So around once a year, I like to take a look at some of my favourite movie related Easter eggs in video games, and this years selection of film referencing Easter eggs are some of the best yet.

Starting off in the crysis easter egg, I was thinking "oh boy, another Star Wars reference" so it made me pretty happy to see Scrat. Also cause I love Ice Age

At 8:50, you can also see GIR, the robot companion to Zim from Invader Zim, on the conveyor belt in the top left. Not a movie detail, but one from a show.

7:40 there’s also an Easter egg (dunno if you covered it yet) referencing this in Mortal Kombst 11. If terminator and Jacqui Briggs fight he’ll say he accomplished his mission after jacqui asks “is it true that sub zero’s now plain zero”

I love how you get silent to wait for the easteregg to be visible. I like to guess it myself and its so fun :-) also 9:05 everyone watches Golum but misses that thumbs up sticking from the molten iron on the left :D

8:45 if you look closely to the left side of the screen, inside the silo (or probably a smelter) you can see the famous thumbs up from the movie Terminator 2

The Friday the 13th reference goes even deeper. The model of Jason is from Friday the Thirteenth The Game (I think) and the sound that plays when you see him in that clip (not the Halloween theme) is also featured in Friday the Thirteenth The Game.

In the Ghostbusters game, if you keep checking the answering machine between levels, eventually one message will say "Who Busts the Ghostbusters?" a reference to Watchmen

There’s a Ghostface “Easter egg” in one of the Hitman games. I don’t remember which one exactly but there’s a level where you can disguise yourself as the villain of an author’s book which resembles Ghostface.

Not an Easter egg, but I was replaying Astros Playroom on PS5, and in the main hub, after you punch other Astros and they start following you, when you start to enter a new level, like Cooling Springs, if you turn around and look at them, they'll start waving bye excitedly. I probably didn't explain it correct and it may not be that big, but it's a detail I liked.

The hallway fight sequence in sifu isn't only referencing the scene in old boy but its also referring to the hallway fight scene in a movie called the raid

I don't know if this has been covered, but in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, if you shoot an enemy in certain spots (for example, the foot) they recoil and start to lift their leg that was shot up.

Seeing that ending one really makes me realize how interesting classic slasher could translate to a good videogame. Nightmare on Elm Street maybe a survival type game trying to keep your character awake long enough to learn the origins of Freddy and how to defeat him, if you daze out or run out of energy and sleep you go into the combat against Freddy in dream warrior sequences. Or just as well with Hellbound, someone opens the box so it's your character vs deadites trying to close it and send them back. A fun royal esque crossover have all the classic slashers together on a map and the goal is to become the most feared so it's how many kills and how many gruesome scary kills to win.

In Kingdom Rush Vengeance, if you looked in the opposite corner of the Golum easter egg, there is a slight chance that on the conveyor belt Gir from Invade Zim will appear. It actually happens in this video. Keep a look out for the robot with the big blue eyes

Im pretty sure at 5:22, when you died in Sunset Overdrive, you ragdolled, and you could here the flatline sound from either garrys mod or half life, especially since you ragdolled like in garrys mod!

at 8:53 there is also Ger (i think thats how you spell his name) on the little conveyer belt in the top left corner, its a reference to Invader Zim a popular cartoon in the 90s/early 2000s. Its a great show from my childhood and i would know that plucky lil taco loving robot anywhere!

oh and i just seen this one but in the bottom left of the same part there is also a thumbs up in the pool of lava, pretty sure from memory thats from terminator but not sure what one (never really got into those movies)

In the "Gollum" Easter egg, there's also another one. Right to the left of it, there's a vat of lava with a hand sticking out with a thumbs up. That's a Terminator reference. That's kinda cool too!

at 8:56 in the top left corner of the screen near where the money and other things are there is a conveyor belt and on that belt is a blue eyed robot named GIR from the 2001 show Invader Zim!

In Fallout: New Vegas with the Wild Wasteland perk, the giant rats in Broc Flower Cave will be named "Rodents of Unusual Size", a reference to the movie The Princess Bride, where the giant rats in the Fire Swamp are called "ROUS", or "Rodents of Unusual Size".

Chivalry 2 Easter egg is if you get your arm chopped off, a message will pop up saying “tis but a scratch” referencing Monty pithon and the holy grail

There's a ton of pop culture references in Borderlands 3. There's a Sniper Rifle thats description says "she's gone from suck to blow." Witch is a reference to Spaceballs And there's even a SpongeBob Refrence

I think the Borderlands games have tons and some of the best Movies and Pop Culture Easter Eggs in all games. here are some I remember right now. B1: the body of "Bruce Maclane" (Bruce Willis + John Maclane) "Mad Mel" (Mad Max + Mel Gibson) Skagzilla and Mothrakk Bpre-seq: an area with a black monolith that when you touch it you see a vision of space and a baby and other crazy stuff 2 robots, 1 golden and tall and the other short and white a gun named "E-GUN" that shoots a laser stream B2: There's a random box with a head inside a lot of guns have movie quotes in the description B3: more movie quotes in guns

Not sure if anyone has said this but when he's talking about the Shrek reference the mission names is 'Roadsides Picnic' and that's a reference to a popular book that inspired the Metro and S.T.A.L.K.E.R series

at 8:50 i can spot 2 other easter eggs, on one of the molten iron vats there's the terminator thumbs up, and on the assembly line above theres a small robot that looks like that one character from invader Zim (i don't know the name, never watched the show)

I agree about the Shrek reference because people like playing just the first word or most of the first word of All Star in joke videos. Especially while showing someone kicking open a door like Shrek did.

in Ark Survival Evolved, if you go to the swamp in the Ragnarok map, you can find Shrek's hut and outhouse, sadly you cant go inside though

9:10 so I see plenty of references such as teh thumbs up in the lava from terminator 2, bender's head from futurama, the robot from invader zim on teh assembly line along wiht Wall-e from Wall-e, also teh orc there is a semi clear reference to grom hellscream from warcraft 3, more so in warcraft 3 grom flies a purple banner. Hecka little before that there was the warcraft 3's orc's barracks.
