck & the Dr Doom, but don't need another Black Knight or Photon. This is the first time since the line started that I passed on so many figures. Now we have another 4 double packs with Wolverine for 2024.

mcu kingpin is my worst legend of 2023. that guy is so tiny and isn't good to maybe head swap like other suited figs, like rose at least he can be used for something else with a head swap. mcu kingpin is the only fig i ever returned so far bc he's so bad

1.Super Adaptiod for sure number one just lazy and shameful no effort what so ever, 2.Ch’od they shouldn’t even have bothered 3. Power Man what where they thinking it’s almost as if the employees knew layoffs where coming and said fuckit, makes one wonder if they even want to do superhero action figures anymore with the lazy half ass attempts there putting out what did they fire all the creative minded people over there and dose any one there know how to use a paint brush or apply a paint wash and shading to a figure and did they cut the budget for some Dull coat I know there suppose to be plastic but that doesn’t mean they have to look like cheap plastic crap there asking for a lot of money now, it’s strange when they where cheaper the style and quality was better now that the asthetic is better the style and quantity sucks and then they debut that new Angel and it’s like my God that thing is beautiful. It’s really wild the highs and lows that they go through smh 🤦🏾 . I cut back and down on a lot of figures and eve branched off to different stuff cause too many redundant figures I don’t need only focusing on new characters not done before.
