Honestly never have I ever put so much into practice from watching a video on KZfaq than I do with yours. For someone who has never practiced properly and just goes a couple of times a week for fun, I’ve seen a drastic change even in an amateurs game! Very good again Steve. Great advice on not strangling the cue. I believe you are the ONLY coach that has made that critical observation a very important part of the basics in explaining the grip. Human nature is to grip the cue tighter the harder you play a shot in the attempt to keep everything as still as possible. Also the gradual increase of cue speed on final delivery. I'll be honest the point about the grip is something i was never aware of having played for many years to a decent standard👏👏👏

Hi Steve, Having watched and played snooker for more years than I care to remember I can say hand on heart that your lessons and demonstrations are the best I’ve ever come across. Congratulations on producing a first class coaching system that even old codgers like me can understand and relate to. I would if I may, like to ask you about an aspect of cue ball control that I find difficult to master and that is being able to hold the spot when the occasion arises. I’m sure you’ve covered it somewhere on your extensive video library but I would be grateful for a few pointers as to how to overcome this particular aspect of my game. Thanks again for the wonderful work you do on behalf of all snooker players whether that be expert or numpty (me) you are like a guru of the game whose patience and dedication to his craft is unsurpassed by anyone.

I've just started playing again after about 35 years but in that time I've been playing golf and the amount of similarities between the 2 games is amazing

On most of your videos you mention standing behind the line of the shot, some people do this with the body centered to the line while others with the head tilted and the back foot already on the line, I think a very useful video would be to explain how to properly transition from the standing position to the address position as it can be difficult to do because initially moving the feet can cause the head to move off line especially if you start with the body centered to the line

Hi Steve, great video as always, much appreciated. We all know the tables that you and the pros use are much faster than the tables at our local clubs but is it possible to demonstrate how much quicker they are? We've all seen Ronnie screwing back the length of the table whilst we struggle to get half that much screw and then we start hitting the ball harder with the usual disastrous results! It would be nice to know what we could reasonably expect. Thanks again. (Sorry if this is a duplicated comment but the first one seems to have disappeared.)

Describe why you drop your elbow through delivery? It’s like the Del Hill “Drive” technique… used by O’Sullivan, Selby, Murphy. To ease the senses of crashing your hand into your chest and decelerating early. Also it gives a flat strike through the white, preventing cue ball bouncing and cue deflection. Overall, dropping the butt of the cue slightly through delivery can be a very effective cue action, and I believe reduces “kicks”too.

The Cue itself hasn't really changed that much over the years, how do you feel about an Aluminium or Carbon Fibre Cues and are they available anywhere? 🤔

I have tried lengthening the back swing but when I pull back I tend to then not have a straight line and when pushing through I am not pushing through middle of cue ball. How do you keep the cue in a straight line when you pull back further. Struggling to loosen grip properly on back swing- too tight and I lose line - too loose and lose control of cue and again don’t push through in straight line. Finding balance harder any ideas on that issue? Do you see that as a problem with snooker players you are teaching

Dear Steve I have a strange issue. I would be thankful if you help why it is like this. The issue is that when I THINK I am hitting the cue ball in center, my friend says you're putting right hand side spin (in reality he is right and it is clear by cue ball direction or spin even but I see it center ). Now to compensate this I have to put almost 1.5 tip to the left side. With this I strike perfectly straight. (BTW let me tell you the I'm wearing glasses) Have you ever heard this or faced with such issue😄 and if you have any advice in this regard? Sorry for long text and many thanks again.
